Guardian ad Litem Volunteer Training in Okeechobee: The Guardian ad Litem pro-gram is offering interested community members the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child in need by becoming a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) volunteer. Certified GAL volunteers are appointed by the court to be the voice for a child. The GAL train-ing program for accepted applicants will be held on Thursday, May 8 and Friday, May 9, from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. each day, at the Okeechobee Public Library, 206 SW 16th Street, Okeechobee. No prior experience is required, and training and support are pro-vided.
