Welcome to our new issue of Nozzom, where we share with you our events, projects and plans.

For this issue, we have changed things up a bit. It is Nozzom with a bit of a twist, so that it touches on events that have inspired us and introduces us to countries we have only heard about or dreamed of visiting.

These past months, there have been various amazing initiatives that have been inspiring and working towards a common vision. A vision for empowering youth to excel, create and innovate.

Creativity and innovation stem from imagination. It pushes us to discover possibilities and allows us to create. What was once viewed as science fiction is now our actual reality. We live in an interconnected sort of network, where everything is connected and interrelated. What affects one element, affects, directly or even indirectly, the other. The stronger and more involved the network is, the stronger and more robust it will be. The more we are involved in building and collaborating, the more we can create incredible experiences and support each other to advance as a whole.

With that in mind, we can look at our world for what it is and what it can be. We can understand how we can create a stronger future with innovation, openness, and sharing of knowledge and experiences. It does not suffice to want that future and that reality. It takes willingness and grit, as well as all of us pulling together to push the boundaries of creativity.

الرؤية من المقدمةأهالً بكم ىف طبعة جديدة من "نظم"، حيث نشارككم أخبارنا، مشاريعنا وخططنا املستقبلية.

قد قمنا بتغيري بعض األمور يف هذا العدد إذ سرتون "نظم" يف شكل جديد حيث نشارك معكم األحداث التي ألهمتنا ونقدم لكم معلومات عن األماكن التي سمعنا عنها ونتمني أن نزورها. يف خالل

األشهر املاضية، كان هناك العديد من املبادرات املدهشة التي الهمتنا وحفزتنا للسعي من أجل تحقيق روئية مشرتكة لنا جميعا. وهي رؤية متكن الشباب وتشجعهم عيل التميز واإلبداع واإلبتكار.

إن اإلبداع واإلبتكار ينبعان من الخيال، والخيال يدفع بنا إىل إكتشاف اإلمكانيات ويسمح لنا باإلبداع، وما كنا ننظر إليه عيل أنه خيال علمي أصبح اآلن واقعنا الفعيل. نحن نعيش يف شبكة

متصلة ومرتابطة، حيث يرتابط كل يشء. وما يؤثر عىل عنرص واحد، يؤثر بصورة مبارشة أو غري مبارشة عيل عنرص آخر. وكلام كانت الشبكة قوية ومرتابطة، كلام ستكون أقوي وأمنت. وكلام كنا

مشرتكني يف البناء والتعاون، كلام أستطعنا أن نخلق خربات وتجارب جديدة وندعم بعضنا البعض للتقدم ككيان واحد.

إذا أخذنا ذلك يف اإلعتبار، سنتمكن من النظر إيل عاملنا وفهمه عيل ما هو عليه وعيل ما ميكن أن يكون. كام سيمكننا معرفة كيفية خلق مستقبل أفضل أساسه اإلبتكار، واإلنفتاح، وتبادل املعارف

Inauguration of Al Hassa Irrigation Project by His Highness Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud

Al Hassa Irrigation Project was inaugurated by His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Governor of the Eastern Region in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia last February. Attending the inauguration were His Highness Prince Badr bin Mohammed bin Jalawi, Governor of Al Hassa, and Agriculture Minister Abdul Rahman al-Fadhli.

Aiming to modernize the irrigation system in Al Hassa by converting it from open canal irrigation to closed pipes irrigation, Al Hassa Irrigation project is part of a massive program undertaken by the Ministry of Agriculture, KSA, to revitalize the country’s infrastructure and achieve sustainability of resources.

In collaboration with Civil Works Company (CWC), Giza Arabia completed the project in Zone 6 of the Eastern Region for Al Hassa Irrigation and Drainage Authority, KSA. The new irrigation method will rationalize the use of irrigation water and develop the existing irrigation and drainage network, while ensuring optimization of water management and distribution. The rehabilitation and development of this vital project marks a tremendous shift towards automation and process control to raise agricultural productivity, efficiency, and sustainability.

Giza Arabia worked on the design, supply, engineering, supervision of installation, commissioning and startup of a wide range of the solutions. The solutions included SCADA, remote terminal units, wireless solutions, field instruments, control valves and farmer outlets hydrometers, in addition to MODBUS communication technology that was implemented for the first time in the area for irrigation projects. The various solutions were deployed together with the unique design for farmer outlet hydrometers and open range wireless 2.4 GHz data radios. The solutions were integrated into a smart system design and

control philosophy that is capable of monitoring and controlling 3090 farmer outlets using real time data.

Al Hassa Zone 6 Project was an exceptionally significant project for Giza Arabia, as it was the first mega project for SCADA and Field Solutions Line of Businesses in KSA. Owing to its resounding efforts and advanced solutions, Giza Arabia has subsequently won 7 new additional irrigation projects in Al Hassa region.

Ashraf Attia, Giza Arabia Country Manager, stated, "It is a true privilege for Giza Arabia to have completed a project of this magnitude that tackles the core issues of modernization of irrigation systems and sustainability of water resources. Optimization of water resources and conservation of agricultural lands are at the forefront of sustainability for nations’ growth and prosperity. We are looking forward to replicating our success in the following phases and participating in the massive plan for the modernization process."

About Al Hassa Irrigation and Drainage Authority (HIDA) Al Hassa Irrigation and Drainage Authority is part of the Ministry of Agriculture and is in charge of hydrological studies and data collection to improve the use of crop water requirements, irrigation water distribution to the farms and the operation and maintenance of irrigation and drainage canal systems in the irrigation schemed managed by the Ministry.

About Civil Works Company (CWC)CWC is a technology oriented, engineering, construction, operation and maintenance company. By any standards of similar companies, it is one of the largest and most reputed companies in Saudi Arabia’s private sector.

دشن صاحب السمو املليك األمري سعود بن نايف بن عبد العزيز آل سعود، أمري املنطقة الرشقية

اإلحتفال صاحب اإلحساء. وحرض هذا منطقة للري يف السعودية، مرشوعاً العربية باململكة

الرحمن عبد املهندس الزراعة ووزير األحساء، محافظ بنجلوي بن محمد بدر األمري السمو

الفضيل.

ومن أجل تحديث نظام الري يف منطقة األحساء وتحويله من قنوات ري مفتوحة إيل نظام ري

بأنابيب مغلقة، قامت وزارة الزراعة يف اململكة العربية السعودية بتنفيذ مرشوع ري منطقة

األحساء الذي يعد جزء من برنامج ضخم لتنشيط بنية البلد التحتية وتحقيق إستدامة املوارد.

"٦" يف املنطقة املرشوع يف العربية أكملت رشكة جيزة املدنية، األعامل وبالتعاون مع رشكة

األقليم الرشقي لصالح هيئة الري والرصف يف منطقة األحساء بالسعودية. وسيقوم نظام الري

تحسني مع ضامن الحالية، والرصف الري شبكة وتطوير الري مياه إستخدام برتشيد الجديد

إدارة وتوزيع املياه. ويعد تأهيل وتطوير هذا املرشوع الحيوي عالمة عيل التحول الهائل نحو

التشغيل اآليل والتحكم يف العمليات لرفع اإلنتاجية الزراعية والكفاءة واإلستدامة.

