Our numerous activities include ice fishing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, downhill skiing, tube sliding, sleigh rides, carnivals, curling, hockey, skating and, of course, relaxing in our numerous inns & resorts. Here, you’ll find activities for the kids, for the family, for a group of friends, or for yourself—we definitely have what you’re looking for.Our first snowfall is usually in early November, but winter fun really arrives in early December. Every year, the Village Noël Temiskaming kicks off our festive season with the unique atmosphere of an authentic New France Christmas Village. The Village emulates the famous Belgian Christmas markets, with artisans and vendors in wooden kiosks lining the downtown streets.
It is clearly a must if you’re looking for special Christmas gifts for your loved ones.In January, when Lake Temiskaming freezes, hundreds of fishing huts appear on the lake. They look like miniature villages on the ice. Our many fishing derbies in the region will keep you hunting for that big catch.Sleigh rides are a nice way to quiet down and really enjoy nature while connecting with the horses. Local sleigh ride companies will provide you with a memorable winter experience. There are well-established commercial businesses which are always a warm place to gather with friends. Be sure to make time to enjoy the beauty in and around Lake Temiskaming!
is fun-filled and breathtakingly beautiful.

Village Noel Temiskaming recreates the atmosphere of an authentic New France Christmas Village. The downtown is magically transformed with small wooden kiosks decorated with sparkling lights and showcasing local artisans and vendors. Join in the fun of axe throwing, log sawing competitions, children’s games, musical entertainment and more. Check out the Christmas Farmer’s Market, experience First Nation and Metis cultures and savour the many tastes of our local food producers.
Our dogs are the heart of our business and there is nothing quite like dog sledding in Algonquin Park and Ontario and Quebec’s north. Each season we offer a very special trip. We load up all of our dogs and gear and head north to Temagami for an incredible week of dog sledding. During this expedition we are completely self sufficient and carry all of our gear and equipment with us for the duration of the trip. All clients will be driving their own team of dogs and will play a key role in every aspect of this expedition. Snow Forest Adventures1162 Tom Parris Trail, Dwight, [email protected]
