Chi Rho and CYF Chi Rho and CYF will begin the new year with

a swim. Sunday, August 26th the youth will meet at Ange-

la and Daniel Farris’ home to have a cook out and swim.

We are excited to begin another year and continue our discussion of events we would like to

Time to welcome our teachers back for the fall session with our annual PC West teacher breakfast. For more information or to get the recipe for our breakfast casserole call Charlene Majetic at 405-830-2281.

Volunteers need to be at the school at 7:00 am. Casseroles need to be there by 7:15 am. Teachers will eat at 7:30 am. Be sure to use the west entrance (not the main entrance). A volunteer will be there to help you.

Back To School Teacher Breakfast

Our Annual Pancake Breakfast is coming!

Is your mouth watering for pancakes?

Then come to the pancake breakfast on

Sunday, August 26th at 10:00 a.m.

We will meet in the Youth Room and promote our children and youth to their

new grades. We are grateful to Life Lessons Sunday School class for providing breakfast.

Saturday, August 11th we will have a Children Worship and Wonder Training

for our church from 9a.m to noon. We are asking all greeters and storytell-

ers to attend. We will also welcome our new volunteers to the program. We

will have a worship service and discuss the role of greeters and storytellers so

we are all on the same page for this coming year.

Summer is Ending and School is Beginning. I am looking forward to the end of summer. Not only

am I hoping for cooler days in the near future, but I

am also looking forward to exciting things at the

church. I know many are trying to get in those last

minute vacations before school starts. But, for some,

school has already started and they are already

fully immersed in their new schedule. In the church,

this means we are looking at collecting school sup-

plies to donate to the school. We are looking at a

Back to School fellowship dinner where you can bring

those items.

In August we prepare a breakfast to welcome teach-

ers back after the summer break and let them know

Western Oaks Christian Church appreciates them.

We also look forward to Whiz Kids starting back up

as well. This is a great program offering one on one

tutoring with struggling students. You don’t need

any special skills, just patience and willing to sit

down and read with them. We are always looking

for volunteers.

Yes, back to school time is an exciting time at West-

ern Oaks, when we are actively supporting our local

schools!

begins with the first letter of their last name; (For example, Fearing Fresh Fruit,

Conner Cucumber Salad, Lairson Lemon Pie, Melton Macaroni and Cheese).

Please bring a school supply to donate to our neighborhood schools.

If you have a favorite game, bring that as well.