الرتكيب وإختبارات التصميم والتوريد والهندسة واإلرشاف عيل بتنفيذ العربية وقامت جيزة

ووحدات "سكادا" نظام النظم تلك وتشمل النظم. من كبرية مجموعة وتقديم التشغيل،

املحطات عن بعد واألنظمة الالسلكية واألدوات امليدانية وصاممات التحكم وعدادات منافذ

املياه الزراعية باإلضافة إيل تكنولوجيا إتصاالت )MODBUS( التي تم تنفيذها ألول مرة يف

مجال مرشوعات الري. ولقد تم نرش النظم املختلفة مع التصميم الفريد لعدادات منافذ املياه

الرزاعية والسليك البيانات املفتوح املدي. ولقد أصبحت النظم متكاملة يف تصميم النظام الذيك

والتحكم الذي يستطيع مراقبة ۳٠٩٠ منفذ مياه زراعية بإستخدام بيانات زمنية فعلية.

ويعد مرشوع املنطقة "٦" يف األحساء مرشوع إستثنايئ هام بالنسبة لرشكة جيزة العربية حيث

أنه كان أول مرشوع ضخم بالنسبة لخط أعامل "سكادا" وخط األعامل الحقلية يف السعودية.

وبفضل جهودها املنترشة وأنظمتها املتقدمة، حصلت رشكة جيزة العربية عيل سبع مرشوعات

ري إضافية جديدة يف منطقة األحساء.

العربية جيزة لرشكة حقيقي إمتياز "إنه العربية جيزة عام رشكة مدير عطية، أرشف وعلق

املوارد الري وإستدامة لتحديث نظم يتناول قضايا أساسية الضخامة، بهذه تنجز مرشوع أن

عن هيئة الري والرصف يف منطقة األحساء

الدراسات عن املسئولة وهي الزراعة لوزارة تابعة األحساء منطقة يف والرصف الري هيئة

الهيدرولوجية وتجميع البيانات لتطوير إستخدام متطلبات ري املحاصيل وتوزيع مياه الري عيل

املزارع وتشغيل وصيانة نظم الري وترع الرصف يف خطة الري التي تديرها الوزارة.

عن رشكة األعامل املدنية

رشكة األعامل املدنية هي رشكة ذات توجهات تكنولوجيا يف األعامل الهندسية واإلنشائية وأعامل

التشغيل والصيانة. ومقارنة بأي مستويات قياسية للرشكات املامثلة لها، تعد الرشكة إحدي أكرب

وأشهر الرشكات يف القطاع الخاص يف السعودية.

Agiba Petroleum Company Awards Giza Systems the Wellhead Control Panel Project at the Meleiha Gas Plant

Agiba Petroleum Company has recently awarded Giza Systems the Wellhead Control Panel Project at the Meleiha Gas Plant. Its scope of work includes the design, engineering, supply and commissioning of 7 Electro-Hydraulic Wellhead Control Panels (WHCP) to be used for operating wells at the Meleiha gas plant in the Western Desert, Egypt. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Capitalizing on Giza Systems’ vast references in the Oil & Gas sector and the Giza Systems Free Zone (GSFZ) facility capable of handling the Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Agiba awarded the project with confidence in the design and proposed technical implementation.

Ahmed Kamal, Chief Commercial Officer, stated, "Our team, with special reference to Mohamed Sabry, Senior Account Manager, and Hesham Abdel Meguid, Sales Manager, has been working closely with Agiba to ensure the deployment of a state-of-the-art WHCP solution that will optimize performance and process stability."

He added, "We take great pride in this significant award. It reflects our capabilities and experience in vertical integration, which is our key differentiator in the market. It is one of our unique projects that combines our core competencies in process control, technology infrastructure, field solutions, and transmission and distribution to provide Agiba with a fully integrated solution aimed to enhance gas production."

The implementation of the project hinges on various lines of business in Giza Systems working together to deploy the solution within a very tight delivery time. To deliver the complete integrated solution will require the following approach: • In order to regulate the wellhead and the "Christmas tree,"

which refers to an assembly of valves, spools, and fittings used for various wells, the Field Solutions line of business will install a hydraulic system. The hydraulic system consists of valves to regulate the pressure inside the gas pipeline and will be instrumental for the required emergency shutdown.

• The Process Control team will work on the control logic and schemes applied to the hydraulic systems to ensure timely response to alarms and smooth user operations and interface.

The safety and shutdown procedures will adhere to international functional safety standards IEC 61508/61511.

• The Transmission and Distribution line of business will install a solar energy system to provide the necessary power for wellhead operations in the remote location. The photo cells supplied are highly reliable and designed to maintain wellhead operations and shutdown readiness all throughout the year, even in the presence of clouds.

• The 7 wellheads will be connected to the central control room through wireless communication. The Transportation & Technology Infrastructure line of business will install the field devices installed by to provide steady and continuous communication, relying primarily on WiMAX technology, and secondarily on GSM as a backup.

Mohamed Sabry, Senior Account Manager at Giza Systems, states, "We are confident in our teams’ conception and ability to provide a fully integrated solution capable of integration with the existing systems to ensure delivery across all stages of the project. This will allow for an increase in gas production, and higher quality and safety levels, which is critical when working within an actively producing field, to ensure minimal operational interruption."

The integrated WHCP solution is to be designed on a portable skid to facilitate the future usage of the solution at different wellheads. It effectively integrates with the existing systems and is scalable to accommodate future additions. With the 10 years availability of spare parts and the after sales support, this solution will provide an excellent return on investment for our client.

About AgibaAgiba was founded in 1981 as an operating company for the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), Agypetco Oil & Gas Exploration (A.G.) presently IEOC B.V., in the areas covered by the petroleum concession agreement between the government of the Arab Republic of Egypt, EGPC and Agypetco, commonly referred to as the merged agreement issued by the law No. 5/1978 in Meleiha Concession and by law No. 20/1978 in West Razzak area in the Western Desert.

الغربية مبرص. ومن املتوقع أن يكتمل املرشوع بحلول نهاية العام الجاري.

ولإلستفادة من سابقة أعامل رشكة جيزة سيستمز الهائلة يف قطاع النفط والغاز وإمكانات رشكة

،)FAT( وقدرتها عىل القيام بإختبار قبول املصانع )GSFZ( جيزة سيستمز للمناطق الحرة

قامت رشكة عجيبة للبرتول مبنح املرشوع للرشكة وكلها ثقة يف قدرتها عىل التصميم والتنفيذ

الفني املقرتح.

