Nutrient losses in peat soils - background1. Water Framework Directive reduce N and P

loads to surface water

2. How can we reduce N and P loads to surface water?

3. What is the origin of N and P in surface water?

4. How can we control the various sources of N and P in surface water? To understand effects of measures to reduce N and P loading of surface water, we need to understand the entire N and P cycle.

Nutrient losses in peat soils - introduction1. Research approach in the Vlietpolder

2. Contribution of agriculture to N leaching of surface water

3. Dynamics of N losses in peat soils

4. Comparison of N dynamics in peat soils with mineral soils

Nutrient losses from peat soil - conclusions
