“Has none but this foreigner re-turned to give thanks to God?” - Luke 17:18 Most of us live “easy” lives. We have food, shelter, and clothing. We go on vacation every year and own a car or two. Most of us take this all for granted. Did you ever notice that people with the least amount of possessions are usual-ly the most grateful? Shouldn’t

this be the other way around? Take time every day and thank God for all He has given you.

We are the largest apostolic organization of lay people in the Catholic Church founded in 1927 by Frank Duff in Dublin, Ireland. Come find out about us and attend one of our Inquiry Meetings Monday, Tuesday or Friday after 8:00 Mass in the Foyer by the Chapel or Thursday Night at 6:30 p.m. in Parish Hall C the St. Catherine Siena Room. Catholic Community Hospice is looking for volunteers to be with the terminally ill. Volunteers are a valuable part of Catholic Charities and often find that their greatest satisfaction comes from contributing to the wellbeing of others. If you are that person and would like more information, please contact Bonnie Krause, Volunteer Coordinator 913/433-2020.

There is a petition available for you to sign in the gather-ing space and most exits of the church this Sunday. It is to petition members of our Kansas Legislature to reverse the ruling of the Kansas Supreme Court which states that our Constitution guarantees an inherent right to an abortion. This ruling likely loses us the right to place reasonable, lifesaving limits on even the most horrific practices like late-term and taxpayer -funded abortion. It will take all of us working together to get an amendment passed. Tell your friends about it and contact your own state representative and senator personally for your area. Your local library has contact information for them.

The Archdiocese is launching a support group for survivors of sexual abuse harmed by an agent of the Church or by other perpetrators. The group will meet twice a month, beginning in October, at a location in the Johnson Coun-ty, KS area. This is a safe, supportive environment to be able to talk about the impact to your lives and your feel-ings, to know you are not alone, and to promote healing. To protect the privacy of potential participants please contact Linda Slater-Trimble by email at [email protected] or by phone at 913-298-9244 for the days, times and location of the meeting. Must be at least 18 years of age to participate.

Are you dreaming big dreams for your Marriage . . . Or have you grown complacent in your love for each oth-er, settling for the status quo? A Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend is an opportunity to grow deeper in love and explore all that God has in store for your marriage. Grounded in the love of Jesus Christ, the weekend will provide you the tools and the time necessary to go

deeper into the Sacrament so that you can live more inti-mately and responsibly as a couple of God. The next weekend in the Kansas City area will be November 15-17, 2019.