بصفة اإلشارة مع "فريقنا، أن: التجارية للعمليات التنفيذي الرئيس كامل، أحمد ذكر ولقد

لتطبيق معاً تعمل أن جيزة سيستمز مختلفة يف أعامل من خطوط املرشوع تنفيذ يتطلب

الحلول يف غضون فرتة زمنية ضيقة جداً. ومن أجل تسليم حلول كاملة ومتكاملة، سيتطلب

إتباع النهج التايل:

يف املستخدمة والتجهيزات واللفائف، الصاممات، ومجموعة اآلبار تنظيم أجل من

هيدرولييك. نظام برتكيب بالرشكة الحقلية األعامل حلول خط سيقوم اآلبار، مختلف

العمليات وشاشات التحكم. وتلتزم إجراءات السالمة واإلغالق مبعايري السالمة الوظيفية

سيقوم فريق إدارة النقل والتوزيع للكهرباء برتكيب نظام للطاقة الشمسية لتوليد الطاقة

الالزمة لعمليات اآلبار يف األماكن النائية. تتمتع الخاليا الضوئية املوردة بالكفائة حيث

أنها مصممة للحفاظ عىل عمليات اآلبار وإغالقها عند اللزوم عىل مدار السنة، وتعمل يف

شتى الظروف حتي أثناء الغيوم.

إتصاالت شبكة طريق عن املركزية التحكم بغرفة السبعة اآلبار رؤوس ربط سيتم

السلكية. وسيقوم خط أعامل النقل وتكنولوجيا البنية التحتية برتكيب األجهزة امليدانية

لتوفري وسيلة إتصال تعتمد بشكل أسايس عىل تقنية الواي ماكس، وبشكل ثانوي عىل جي

إس إم )GSM( كوسيلة إتصال بديلة.

محمد صربى، مدير أول مبيعات برشكة جيزة سيستمز قال: "نحن واثقون من إمكانات فرقنا

املختلفة وقدرتهم عىل توفري حل متكامل قادر عىل التكامل مع النظم القامئة لتسليم مطابق

عرب كافة مراحل املرشوع، مام يسمح بزيادة إنتاج الغاز ورفع الجودة ومستويات األمان، وهي

أمور حاسمة بالنسبة للعمل يف حقل غاز منتج ونشط لضامن الحد األدىن من إنقطاع التشغيل."

Setting New Record at BAPETCo Obayeid Gas Plant, Phase 1 Badr Petroleum Company (BAPETCo) contracted Enppi and Giza Systems for the Obayied Gas Plant Project, located in the Western Desert, Egypt. Due to the critical nature of the plant, the success of the project was crucial for BAPETCo, as the Obayied Gas Plant produces one third of the Egyptian natural gas.

Capitalizing on the track record and vast experience of both Enppi and Giza Systems in the Oil & Gas field, BAPETCo awarded them the supply, engineering, commissioning and startup of the Distributed Control System (DCS). The migration to the new system will modernize the gas plant, so that it reaches higher performance levels and smoother operations.

"We are extremely proud to be working with Enppi on a project of this scale and significance. Considered as one of the most critical plants in the Oil & Gas field in Egypt, it was tremendously gratifying to achieve a new record at Obayied Gas Plant and provide the necessary support to BAPETCo," commented Yasser Al-Abassery, Process Control Line of Business General Manager at Giza Systems.

During the preparation phase of the project, which lasted around 5 months, Giza Systems worked on the supply and engineering of the Honeywell DCS. To migrate from the old system, the Giza Systems team, with cooperation from Enppi and BAPETCo teams, carried out a reverse engineering for the old system in order to prepare the design inputs to be used for the new system. The team then mapped the input into the new system. To ensure the transfer of knowledge, Giza Systems also trained more than 50 Bapetco employees at its premises on the new technology.

The first phase of the system migration took place in May 2015 during a planned shutdown period. As a result of proper planning and teamwork, Giza Systems was able to migrate in two days.

The migration period was a new record for Giza Systems, as it was ahead of the scheduled four and a half days of shutdown.

Mahmoud Shalaby, Senior Systems Engineer at Giza Systems, and the project lead, stated, "Thanks to the collaborative efforts and remarkable team spirit, we were able to set a new record. It was a real demonstration of the know-how of the various teams, and a tribute to their dedication to quality and professionalism that paved the way to a smooth transition and optimal performance levels. We are truly looking forward to the implementation of the second phase, as well as future collaborations with Ennpi and BAPETCo."

About Badr El Din Petroleum Company (BAPETCo)The Badr El Din Petroleum Company (BAPETCo) was formed in the early 1980s, as joint venture between Shell and the Egyptian General Petroleum Cooperation. BAPETCo is responsible for the development and production of Shell’s fields in the Western Dessert. تحقيق إنجاز جديد في محطة غاز بابيتكو باألوبيض، المرحلة األولى

إنبي ورشكة جيزة سيستمز من بالتعاقد مع رشكة )بابيتكو( للبرتول الدين بدر قامت رشكة

املرشوع طبيعة وبسبب الغربية. "األوبيض" يف صحراء مرص غاز تنفيذ مرشوع حقول أجل

الحساسة، كان نجاحه حاسامً بالنسبة لرشكة بابيتكو ألن حقول غاز األوبيض تنتج ثلث الغاز

الطبيعي املرصي.

إنبي بابيتكو إىل كل من رشكة الواسعة، عهدت رشكة إىل سجل أعاملهام وخرباتهام وإستناداً

ورشكة جيزة سيستمز بأعامل التوريدات والتصميامت والتجهيزات لتشغيل نظام التحكم املوزع

)DCS( مبحطة األوبيض للغاز. واإلنتقال إىل النظام الجديد سيؤدي إىل تحديث محطة الغاز

حتي تصل إىل أعىل مستويات األداء وإىل عمليات أكرث سالسة.

توريدات وهندسة نظام التحكم املوزع الخاص برشكة هانيويل. ولإلنتقال من النظام القديم،

كان فريق رشكة جيزة سيستمز يف حاجة إىل العمل عىل الهندسة العكسية ملدخالت التصميم

املقدمة من قبل العميل ملواكبة التكنولوجيا الحديثة. وقام الفريق عندئذ برسم وإعداد خرائط

املدخالت الجديدة إلستخدامها يف النظام الحديث. ولضامن نقل هذه املعرفة وتطبيق سلس

للتكنولوجيا الجديدة، قامت جيزة سيستمز بتدريب أكرث من 5٠ موظف من رشكة بابيتكو عىل

التكنولوجيا الجديدة يف مقرها.

ولقد تم تنفيذ املرحلة األوىل من تشغيل النظام خالل مايو ۲٠15 أثناء فرتة إغالق تم اإلتفاق

عليها مسبقاً. وكنتيجة للتخطيط السليم لفريق العمل، متكن الفريق من تحقيق إنجاز قيايس

التشغيل إيقاف أن متتد فرتة املقرر كان من يومني فقط يف حني التشغيل خالل عن طريق

ألربعة أيام ونصف.

Petrokemya Recognizes Khaled Mostafa for his Outstanding Performance The collaboration between Honeywell and Giza Systems proves, yet again, to be a major success. Honeywell Turki Arabia Limited "HTAL" and Giza Systems joined efforts on a large scale project for the Arabian Petrochemical Company, Petrokemya, a subsidiary of Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC).

