What is a Degree Audit?

• Detailed outline of the academic requirements of a program

• Real-time analysis of a student’s progress towards degree completion

• Interactive academic advising tool• Graduation audit tool

Degree Audit Process

• Programs are made up of areas of requirements:– General – GPA, minimum credits, effective terms– General Education– Major– Concentration– Minor– Electives

• Areas are used to define the specific requirements of each program. nn

General Education

• Within the General Education area, we identify the courses for competency, group and exposure requirements.

• Requirements can be met by a course, course attribute, or a non-course attribute like a competency test

Audit of Current Gen Ed

• Students who request to withdraw from classes will be assigned one of the three following grades:

WP Withdrawal PassingWF Withdrawal Failing

WN Withdrawal Never Attended, or no Graded Work to Date

• Beginning 5th week of the term

• Notations do not affect GPA

New Gen Ed Audit

Assessment

• Program requirements are clearly stated

• Real-time compliance report

• Audit shows how completed and in-progress courses apply to program

• Web self-service for advisors and students

• Includes “what if” analysis feature to explore program options
