STUDENT SAFETY The safety of all students is the first priority at Greenfields Primary School, for this reason we ask parents NOT to use the STAFF CAR PARK as a drop off or pick up point while collecting their children. Your on going co-operation is greatly appreciated. THE ROLE OF P&C'S Parents and Citizens’ Associations are established under the Education Act for the purpose of supporting a strong government school system for the benefit of the students. The Greenfields Primary School P&C Association is an incorporated body affiliated with WACSSO (Western Australian Council of State School Organisations Inc) and are a group of parents with an interest in how their children’s school operates. The P&C Association helps you and your children by: giving parents an opportunity to learn about the school’s policies and programs; organising ways in which parents can share in shaping and developing school policies so that they reflect the broad agreement and support of the school community; bringing parents together to share information and views; assisting the school to build positive attitudes to students and their families; stimulating community interest and participation in education; raising funds and providing additional resources and amenities for the benefit of children attending government schools. Providing school canteen facilities. Membership is open to all parents/guardians of children who attend the school and interested citizens over the age of 18. Anyone wishing to join the P&C may do so at any time during the year, provided that the membership subscription of $1.00 is paid at the time of joining. Whether you are a member of the P&C, a standing committee or an office bearer, no member is more important than you! Without your presence the P&C may not be able to hold a meeting or transact business for want of a quorum. The P&C Association is a team, whose purpose above all else is to serve and promote the interests of the students. To book and pay for tickets contact Helen Myers on 04179 56077 or at the canteen 9535 1898 - week days between 8.30am -1pm.

We are in the process of collecting prizes for this year’s major fundraising event. We are asking each family in our school community help make this fundraising event a success by donating an item or a service, to be used as prizes at the quiz night. Baskets have been supplied to each classroom for students to leave their donations in alternatively donations may be taken to the School Canteen between 8.30am –1pm school days.

Please ensure your family name or business name is clearly written on a piece of paper attached to your donated item. It is impossible to include families in our thank you acknowledgements without this information. We appreciate and look forward to your support!

P&C MEETING

The next meeting will be held in the conference room on Tuesday 19 October, commencing at 1.30pm. We need as many people present as possible to be able to pass the Treasurer Report’s from April until now. Everyone is welcome to come along to find out what is happening with-in your children’s school.

LAST CHANCE TO BOOK FAMILY PHOTOS A photographer from Advance Family Photographers will be at our school on Sunday 17 October, information brochures were sent home with a previous newsletter. Tania Swinson aand Katrina Hawkins will be in the Conference Room this Friday morning between 8.30am - 9am to take bookings and payments. Alternatively, you may send your booking slip and your $15.00 in a sealed envelope with your name, contact details and preferred sitting time written clearly on it, to the school office. A P&C member will contact you to confirm your sitting time. Bookings will only be confirmed at the time of payment

SCHOOL BANKING

The Commonwealth Bank School Banking Program is designed to teach young children the importance of saving. It allows children to make regular deposits at school, which helps them develop good saving habits from an early age. The Commonwealth Bank pays our school a commission for each new account opened through the school and on all school banking deposits. If you would like your child to participate in the School Banking Program please see Katrina in the Library, alternatively new account kits are available from the School Office. School banking takes place in the library each Tues-day morning between 8.30 - 8.50am and kindy, pre-primary 1&2 at approxi-mately 9am. School Banking Coordinator Katrina Hawkins

UNIFORM SHOP The uniform shop will no longer operate in the Conference Room. Uniforms are only available for purchased at Hot Klobba, Shop 3/104 Park Road Mandurah. Hot Klobba is open: Mon – Friday 8.30am - 5pm Saturday 9am – 1pm Sincere thanks to Katrina Hawkins who has given her time to run the uniform shop this year.