The collaborative efforts of the team were truly exemplary in the implementation of this project ensuring that the highest standards were met. With the successful execution of the project, Petrokemya recognized, Khaled Mostafa, Senior System Engineer at Giza Systems assigned to the project, for his outstanding performance. Throughout the various stages of the project, Khaled assumed ownership and exhibited the highest degrees of dedication.

"Khaled was a role model on-site; his hard work, commitment and dedication were truly commendable. During the few months that he worked on the Petrokemya project, he was able to demonstrate the core values of Giza Systems and exemplify the competencies and skills of our team," stated Yasser Al-Abassery, Process Control Line of Business General Manager at Giza Systems.

The project involved replacing the installed Zener barriers with a new MTL solution compatible with the existing Honeywell HPM System. This necessitated the removal of the old barriers and termination boards followed by the installation of the new Field Termination Assembly (FTA) boards with embedded MTL barriers.

Though there were various challenges during the project, the team completed the implementation phase in record time. All the installation work including removal of the old barriers and old termination boards, as well as the set-up of the new FTA cabinets, was carried out in a minimal shutdown period lasting only 8 days. In addition to the tight shutdown period, some live signals needed to remain operational on-site, which required a hot switchover for some activities. The hot switchover rendered completing the necessary works even more challenging within the tight shutdown schedule; yet the team was able to meet head on the challenges and carry out the scope in record time.

Moreover, during the course of the project, Giza Systems created a new database that would facilitate the automatic modifications of all

drawings through a simple update. To implement this task, the team exerted extensive efforts to collect data from different sources and map the files. As a result, 1140 loop drawings were generated using "AutoCAD Powerful Tools V2".

The project leveraged the expertise and know-how of both Honeywell Turki Arabia Limited "HTAL" and Giza Systems in another successful project and fruitful partnership in the Oil & Gas sector.

وكانت جهود الفريق املتعاون مثال يحتذى به يف تنفيذ هذا املرشوع الذي عمل عىل تحقيق

أعىل املعايري. ومع التنفيذ الناجح للمرشوع، قامت برتوكيميا بتكريم خالد مصطفى، من كبار

مهنديس النظم يف جيزة سيستمز واملسؤول عن املرشوع، ألداءه املتميز. وأثناء املراحل املختلفة

للمرشوع، توىل خالد املهام املوكلة إليه بإهتامم وأظهر أعىل درجات التفاين.

"إن خالد مثال يحتذى به يف موقع العمل، كان عمله الجاد وإلتزامه وتفانيه أمر جدير بالثناء

بحل بالفعل املثبتة )Zener Barrier( الضوئية زيرن حواجز إستبدال املرشوع وتضمن

الحواجز إزالة ذلك وإستلزم هانيويل. من القائم HPM نظام مع متوافق جديد MTL Field Termination( الضوئية القدمية ومنصة اإلنهاء ثم تركيب لوحات تثبيت األسالك

Assembly( ذات حواجز MTL املدمجة.

وبالرغم من وجود العديد من التحديات أثناء تنفيذ املرشوع، متكن الفريق من إكامل مرحلة

التنفيذ يف وقت قيايس. تم تنفيذ جميع أعامل الرتكيب مبا يف ذلك إزالة الحواجز ومنصة اإلنهاء

القدمية، وتركيب كبائن لوحات تثبيت األسالك الجديدة، يف فرتة إغالق دامت مثانية أيام فقط.

اإلشارات بعض تشغيل عىل اإلبقاء إستوجب القصرية، الفرتة تلك يف اإلنتهاء إىل وباإلضافة

الحيوية الالزمة للموقع. ولقد جعل العمل يف ظروف التبديل أثناء التشغيل يف منظومة التحكم

Sanad Hospital awarded Giza Arabia the IP-enabled Video Surveillance Project for its facilities. Located in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, Sanad Hospital is a private healthcare facility renowned for its quality of service provided by its 800 globally highly skilled employees.

Aligned with its strategy for expansion and its continuous investment in state-of-the-art technology, Sanad Hospital awarded the project to Giza Arabia for its various references in Building Management Solutions and its advanced integrated systems portfolio. Giza Arabia Attends STC 3rd Vendor Day Event As one of the main strategic vendors for STC, Giza Arabia was invited by Dr. Khaled Biyari, STC Chief Operating Officer, and Mr. Cyril Pourrat, STC Procurement and Support Services VP, to take part in the 3rd STC Vendor Day at STC Headquarters in Riyadh on April 28th 2015.

The event brought together a selected number of leading STC suppliers and partners that contribute in providing STC with dependable and efficient solutions. During the event, STC Senior Executives shared with the attendees key strategies going forward for the various Business Units. The various strategies emphasized the importance of value creation for STC customers, deployment of latest technological trends, cost effective solutions, and development of local talents.

STC Vendor Day enabled top executives to discuss the various challenges faced, as well as the greatest achievements of the year with their vendor community. Cyril Pourrat, VP of Procurement expounded on the meaningful achievements that procurement had made to support STC growth and challenges. He also announced their nomination as a finalist in "Procurement Leaders Awards" scheduled to come out end of May 2015 in London.

Emerson and Giza Systems Hold Joint Seminar on "Ovation" Distributed Control Solution Stepping up efforts to meet the exigent demands of the Power industry in Egypt, Emerson and Giza Systems hosted a seminar showcasing the newest "Ovation" Distributed Control Systems Solution for power plants. The seminar was held on 11th June, 2015, at Dusit Thani Hotel, in New Cairo, Egypt.

PetroPoint is a wireless system that can be customized based on customer requirements and scale of operations. It relies on radio transmission of all relevant data such as vehicle recognition, odometer

readings, and operation hours. Once the data is transmitted, authorization is initiated for the appropriate fuel dispensers to be automatically triggered based on the authorization received. Any petrol station could be equipped with PetroPoint. The installation process is easy and the cost for conversion is very low. Depending on the needed requirements, the modular structure allows for different versions and options to be selected to easily accommodate for future scalability and add-ons.

Who is Responsible for Information Security at your Workplace?A common question that is often asked across the board in all organizations is: who is in charge of information security? Is it IT Staff, IT Management, Facility Management, Senior Management or Company Staff?

The answer is simply: Everyone!Everyone has a responsibility towards information security in their own area:• IT Staff implements and maintains information security controls in

coordination with other teams• IT Management is responsible for setting policies, strategies,

insights and plans• Facility Management handles all physical and environmental

controls including perimeter security, access control, firefighting, etc.

• Senior Management enables empowering policies and leads by example

• All Staff share the responsibility of complying to corporate policies

The CIA TriadGenerally, information security is interpreted to signify the protection of information using access control and encryption methods. This is not a precise interpretation, as actually, Information Security covers three crucial aspects referred to as the CIA triad: Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability.

