NWAG COLLABORATING WITH

EKO CLUB INTERNATIONAL

(ECI)

Day 1 – Isale Eko, Lagos We began our first day at the heart of Lagos Island – Isale

Eko. Our host was Oba Akiolu. Despite the torrential rain,

there was a large crowd already waiting in line when we got

there. They were so happy to see us!

Day 1 – Isale Eko, Lagos

Day 2 – Isolo Local Govt., Lagos

Our project took place at the palace of our host, Oba Kabiru

Agbabiaka, the Iga Osolo of Isolo. This day went a lot

smoother because there was no rain, the space was bigger

and we corrected mistakes from Day 1. We saw one of our

saddest stories here – a stage IV cancer patient!

Day 2 – Isolo Local Govt., Lagos

Day 3 – Ikorodu Town Hall

This was one of the farthest places we visited and the

location with the largest space so far. As with the others,

there was a huge crowd awaiting our arrival.

Day 3 – Ikorodu Town Hall

DAY 3-IKORODU TOWN HALL

Day 4 – Babcock University (BUTH) NWAG took a day off from the Medical Mission to hold a Training

Mission at Babcock University Teaching Hospital (BUTH) in Ogun State.

In addition to providing training on Hospice Care, Palliative Care,

Wound Care and CPR, NWAG also made a donation of two (2) CPR Dummies as well as a check for N50,000 to the HIV children’s ward.

Day 4 – Babcock University Ogun State

TRAINING

Day 4 – Babcock University

Day 5 – Agbowa Ikosi It took us about two (2) hours to get to this location! We also saw some really

bad cases here – cancer, malnutrition, etc. Sadly, it was also the location

where we spent the shortest time because it took so long to get there and

we had to head out early to make it back to Ikeja before it got too late. This

was the only location where we didn’t get to see all the patients in line.

Day 5 – Agbowa Ikosi

Conclusion • Our participation in this Medical Mission trip speaks

to NWAG’s – “Together We Achieve”. By

collaborating with organizations with similar mission

as ours, we are able to reach more people and

touch more lives.

• The medical team included general practitioners,

dentists, opticians, pediatricians, Ob-gyn,

psychiatrists, nurse practitioners and nurses.

• Thousands of patients were seen, diagnosed and

given medications.

• Eko Club International is still compiling a

comprehensive report so we do not have the total

number of patients seen. • However, we do know that the most common

diagnoses were High Blood Pressure, aches & pains

and diabetes.
