•Understanding the key threats to the river – pollution ( liquid & solid), e-waste, biodiversity status and people’s dependence on the river
•Immediate next steps required
•Commenced from Vivekanad Hospital, upstream of the city
•Culminated at KhatgharRailway Bridge, Moradabad
• Covered major drains including TDI, MIT, Chakkar
Ki Mallak,Jigar Colony, Jahabbo ka Nala, Kali ka Mandir and Karula Nala

•The river plays a major role in the lives of the community people
living across its basin
•Fixing a small stretch of the river’s pollution (from the point of the confluence of Dhela river till Katghar) will make a marked
improvement in its health
•E-waste is a major threat to river’s health and requires immediate attention by the
administration
•As a strategy, WWF-India to organize River Trails for
students, community members and Government officials to make them understand the threats and
involve in river’s restoration