Confidentiality: Confidentiality is very similar to privacy. It is about designing and carrying out measures to prevent sensitive information from reaching the wrong people, while enabling the right people to have access to it. It is imperative that access is restricted to those authorized to view the data in question. Besides classifying confidentiality in terms of authorized personnel, some organizations categorize it based on data with respect to the amount and type of damage that could be done should it fall into the wrong hands. In all cases, different measures, varying in stringency, can be implemented to suit the categories needed in the organization. Depending on the strictness levels needed, safeguarding data confidentiality includes strong passwords, data encryption, storage encryption and additional protection methods such as biometric controls. In addition, it could also encompass awareness training

for those authorized to access the documents to cover security risks that could threaten this information and have potentially disastrous results in case of disclosure.

Integrity: data integrity is about ensuring the consistency, accuracy, and trustworthiness of data over its entire life cycle. The integrity of the data needs to be secured so that there are no unauthorized changes made to it either by accident or malicious intent. Data integrity protection measures include file permissions, user access controls, and version controls. Furthermore, organizations should incorporate safeguards that can detect any changes in data that might occur as a result of non-human-caused events such as an electromagnetic pulse or server crash. Generally, backups or redundancies such as RAID storage are the most common measures in place to restore the affected data to its intact state.

Availability: The best way to ensure availability is by performing thorough and rigorous maintenance. This encompasses the maintenance of all hardware, carrying out immediate repairs, diligently preserving a stable operating system environment free of software conflicts, and keeping up-to-date with all necessary system upgrades. Another crucial element to availability is ensuring adequate communication bandwidth. Information Security measures against

data loss or interruptions in connections need to take into account unpredictable events such as natural disasters and fire. To prevent data loss in these instances, it is advisable to have a backup copy safely stored in different premises or in an-isolated location such as a fireproof, waterproof safe. Additional security equipment or software, like firewalls and proxy servers to name only a few can reinforce security against downtime and unreachable data due to malicious

actions such as denial-of-service (DoS) attacks and network intrusions.

By having in place redundancy, failover, RAID even high-

availability clusters can mitigate serious consequences in the case of hardware issues. Essentially, organizations need to have a comprehensive, fast and adaptive disaster recovery plan (DRP)

Information Security Policies and Procedures

Information security policy consists in the

various policies issued by an organization to

ensure that all information technology users within the

domain of the organization or its networks comply with rules and

guidelines related to the security of the information stored digitally at any point

in the network or within the organization’s boundaries of authority.

Procedures are derived from policies to elaborate on the implementation and testing of the controls within the scope of

those policies. It is highly recommended to carry out information security awareness programs in order to communicate policies and procedure to all users. The proper implementation of the organization’s Information Security Policy serves to protect business confidential data against threats; ensure adherence and conformance to regulatory requirements; and most importantly protect the brand. The organization’s brand is its promise to its customers. Compliance

to such policies becomes a business driver, as it acts as a pledge to clients that their data is confidential, safe and secure.

Best Practices for Every Day • Clear Identification: always visibly wear your identification badge.

Do not hold the door or grant access to anyone without clear identification. Always remember that you have the right to ask anyone you suspect within company premises for their business ID.

• Never Share Passwords: passwords are unique to each user in order to grant them access based on their authorization level. Never share them or write them down in a visible location.

• Clear Desk Policy: You should always lock your business documents and not leave them exposed out in the open (in your absence). Old documents that are not needed for daily business should be archived according to corporate data retention policy. Clear desk policy protects confidential business data, and also reduces fire risks.

• Data Classification: Business information assets should be classified in order to provide appropriate protection based on business confidentiality. Always make sure to treat confidential information according to policy.

• Secure Disposal of Data: documents or media containing business information needs to be securely disposed of in a way that prevents any kind of data retrieval. Paper documents and CD’s should be shredded, while digital media storage must be securely wiped using tools made for this purpose such as secure wiping tools, degaussers or physical damage equipment.

• Laptop Security: do not leave your laptop unattended, especially outside of work. When travelling or using public transportation, always carry it with you and do not load it with checked-in luggage. Do not leave it in your car in a visible location.

• Security outside your company: When travelling, stay away from dark abandoned areas; always pay attention to security alerts/instructions in your location. Always stay away from location where fights, riots or any kind of disturbance takes place. Always drive safely and avoid speeding.

• Incident Reporting: Always report security incidents to your security team. That includes intruders, fire incidents, injuries, physical damages or any other abnormalities or suspicious behavior.

• Social Engineering: avoid giving any confidential or personal information to people who call and ask for this information over the phone or any unknown website that prompts you for personal information. This could be used for malicious activities. Always deal with trusted entities.

اإلحتيال عن طريق الهاتف واملواقع: تجنب إعطاء معلومات رسية أو شخصية ألى شخص عىل الهاتف أو إدخال مثل تلك املعلومات عىل مواقع غري موثوق بها. تعامل دامئاً مع

الجهات املوثوق بها.تجنب املتلصصني: بينام متارس عملك إحرتس ممن يقفون خلفك ويتلصصون عىل شاشتك

اإلجابة ببساطة هي: كل ما سبقأمن املعلومات هو مسؤولية الجميع. كل من تلك األطراف لديه مسؤولية

تجاه تأمني املعلومات يف نطاق عملهم: سياسة تطبيق عىل ويحافظ يلتزم أن عليه املعلومات نظم فريق

الرسية: تعنى كام هو واضح من اإلسم رسية وخصوصية البيانات حيث يتم تحديد اإلجراءات لهم املسموح يتمكن أن عىل التأكيد مع لهم املسموح لغري املعلومات وصول ملنع الالزمة بالوصول اىل تلك املعلومات. ويعترب تصنيف املعلومات عىل حسب رسيتها وخطورتها إجراءاً أساسياً يأخذ يف اإلعتبار حجم الرضر الناتج عن وقوع تلك املعلومات يف األيدي الخاطئة. وتحدد

شدة اإلجراءات املتخذة لحامية املعلومات بناءا عىل تصنيفها ومدى حساسيتها.

ومن املهم أن يتم توعية املتعاملني مع املعلومات شديدة الحساسية باملخاطر التي قد تتعرض النتائج وكذلك الخاطئة األيدي يف الوقوع من وحاميتها تأمينها وكيفية املعلومات تلك لها

الكارثية املرتتبة عن كشف تلك املعلومات لغري املرصح لهم بذلك.

الحساسية عالية للمعلومات الحامية من مزيد إلضفاء املتبعة األساليب عىل األمثلة ومن اىل باإلضافة التخزين وسائل وتشفري امللفات وتشفري التعقيد عالية مرور كلامت إستخدام الوسائل البيومرتية مثل إستخدام بصامت األصابع وبصامت العني وبصامت الصوت باإلضافة اىل

Economy – The Kenyan Potential Kenya has emerged as one of the fastest growing economies in East Africa. With the major investments in infrastructure, agriculture and manufacturing its GDP rate has steadily grown from 4.6% growth in 2012 to an estimated 6% in 2015 with a projected rate to reach up to 6.5% by 2017.

