RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Religious Education Classes will resume on Saturday,

December 2nd

at 9 A.M. in the school.

FAMILY MASS

This Sunday, the students of the Religious Education Program

will attend the 10:15 AM Mass with their families. Mass will be

followed by a reception and activity in the school auditorium.

This is a great opportunity to gather as a faith community to

celebrate the Eucharist, share a meal and learn more about the

liturgical season of Advent. All parish families are welcome.

POLISH SATURDAY SCHOOL

Polish Saturday School will take orders for pierogi until

December 4th – one dozen for $9 – cheese, Ruskie (potato &

cheese), and cabbage with mushrooms. For more information,

call Jola at 203-927-9182. The pickup date is December 9th

from

2-3 PM.

kto ma wielkie oczekiwania wobec ludzi, być może chce nam

powiedzieć: Jestem zachłanny na człowieka, Jestem zachłanny na

to dobro, które może stać się jego udziałem. Jestem spragniony

tego dobra, które rodzi się tam, gdzie pojawia się człowiek.

Jestem spragniony człowieka. Może to chce nam powiedzieć Bóg

w tej niezwykłej Ewangelii?

Boże Ojcze, spraw, abym na wzór Jezusa pragnął pełnić Twoją

wolę, aby nastało Twoje królestwo miłości i prawdy.

LITTLE BLUE BOOKS FOR ADVENT

This year Advent begins on December 3rd. To help us enter more

fully into the season of preparation for Christmas, the parish will

once again provide copies of The Little Blue Books for Advent.

This little book contains prayers and meditations that help us

focus on God's great gift of His Son to us through the Incarnation.

In past years it has been a useful aid to many in their preparations

for Christmas. Copies of the Little Blue Book are available at the

entrance to the Church

FIRST WORLD DAY OF THE POOR

Pope Francis has declared the first World Day of the Poor to be

celebrated today, November 19, 2017, the 33rd Sunday in

Ordinary Time. Pope Francis invites the church and all people of

good will to reach out, encounter and touch "all those who stretch

out their hands and plead for our help and solidarity." Pope

Francis asks that we "create moments of encounter and

friendship, solidarity and concrete assistance" to the poor, the

alienated, the stranger and the foreigner. This day is meant to

encourage believers to react against a culture of discard and

waste, and to embrace a culture of encounter. Pope Francis'

message ends with this profound observation: The poor are not

the problem: “they are a resource from which to draw as we strive

to accept and practice in our lives the essence of the Gospel."

SHARE THE JOURNEY

On September 27, 2017, Pope Francis launched a two-year global

campaign called "Share The Journey" to support migrants and

refugees around the world. He has asked that we seek creative

ways to assist our brothers and sisters who have had to flee from

their homes in order to seek a decent and safe life for their

families. Prayer is one way that each of us can support them. A

"Share The Journey" prayer card is available at the entrance of the

church.
