1. Place samples on plate

2. Drop 5 drops/mineral oil/sample

3. Start stopwatch

4. Stop stopwatch/when oil/soaked in

5. Record in data table

Hypothesis:If oil is poured on sandstone, limestone, and shale,

then sandstone will absorb oil the quickest.

Why:

Because sandstone feels the most porous.