With its implementation of various sound macroeconomic policies, its macroeconomic indicators have been stable and promise to show great prospects. Its economic development has been connected to its prioritization of investments in infrastructure, with special emphasis on improving its energy resources. The Kenyan PeopleKenya is not a homogenous country in terms of ethnicity. The make-up of Kenyans primarily consists of various ethnic groups: Kikuyu 22%, Luhya 14%, Luo 13%, Kalenjin 12%, Kamba 11%, Kisii 6%, Meru 6%, other African 15%, non-African (Asian, European, and Arab) 1%.

The majority of Kenyans belong to ‘Bantu’ tribes such as the Kikuyu, Luhya and Kamba. There are also the ‘Nilotic’ tribes such as the Luo, Kalenjin, Maasai and Turkana. The ‘Cushtic’ people include the Turkana, Rendille and Samburu.

The tribes in Kenya can be mainly categorized based on language. The three main language families are: • Bantu : originally from West – Central Africa - spoken in the

peaking people of the Coastal region, the Central Highlands and the Western Kenya Region

• Nilotic: initially coming from Sudan and Egypt and spoken in the Great Rift Valley and the Lake Victoria Region

• Cushitic : originally came Ethiopia and Somalia and spoken in the North East

Even with the diverse ethnicities in Kenya, the Kenyan government has fostered the importance of national solidarity, which is epitomized in its official motto of "Harambee," which is a Swahili term meaning "All Pull Together."

The "Harambee" approach to life is a concept that essentially involves mutual assistance, mutual effort, mutual responsibility and community self-reliance. Historically, this principle has been practiced by every ethnic group with its roots in cooperative farming or herding.

Culture & PeopleWith its rich culture, tradition and history, Kenya is home to more than 40 ethnic groups _ each with its distinct language, dialect and customs _ and over 60 spoken languages. Throughout the centuries, tribes have used music, songs, storytelling and artistic expressions to pass on their beliefs, history, key virtues, customs and values; all integral to the Kenyan culture.

Social StructureThe social structure in Kenya is characterized by being a group-oriented culture, where the extended family is its basis. It includes relatives on both sides of the family as well as close friends. Quite often the husband’s parents will live with the nuclear family when they get older and can no longer care for themselves. When people marry, they join their families, thus, ensuring that there will always be a group to turn to in times of need.

Kenyans, like most Africans, uphold a deep-rooted respect and reverence for their deceased ancestors. This is not ancestor worship per se, but rather a belief that when someone dies their spirit lives on and should be acknowledged. The belief is that the person only really dies completely when their relatives no longer remember them. They venerate their memories by making offerings to them or naming a newborn after them so that their spirit can live on in the child. Demonstrating respect towards ancestors is believed to maintain harmonious relationships within the family, extended family, and clan or tribe.

Lifestyles in KenyaSimilar to many developing African countries, there are significant differences between the lifestyles found in urban areas as opposed to rural ones. Kenya’s cities are Metropolitan with various contrasts blending the local traditions with the global influence. With skyscrapers in the metropolis landscape, there are theatres, art centers, waterparks, amusement parks, restaurants, hotels and a vibrant nightlife. However, traditions and customs endure.

National DressThere is no official national dress in Kenya due to the various ethnic communities, whereby each community has its own distinctive traditions and symbols.

Most people in cities in Kenya wear modern clothes. Traditionally, women wear bright vibrant colored clothes and sometimes a "kanga". A "kanga" is a long piece of material that can be worn in various forms: it can be tied, used as a skirt, or used to carry infants over the shoulder.

Foods of Kenya As with the diversity in its ethnic groups, the Kenyan cuisine draws upon a variety of ethnic traditions and lifestyles merged with the seasonings and flavors of different influences and other countries.

Even though some of the dishes and tastes have evolved to include some spices; however, its traditional food is characterized by its simplicity, heartiness and wholesomeness. Common dishes include: • "Ugali" is one of the main staples of the people. It is made from

cornmeal and is similar to a kind of stiff, starchy porridge. It is relatively inexpensive and, thus, easily accessible to the poor, who usually combine it with a vegetable or meat stew.

• "Irio" basically consists of green peas and mashed potatoes with

some added corn. This hearty Kenyan food is mostly served with roasted meat stew "nyama choma" meat or just some Kenyan style stew. This dish native to the Kikuyu people is extremely popular throughout Kenya.

• "Kachumbari" is a fine mixture of chopped tomatoes, onions, pepper, cilantro, lemon juice and in some cases, avocado. It is usually served with "nyama choma" and "ugali."

• "Githeri" is a simple Kenyan dish with boiled beans, corn kernels, and sometimes other vegetables. It is a highly nutritious filling meal with high fiber content.

• "Kenyan Pilau" is a spiced rice dish cooked with aromatic flavor bursting spices like cumin, cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves.

• "Biriyani" is another form of spiced rice that is a popular Kenyan food on the coast. This dish has various influences stemming from the Arabs, Pakistanis and Indians. It is usually accompanied with a meat stew and a few slices of fresh tomato and onions ‘Kachumbari’.

• "Wali wa nazi" is a coconut rice dish mostly prevalent along the Indian Ocean Coast of Kenya. "Wali wa nazi" is best enjoyed with a serving of fish or chicken curry, some vegetables, or even bean stew.

• "Sukuma Wiki" is one of the most popular vegetable Kenyan dishes and consists generally in collard greens/kale. ´Sukuma wiki´ literally means ´to stretch the week´, indicating that it is a food used to stretch the meals to last for the entire week.

• "Nyama Choma" Any mention of Kenyan cuisine is not complete without a mention of ‘nyama choma,’ also known as roasted meat. Goat and beef are the 2 most common types of nyama choma, but chicken "kuku choma" and fish "samaki choma" are also offered.

• "Uji" is porridge traditionally made from fermented millet, corn flour mix or a mixture of millet flour, maize meal and powdered milk. Because of its high nutritional value, "uji" is a popular drink prepared for infants, adolescents, nursing mothers and those who are sick.

Nature Kenya’s diverse topography is rich with coastal lands, mountains, forests, deserts, and swamps. With its numerous natural reserves and game parks, Kenya is home to amazing wildlife including elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, hippos and rhinos.

Receiving a considerable amount of tourists every year, tourism contributes a great portion to the national GDP of Kenya. Not only

from the interest in the wildlife, but also due to the availability of water sports along the coastline which attract another pool of tourists.

Kenya’s climate is tropical; yet it varies based on the region. Kenya is generally considered to have both a dry and wet season. The wet seasons are: from March until May (known as the long rains), and in November and December (known as the short rains).

Top Places to Visit

1. Nairobi National Park boasts a large and varied wildlife population. Migrating wildebeest and zebra gather in the park during the dry season, and it is one of Kenya’s most successful rhinoceros sanctuaries.

2. Malindi, a coastal tourist attraction, has extensive coral reefs and beautiful beaches. There are surfing, snorkeling, deep-sea fishing and other water sports.

3. Mount Kenya is the highest mountain in Kenya and the second-highest in Africa, after Kilimanjaro. The mountain offers a beautiful

sight. Its series of peaks are crowned with snow, and its slopes are covered with forest.

