RMMO ~ We will receive our annual Retired Ministers and Missionaries Offering during the month of December. To date we have received $261.00 Our love gift goal is $1,000.00.

AMA Advent Service/Lunch ~ This Wednesday, Dec 11th, Alderson Ministerial Association will host a community Advent service and luncheon at noon at the Johnson Memorial UMC. Everyone is invited.

Annual Business Meeting ~ Part 1 of our annual church business meeting will be held Wednesday, December 11th, 2019 at 6:30pm. It will be preceded by a pot luck dinner at 5:30 pm. Please plan to attend.

Change for Change ~ Thank you for your support of the children’s “Change for Change” Food Pantry ministry. Contributions last Sunday totaled $105.00. That brings our total for the last three months to almost $350!!! That’s an incredible testimony to the generosity of OGBC!

Friendship Christmas Dinner ~ The Friendship annual Christmas dinner is tonight at 5:30pm at the Old Victorian.

Christmas Cantata ~ Our Adult Choir plus members of the community will present “Messiah Heaven’s Glory” a Christmas cantata arranged by Russell

Mauldin Sunday, December 22nd, in our sanctuary at 3:00pm. A reception will follow. We invite everyone to join us and share this beautiful message.

Live Nativity/Christmas Party ~ A live Nativity will be enacted on the front lawn of the church Friday, December 20th at 6:00pm followed by a Christmas party for everyone in the church Fellowship Hall at 7:00pm. We will have games, food, and lots of Christmas fellowship. We would like to add music this year. If you have a musical talent, we would like to hear your voice or musical instrument. If you have any questions, call April Lewis at 304-719-7288. Brennan Wood is organizing the live Nativity and April is organizing the party. Everyone is invited to see this special event at 6:00pm and stay for our Christmas party beginning at 7pm.

Each Sunday at 9:45 am Our Adult Sunday School Friendship Class embarks upon an engaging adventure with a stimulating dialogue to challenge your participation. During December we are exploring “Discipleship”: “Prelude to Discipleship” with “Mary’s Praise to God”, Luke 1-39:56, as our lesson for this Sunday. Join our Growth Group Sunday mornings at 10:00 am in the upstairs classroom when we explore ways to draw closer to God through our study in the 23rd Psalm. Today’s topic for discussion is “Blessing”. Next Sunday, our topic of discussion will be “Security”.
