Action Items of ORIC Advisory Board Meeting
• Promote Faculty Motivation level towards research and innovation.
• Faculty should be encouraged to increase their interaction with the localindustry by a systematic outreach campaign.
• Confidence building measures such as visiting industries and solving theirsmall problems even at no cost.
• Solving real world problems.
• Low level projects like app development, Agricultural projects, Bio-devices, Biotechnology, smoke detectors, pollution sensors.
• Reduced course load or better appraisals against the letter of support tofaculty.
Action Items of ORIC Advisory Board Meeting (Cont.)
• Interdisciplinary research should be strongly promoted along with crossfaculty courses and cross faculty research.
• Industries actively approached and explored by faculty.
• Brochure of the faculty skills.
• Interested faculty to be carefully chosen and given free hand to fosterindustrial ties.
• Links of Punjab government to be utilized for the outreach.
• Young faculty with industry experience should be engaged.
Workshop on Latex
A “One Day Workshop on LaTex” was conducted on 13th March, 2018.
• For Basic understanding of creating a Latex document.
• A total of 80 personnel including professionals, Engineers, Faculty Members and Students attended the workshop .
BIM Orientation
• Future of the AEC industry lies in BIM.
• An orientation session was organized for faculty andstudents of CE about BIM and construction industry’strends.
Seminar on “New Developments in Electric Motors and Drives”
• The talk covered new developments in high efficiency electric motors and drives.

Electric vehicle is a pollution free transportationsystem, no gas emit in electric vehicle.
Electric tri wheeler covered 31 km/charge whereIC engine tri wheeler covered 32 km/L.
Electric vehicle is cost efficient
A Joined Project With HIT
A project titled as “Development ofRemote Control 12.7 mm Anti-Aircraft Machine Gun (AAMG) for Al-Khalid Tank” has been started withHIT.
The proposed project work belongsto local development of Remote Con1.7 mm AAMG for TK AK to enhanceits fire power which has immenseimportance to HIT.
Autonomous Landing/Takeoff of UAV-PhD Fellowship
A funded project initiated withNational Engineering and ScientificCommission (NESCOM) on“Autonomous Landing/Takeoff of UAV”
The project covers a PhD fellowship-CUST student has been selected for thefellowship after test and interviewconducted by NESCOM team.
Stress Analysis of Tank Al-Khalid
A project on static and dynamic analysisof Alkhalid Tank is in progress with HIT.
Dr Khawar Naveed, Assistant ProfessorDepartment of ME is heading the project.
Static Analysis iscompleted. DynamicAnalysis is in progress andwill be completed soon.