4. Samburu National Reserve is a national park in Northern Kenya that attracts a variety of wildlife including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffalos and hippos because of the Uaso Nyiro River that runs through it and the mixture of forest and grassland vegetation.

5. Hell’s Gate National Park, though small, is a unique park among Kenya’s wildlife parks, as visitors are allowed to walk or cycle without a guide. There’s dramatic scenery, with steep cliffs, gorges and basalt columns.

6. Lamu Island is a part of Kenya’s Lamu Archipelago, and is the oldest living town in Kenya, retaining all its charm and character built up over centuries. There are no roads on Lamu Island, just alleyways and footpaths.

7. Tsavo National Park is the largest national park in Kenya and one of the largest in the world. Due to its size the park was divided into Tsavo West and Tsavo East. Concepts of mutual assistance, respect, hierarchy, community, extended family and politeness are key.

Some quick tips: 1. Greetings: a smile and a handshake go a long way, as Kenyans

are friendly people. Make sure it is a firm handshake with men and conservative handshake with women.

2. Pleasantness: Kenyans do not respond to rudeness or bluntness. Always be cordial and maintain smooth relationships with others.

3. Mild-mannered behavior is the social norm, so avoid raising your voice or showing anger in an office environment, as that reflects poorly in terms of character and respect.

4. Titles: Address people with their titles, especially until you come to know them and the setting becomes more informal.

5. Make the effort: Try to learn a few Swahili words, it is a great icebreaker.

6. Seniority and Hierarchy: Make sure you greet everyone at a meeting or gathering, starting with the most senior first. Hierarchy plays an important role in Kenya, so be mindful of the hierarchy in place.

7. Patience and respect of formalities: do not jump into business matters straight away. There are social formalities that need to be respected to include small talk and inquiring after people’s family, health and well-being.

8. Kenyan Time: a lot has been said about the fluidity of time in Kenya. However, punctuality is expected as a sign of respect. Moreover, it is advisable not to schedule meetings back-to-back, as meetings may run over anticipated time.

معظم سكان املدن يرتدون املالبس العرصية. عادة ترتدي النساء مالبس زاهية األلوان وأحيانا

يرتدين "الكانجا". "الكانجا" هي قطعة طويلة من القامش التي ميكن إرتداءها مبختلف الطرق

Giza Systems Education Foundation Drives Engagement in Education Giza Systems Education Foundation (GSF), the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of Giza Systems, has been involved in diverse initiatives promoting education, interactive learning, and science. With a focus on driving engagement and transforming the way youth learn, GSF has sponsored various events to foster creativity in education.

Highlights on latest GSF Initiatives and Events

STEM Initiative:Partnering with Misr El Kheir Foundation and the Ministry of Education, Giza Systems Education Foundation (GSF) supported the STEM initiative by contributing to the Advanced Industrial Technical High School of Suez with a language and computer lab to include computers, headsets and other necessary accessories.

The STEM initiative brings to the forefront the importance of integrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in the education system for the industrial technical schools. The initiative relies on advancing learning and empirical education through practice and scientific experiments, based on methodical approaches to scientific research.

The school is one of the pioneers in the application of the STEM methodology and serves all the cities of the Suez Canal with 1700 academically excelling students. The school offers education in automotive engineering, electricity, mechanics, petrochemicals, and operation and distribution of electric energy.

To empower future generations and instill scientific research in education, GSF plans to continue to support the school, with hopes that it will become a model in the field of technical education in Egypt.

Read to Succeed Initiative:Working in collaboration with the National Reading Program at USAID, GSF added one more achievement to its record by coordinating the donation of 1,455 books to three governmental schools located in Ezbet Elnasr (in Basateen) and Ezbet Elnasr Youth Center Library.

The books donated consisted in a diverse collection that included not only novels, but also encyclopedias, dictionaries and historical and scientific books. One of the biggest highlights was the donation of the Sesame Street books that promote reading and learning in a fun engaging way. Ezbet Elnasr is considered one of the many marginalized areas in Egypt that is in dire need of intervention from civil society, NGOs and corporate citizens. The initiative stemmed from the importance and impact of reading on the lives of children and young adults, especially in marginalized areas.

Giza Systems Education Foundation co-sponsored the National Science and Engineering Fair held during the 1st Egyptian Physics Olympiad at the Nile

University last April. The fair was organized by Ideas Gym, under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and in collaboration with the exploratory scientific

centers of the Ministry and the "Sheraca" initiative of the Ministry of Scientific Research. The National Fair aims to promote the concept of scientific research and

design projects for the advancement of scientific development in Egypt.

During the fair, over 400 students competed in the Blastoff 2015 and the Egyptian Physics Olympiad showcasing more than 170 projects. Students coming from all over Egypt were

supported by their teachers in presenting their research projects covering various scientific fields. Among the fields of interest were engineering, energy, recycling, medicinal sciences, water,

agriculture, robotics, chemistry, and physics.

The winners will participate in the next Taiwan International Science Fair in 2016 and the European Union Contest for Young Scientists scheduled next September, in Italy.

In parallel to the fair, two forums were organized for the teachers and students. One forum was directed at teachers as a focal point to discuss the various means to encourage students’ engagement in science. The other consisted in a discussion with students about the importance of science and engineering to the development of Egypt.

In its efforts to encourage the adoption of technology in education, Giza Systems Education Foundation sponsors fairs and events that leverage science, technology and creativity to positively impact our community.

Giza Systems Education Foundation co-sponsored the Annual Science Festivity at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina this April.

In line with GSF’s efforts to promote education and recycling, the two-day event aimed at raising public awareness about science and nature through plenary sessions, hands-on workshops, interactive exhibits, and a Super Science Show. It also featured an exhibition about plastic

waste with a focus on how to use plastic in a more environmentally-conscious way.

The event was a great success in engaging children and youth to explore science and nature, as well as foster their curiosity and creativity about the world. The interactive science festivity was attended and enjoyed by a large

number of families, school students, educators, teachers, and NGOs.

The work performed by Giza Systems Education Foundation is a source of pride for all employees at Giza Systems. It is a continuous reminder of the importance of paying back to our communities

and extending our knowledge and capacities in helping others.

وكان هدف الحدث الذي إستمر ملدة يومني هو زيادة الوعي العام وترسيخ أهمية العلوم يف املجتمع، مبختلف فئاته العمرية والثقافية

واإلجتامعية. وشمل الحدث العديد من األنشطة مثل الجلسات العامة، وورش العمل، واملحارضات التكميلية، واملعارض التفاعلية باإلضافة

إىل عرض عجائب العلوم الشيق. كام قامت بإعداد معرض عن النفايات البالستيكية تم فيه الرتكيز عىل كيفية إستخدام البالستيك بطريقة أكرث

إنطالق معرض العلوم والهندسة القومي الثاني:قامت مؤسسة جيزة سيستمز التعليمية برعاية معرض العلوم والهندسة القومي الثاين املنعقد أثناء أوملبياد الفيزياء املرصي يف جامعة النيل يف إبريل املايض. وقامت "أيدياز

جيم" بتنظيم املعرض تحت رعاية وزارة الرتبية والتعليم وبالتعاون مع املراكز العلمية اإلستكشافية التابعة للوزارة ومبادرة وزارة البحث العلمي "رشاكة". ويهدف املعرض

القومي إىل الرتويج ملفهوم البحث العلمي وتصميم املرشوعات من أجل تقدم التطور العلمي يف مرص.

