Why APDAPD Ltd is the largest plastics fabrication company in New Zealand and has been in the business of designing and building above and below ground tanks, pipelines and bespoke products for over 15 years.

APD Ltd was the first company in New Zealand to obtain approval from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to design and build bulk storage tanks for hazardous substances.

EQUIPMENTAPD prides itself on using the latest technology in welding equipment sourced from the main manufacturers in Europe. Our equipment allows us to weld our products in accordance with the DVS series of standards for plastic fabrication and our above ground tanks are all designed in accordance with the standards EN1778 and BS EN12573.

Our sheet butt welder is the largest in New Zealand and we are able to weld sheets up to 50mm thick and 4m long allowing us to build tanks up to 60,000L with ease.

QUALIFICATIONSAll of our fabricators either hold certificates in hot air welding and extrusion welding or are currently completing their certificates and in addition, yearly weld testing is conducted to confirm their competence.

washing your car. All APD Rainworx Systems include a 1200mm,

1000mm or 800mm diameter StormLite® Tank with all internal

pipe work completed with your choice of submersible or surface

mounted pump system.

Simple, adaptable & cost effectiveStormLite® Underground Tanks are a simple, adaptable, cost effective solution to your storm water detention and retention, rain harvesting and water recycling needs.

Out of sightSave precious outdoor space on your section and eliminate the intrusive sight of above ground tanks. StormLite® Tanks are buried out of sight and can be installed under traffic areas, gardens or lawns.

Various diameters availableAvailable in four diameters, 645mm, 800mm, 1000mm and 1200mm.

Diameters quoted are nominal.

The tank Outer Diameter will be 50mm to

100mm more than the nominal size.

Volume as specified

StormLite® Tank lengths are designed and manufactured to provide the volume specified. Made from tough polyethylene corrugated pipe which will not rot or corrode and can be recycled.

Ready to installStormLite® Tanks come complete with fittings including seals, orifice end caps and leaf mesh ready to be installed. Standard fittings included at 100 mm diameter are:

• Three wallace seals for inlet, outlet and overflow. Inlet/s can be in either or both ends.

• End caps are drillable PVC caps which fit over the outlet pipe/s from the inside of the tank.

• Leaf trap mesh basket.

150mm diameter fittings are also available as are larger PE spigots or stub flanges.

Made to your requirementWhen it comes to underground rain water tanks, one size does not fit all. StormLite® tanks are all made to individual site requirements whilst meeting council specifications. Within a few days (2 – 5 days of order), you get exactly what you need delivered to site, for easy installation and a long trouble free life.

Unique designThe APD unique hammerhead design makes use of the whole tank, allowing you to meet consent requirements with the smallest possible tank and installation costs. StormLite® Tanks have a 25 year design life and come with a 10 year guarantee*.

Easy installationInstallation is a breeze with StormLite® Tanks because they are lightweight and robust, and are supplied complete in one piece with a built-in man way access riser and silt trap, ready to install. The built-in silt trap eliminates the cost associated with installation of a separate silt trap and the need for a larger tank by allowing 100% capacity of the tank volume to be utilised.

Easy maintenanceThe man way access riser is 600mm diameter and is positioned directly over the silt trap for ease of maintenance. Internal adjustable extension risers or external extension risers are also available if required.

Underground Tanks

StormLite® Potable Water Tanks are made from potable water grade virgin polyethylene plastic.

Save precious water by rain harvesting and storing water until needed. Made to suit your required capacity Potable Water Tanks have a flanged water and dirt tight lid to prevent unwanted ingress of contamination while still allowing easy access for inspection and maintenance.

StormLite® Trade Waste Tanks come with a 600mm manway and a flanged water tight lid to allow easy access and prevent contamination by unwanted water ingress.

StormLite® Tanks are lightweight but robust therefore making installation quicker and more cost effective.

StormLite® Tanks are all individually made from a grade of polyethylene

plastic to suit your specific application to ensure correct material

compatibility. They are available in 1200mm diameter, and any length to

suit your required capacity, with fittings configured to your specific needs.

DnP1200 Sewage Pumping StationAt the heart of our pumping station is the tough, ultra reliable progressive cavity grinder pump with high head capability, designed specifically for low pressure sewage systems

In combination with the tank design, level controls and ease of serviceability, our pump station translates into a powerful design to provide the highest levels of reliability and maintainability.

Engineered Tank Based on our time proven underground detention tank designs, this robust tank has been designed by FEA analysis to meet the requirements of ARMACOP 15 for underground Septic tanks. The tank has a capacity of 1200L which reduces pump cycling and wear and provides a much greater buffer in the case of power failures or other issues. The tank has a tapered base to minimize the residual volume in the tank.

Controller The controller is housed in a IP67 rated enclosure and contains:

• Isolation switch • Alarm light & buzzer • Selectable mute options • Pump overload & high level

alarm functions

Large Diameter Grinder AssemblyThe pump features a large diameter cutter and grinder assembly to ensure all solids can be ground into fine pieces to pass easily through the pump. In addition the cutter and cutter ring are made from Stainless Steel 440 and are replaceable when required.

Progressive Pump Our unique pump system, driven by 1.1kW motor turning at 1450 rpm, produces greater grinding torque eliminating jams. The submersible pump is of a progressive cavity design that provides a constant predictable pump output which is the foundation for proper hydraulic design.

Serviceability The pump, level sensing systems and motor controls can easily be removed for servicing when required. With quick release fittings for electrical connections and piping, it all adds up to one of the easiest units on the market for servicing and maintenance.
