WATER• Definition: transparent, odourless, tasteless liquid• any fluid you drink will contain water• Every cell depends on water to survive• Cant survive more than a few days without it• Makes up more than half your body weight• Dehydration can make you sick• Has no calories• Without it your body would stop working• Water is the main ingredient In sweating• Sources

CARBOHYDRATES• Definition: group of compounds that contain carbon, hydrogen

and oxygen can be broken down to give the body energy• Types:

– Complex– Simple– High glycemic– Low glycemic– Refined– Unrefined

• Complex aren't as easy to digest as Simple• High glycemic carbs raise blood sugar levels fast• Refined carbs are not altered to increase shelf life• Sources:

FATS• Definition: food source of energy• Types:

– Saturated – Unsaturated– Trans fats

• Provide energy• Keep body warm• Protect vital organs from impact• Needed for absorption of fat-soluble vitamins • Men need 90g of fat per day• Women need 65g of fat per day• Sources:
