ABOUT THE A’S: Have put together three consecutive wins for the first time this year…it is the A’s first winning streak longer than two games since Aug. 7-9, 2014 when they also won three straight…have not won more than three straight since July 3-8, 2014 when they had a six-game winning streak…the current winning streak follows a stretch where the A’s lost four straight, eight of nine and 14 of 16…are now 9-22 (.290) over the last 31 games (beginning April 23) after starting the year 8-8…are 17-30 (.362) overall, which is the worst record in the American League and second worst in the majors (Milwaukee, 16-30)…it matches the third worst record after 47 games in Oakland history and is the worst since the 2005 club also started the year 17-30 (lost game 48)…are in fifth place in the AL West for the 18th consecutive day and trail first place Houston by 12½ games…this marks the fourth time in Oakland history the A’s have trailed by at least 12½ games before the end of May (also 2005, 2001 and 1979)…have spent six days in sole possession of first, three days tied for first, five days in sec-ond, three days tied for second, two days in third, five days tied for third, seven days in fourth, one day tied for fourth and 18 days in fifth…split the four-game series at Tampa Bay over the weekend, snapping a five-series losing streak.

STARTING PITCHING: Jesse Hahn tossed the A’s first complete game of the season yesterday, a four-hit shutout…A’s starting pitchers have not allowed a run over the last three games, matching the longest such streak in Oakland history (13th time)…it is the longest single season streak since Aug. 24-26, 2005…starters currently have a 20.2-inning scoreless streak…are now 4-6 with a 2.55 ERA (22 er in 77.2 ip) over the last 13 games…have a 3.38 ERA (104 er in 277.1 ip) for the season, which is the lowest in the American League and third lowest in the majors…lead the AL and are tied for second in the majors in fewest home runs (19)…rank third in the AL in innings pitched (277.1)

PITCHING: The A’s have two shutouts in the last three games and seven for the season, which is the most in the American League and second most in the majors (San Francisco, 8)…now have a 2.87 ERA (36 er in 113.0 ip) over the last 13 games after posting a 5.21 ERA over the previous 20 contests…for the season, rank fourth in the American League in strikeouts (361) but are tied for the third most walks (145)…are tied for second in fewest home runs (38) and tied for third in pickoffs (4).

DEFENSIVE DOINGS: The A’s committed three errors yesterday, marking the third time in Oakland history the A’s committed three or more errors and shutout the opponent (Sept. 12, 2005 vs. Cleveland and Aug. 24, 2010 vs. Cleveland)…it was the A’s fifth game of three or more errors this year and Oakland now has 49 errors for the season, which is nine more than any other team (Milwaukee, 40)…have committed at least one error in 19 of the last 22 games (28 errors total)…the errors have led to 29 unearned runs, which is the most in the majors…did not commit an error a week ago tonight, snapping a streak of 15 consecutive games with an error…that was third longest streak in Oakland history and was the longest since the 1982 club had a 17-game streak from May 6-23.

LEFT AND RIGHT: The A’s are 1-9 when the opponent starts a left-hand-ed pitcher compared to 16-21 when they start a right-hander…the mark against lefties is the worst in the majors…are batting .212 (77-for-364) against lefties compared to .269 (346-for-1285) with 38 of their 42 home runs off righties…the mark against lefties is second lowest in the American League (Boston, .208) and the mark against righties is third highest.

OFFENSE: The A’s have scored 37 runs over the last 12 games (3.08 per game) and are 18-for-119 (.151) with runners in scoring position over that stretch…are batting .239 (158-for-660) over the last 19 games, including .185 (32-for-173) with RISP…hit .310 with RISP over the first 28 games…rank second in the American League in stolen base percentage (29-for-35, 82.9%) and third in triples (12)…have been shutout four times, which is second most in the AL.

HOME AND AWAY: The A’s are 1-0 on this seven-game homestand against Detroit (1-0) and New York-AL (four games)…have not won con-secutive home games this year and have yet to win a home series (five losses, one split)…went 1-5 on the last homestand against Boston (1-2) and Chicago-AL (0-3), the A’s second consecutive 1-5 homestand…have

lost 12 of their last 15 home games and are 6-14 (.300) at home for the season, which is the worst home record in the majors …it is the second worst record after 20 home games in Oakland history…the 1994 club was 5-15 (won game 21)…have finished with a losing record on all three home-stands…the last time the A’s had three straight losing homestands in one season was in 2005…finished with a losing record on each of the final two homestands of 2014 and the streak of five consecutive losing homestands matches the longest in Oakland history (last four of 1978, first of 1979)…went 3-4 on the last road trip to Houston (1-2) and Tampa Bay (2-2)…have lost nine of the last 12 road games and are 11-16 (.407) for the season.

IN MAY: The A’s are 8-16 (.333) in May, which is the worst record in the American League and tied for third worst in the majors…have clinched a losing record in May, their fourth consecutive month under .500 dating back to last August…prior to that, had 14 straight months with a winning record…the 16 losses match the A’s most in May over the last six years (2012).

NIGHT AND DAY: Have won each of their last three day games after losing 13 of the first 14 day games this year…are now 4-13 (.235) during the day compared to 13-17 (.433) at night…have the second worst record in day games in the majors (Cincinnati, 4-13) and are tied for the most losses…are batting .241 (140-for-580) with 63 runs scored during the day (3.71 per game) compared to .265 (283-for-1069) with 140 runs at night (4.67 per game).

ONE-RUN GAMES AND OTHER CLOSE CALLS: The A’s are 2-13 (.133) in one-run games, which is the worst record in the majors…also lead the majors in one-run losses…are 3-19 (.136) in games decided by two runs or fewer and have the most losses and worst record in the majors in those games…are 0-6 in extra inning games and the six-game extra inning los-ing streak matches the longest such streak by an A’s team over the last 20 years (May 18-July 5, 2011 and May 21-July 25, 1999)…are tied with Pittsburgh for the Major League lead in extra inning losses and are tied with Seattle for the American League lead in extra inning games…are 0-9 in games decided in the last at bat…also lost their final last at bat game of 2014 and the 10-game losing streak in games decided in the last at bat matches the longest such streak in Oakland history (May 14-July 17, 1989)…are the only team without a last at bat win and are tied with Pitts-burgh and Seattle for the most losses.

THE DISABLED LIST: The A’s have nine players on the disabled list (Crisp, Davis, Griffin, Ladendorf, Mujica, O’Flaherty, Parker, Pomeranz, Thompson)…Griffin, Parker and Thompson are on the 60-day DL…have had at least seven players on the DL all year and have used it a total of 15 times…used it 18 times last year after using it 13 times in 2013…have not had fewer than two players on the DL since the end of the 2006 season when they had just one.
