OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF THE FRESNO “JOHN E. PARKER” CHAPTER ELEVEN INTERNATIONAL FOOTPRINT ASSOCIATION, INC.
ORGANIZED MAY 1929 February 2019 Vol. 25 No. 77
International Footprint Assn: (John E Parker) Chapter # 11
The January 8, 2019 meeting was
held at Yosemite Falls on Blackstone
north of Shaw Avenue.
Executive Director Chaplin Rod
Lowery Fresno Police Department
Chaplaincy. Chaplin Lowery explained
the program has now grown to budget
that no one could have foreseen when
the program began 8 years ago. The
Resiliency Center is located on N Ful-
ton Avenue at LaSalle where a building
was recently purchased.
Today the program has numerous
chaplains and office staff working with
community partners as they outreach to
Fresno Unified School District inspir-
ing resiliency in the next generation.
There are Chaplains working in the
schools with children from First grade through Sixth grades. The program al-
so is starting to work with schools of
Psychology allowing those in need of
or seeking counseling to have access to
free private guidance.
The program sought a publication to
assist children understand, Impulse
Control, Emotional Regulation, Self-
efficacy, Causal Analysis, Empathy,
Optimism, and the Bounce Back Bud-
dies color book was born.
The illustration was completed by:
Ernie Hergenroeder. The color book
guide had an introduction from Chief
Jerry Dyer.
“Police officer are here to protect
you and to keep you safe. Whenever
you are afraid, do not be afraid to ask
them for help.
Make sure you take your time and
understand each message. We want
you to begin by choosing your friends
wisely and to stay in control of your
emotions. That means don’t lose your
temper and do something you will be
sorry for. Stop and think before you
respond. We also want you to work
with friends to solve problems and
overcome the challenges of life togeth-
er.
It is also important for you to be
kind to other people and show you care
about them. Everyone needs a friend
when they are going through rough
times. And last, we want you to think
of yourself in a positive way and do not
allow other people to control your emo-tions or make you think you are not
special.
You are very special to me and
God. And remember, police officers
are your friends, and so am I.”
The program has been so successful
that agencies from around the country
are seeking information, and guidance.
International Footprint Association
Chapter #11 presented a donation
check for $500 to assist with the pro-
gram.
The next meeting will be held at
11:30 am, 4020 N. Cedar, Yosemite
Falls Café backroom. Please feel free
to attend the meeting as all are wel-
come.

Dear Weldon,
Thank you for your recent $500 donation for the Resiliency Center of the Fresno PoliceChaplaincy. We are so grateful for your support!
We are excited about the opportunities we will have to impact lives through this newprogram. We will daily search calls for service involving children exposed to a traumaticevent. Within 72 hours of that crisis, a member of our Trauma Response Team will meetwith these children and their families to assess their needs, offer counseling and providelinkage to community resources.
Because of your gift, we will be able to intervene in the lives of ten children and theirfamilies.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity and your partnership.
