EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Pacific Four SAC is a company dedicated to commercialize snacks of marine
species taking advantages of the biodiversity in the hydrobiology resources of our
country. The product that we have chosen to introduce in the international market
is the “Giant Squid Snacks”.
The Giant Squid contains a high nutritious value since it has proteins, vitamins like
the B3 and B12. Furthermore, Nutripot has minerals like phosphorus, potassium,
magnesium and its low fat contribution.
According to our recent market research, we have found that China is the major
world-wide importer of Peruvian giant squid due to its particular flavor and
components. Also, this country has a high internal consumption and, at the same
time, they re-export the product with added value. Comparing to other countries of
destination, China offers bigger opportunities by its commercial relationship with
Peru and to the best conditions of market access.
Furthermore, there is a tendency in the consumption of nutritious food with added
value, especially in teenagers between 15 and 19 years old, who live in Shanghai
which is our target market. In addition, we want to receive a positive social impact,
by means of a strategic alliance with companies that use clean technologies and
do not damage the environment in the process of production of ours snacks.
Otherwise, the company requires an investment of about USD 58,590.94 and is
economically and financially profitable, with a NPV of USD 346,294 and the IRR of
237%. In this way, the commercial, technical and economic project viability is
shown to create and begin this project.
COMPANY PROFILE
Pacific four S.A.C. was created by four shareholders in 2009. We saw a business
opportunity in the Asian market, more specifically in China which is one of the top
importers of giant squid from our country. We will also give an additional value to
this product, elaborating giant squid snacks.
PACIFIC FOUR S.A.C. is a legal entity, under the modality of Closed Anonymous
Society (SAC in spanish) in 406 Nicanor Garcia y Lastres Street LIMA 31 - PERU.
The main objective of Pacific Four SAC is the commercialization of seafood
snacks. Our country is rich in biodiversity and there is an abundancy of hydro-
biologic resources in our coasts.
PACIFIC FOUR S.A.C. now have six shareholders working for having the best
profits possible. We also have a well-trained providers like PRODUMAR,
SEAFROST, Distribuidora Casablanca, etc. They have been picked according to
our needs.
We have as main competitors Pepsi Co and Calbee Food in China, they offer
many kind of seafood snacks as well as fruit and sweet snacks around the world,
specially to the Asian Market. They both reach almost 60% of the Market share in
China, however, there is a 30% available in this Market for new companies.
Despite of what these companies offer, we try to focus on a market niche because
we are a healthy alternative, besides our product is made of Peruvian giant squid
pulp, which is the most demanded in the world because of its particular flavor and
nutritional properties.
We have the HACCP, SQF 2000 and BASC Certificates which ensure the quality
of our product and make NUTRIPOT unique; therefore it does not have direct
national or international competitors.
After analyzing this project, he have noticed the following problems:
• Other positioned companies in China could copy our product.
• The giant squid prices are very sensible to the market.
• Dollar’s fluctuation.
• Distance between our country and China.
For all of the problems above, we have thought in some solutions:
• To use marine transport, allowing us to expor in bigger quantities.
• To diversify our products with other marine species.
• To enter other markets near ours, with a stable economy.