وأثناء املعرض، تنافس أكرث من ٤٠٠ طالب من كافة أنحاء الجمهورية بعرض أكرث من 1۷٠ مرشوع. وقام املدرسون بدعم الطالب لتقديم مرشوعات أبحاثهم والتي تغطي

العديد من املجاالت العلمية. ومن بني املجاالت التي تم طرحها: الهندسة، والطاقة، وإعادة التدوير، والعلوم الطبية، واملياه، والزراعة، وتكنولوجيا الروبوت، والكيمياء،

والفيزياء.

وسوف يشرتك الفائزون يف معرض العلوم الدولية القادم يف تايوان يف ۲٠1٦ ومسابقة اإلتحاد األورويب للعلامء الشباب املخطط له يف سبتمرب القادم يف إيطاليا.

مبادرة إقرأ لتنجح:بالتعاون مع برنامج القراءة القومي التابع للوكالة األمريكية للتنمية الدولية، أضافت مؤسسة جيزة لألنظمة التعليمية إنجاز آخر إىل سجلها بالتنسيق ملنح 1٤55 كتاب إىل

ثالث مدارس حكومية يف عزبة النرص بالبساتني ومكتبة مركز شباب عزبة النرص. وكانت الكتب التي تم منحها تتكون من مجموعة متنوعة، شملت روايات وموسوعات وقواميس

وكتب تاريخية وعلمية. ومن أبرز الكتب التي تم منحها كتب "عامل سمسم" التي تروج للقراءة والتعلم بطريقة ممتعة ومرحة.

وتنبع املبادرة تأكيداً عىل أهمية القراءة وتأثريها اإليجايب عىل الألطفال والشباب يف املناطق املهمشة بوجه خاص. وتعد عزبة النرص إحدى املناطق املهمشة يف مرص وهي يف أشد

Giza Systems to Launch Fab Lab Committed to driving innovation and inspiring change, Giza Systems, in conjunction with Fab Lab Egypt, is establishing its very own Fabrication Lab in New Cairo, located at the company’s premises. Intrinsic to its philosophy of supporting youth, creativity and advancement, Giza Systems Education Foundation will be incorporating Fab Lab in its scope of responsibility to promote education through the employment of technology. It is expected for Giza Systems’ Fab Lab to open its doors to students and targeted beneficiaries by Q4 2015.

Fab Lab Egypt (Fabrication Laboratory Egypt) is part of the international MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Fab Foundation. It is an open Makerspace and digital fabrication facility with the goal of democratizing technology where anyone in the community from young children to students, entrepreneurs and businesses can get together to share knowledge, and collaborate on projects and hands-on activities.

Fab Labs bring technology to the entire community, and stimulates young talent by exposing them and teaching them the latest technological tools. By providing them with access to a range of advanced digital manufacturing technology, Fab Labs are inspiring entrepreneurs across the country to create and innovate. Using open source design software and a selection of computer controlled machines, users can design new products and prototypes to make almost anything. Essentially, Fab Labs offer users the capability of turning their ideas and concepts into reality.

Fab Labs were conceived by the Centre for Bits and Atoms at MIT as an outreach project. They are governed by a charter authored by MIT that defines a Fab Lab as "a global network of local labs, enabling invention by providing access to tools for digital fabrication." Fab Labs share an evolving inventory of core capabilities to make almost anything, allowing people and projects to be shared. Fab Labs are available as a community resource, offering open access for individuals as well as scheduled access for programs.

Through the introduction of hands-on practical skill training in computing, electronics technology, personal and digital fabrication using computer numerical control (CNC) and 3D scanning/ printing equipment, trainees will gain skills such as:• 3D Printing• Laser Cutting• Use of CNC routers and milling machine• 3D Scanning• Basics of CAD drawing• Basics of electronic circuitry (Arduino)• Utilization of solar energy

Like the Internet, smartphones and cloud technology, 3D Printing has joined the list of new emerging disruptive technologies. By generating a unique set of standards that eventually will overtake the existing market, 3D Printing has created a new market that will ultimately democratize manufacturing and make it accessible to individuals.

Simply, 3D printing is revolutionizing the process from idea generation and conception to actual creation and fulfillment. You have the potential to design anything and see it come to life!

What is 3D Printing? 3D Printing is part of a process known as additive manufacturing, whereby an object is created by adding materials layer by layer. Additive manufacturing allows designers to create complex parts at a fraction of the cost and time. What used to take time and money for the manufacturing and prototype process for forging, casting, molding, and sculpting, can be achieved in considerably less time and cost.

How does it Work?• You create the design or blueprint for the object you want either

on modeling software or on one of the various websites available such as Shapeways, MakerBot and Thingiverse to see what other people have created.

• Then, you send off the finished design to the printer. • The 3D printer, then takes the materials in the tube, melts it, and

deposits it onto the plate where it is instantly cooled. • The object is created through layering until the structure of the

designed object is fully formed.

What are some of the things being created through 3D Printing? You can print anything you can think of and for which you can create a 3D model. People, at their own homes, have started creating tools, toys, food, shoes…

Other industries have started testing the capabilities and dimensions of using 3D printing to include aerospace, automotive manufacturers, defense, and technology circuits.

Even in the medicine sector, doctors are starting to research its applications by testing biomaterials for regenerative

medicine by using patient cells so that they can reprint small body parts like noses and ears. Some surgeons

are even testing organs for transplant potential.

In architecture, testing is being carried out for building actual structures. A recent project that is still underway in the Netherlandsis being implemented by a company to build a bridge across a canal in Amsterdam employing 3D-printing robots. Also in China, there have been large-scale 3D printing attempts at building

actual houses.

What Materials can be Used? Many materials can be used for 3D printing; however, the

most common material used so far is plastic. Other materials used include ABS plastic, PLA, polyamide (nylon), glass filled

polyamide, stereolithography materials (epoxy resins), silver, titanium, steel, wax, biomedical materials, stone, wood, photopolymers and polycarbonate.

Latest Materials being developed and researched: • Embryonic Stem Cells 3-D tissues printing• Inspired by the Terminator movies, Carbon3D is in the process

of developing proprietary technology called continuous liquid interface production (CLP), which leverages UV light to solidify some parts of the resin and oxygen to keep other parts of the

resin from solidifying to create a revolutionary continuous 3D printing process. The resulting advancements are aiming to render the process 25 to 100 times faster than leading 3D printing technologies and include part qualities that resemble injection molding in terms of smoothness.

How long has 3D Printing been around? 3D Printing technologies first appeared in the 1980s, where it was introduced as Rapid Prototyping (RP) technologies, as it was meant to improve the prototyping process for product development.

Though Dr, Kodama in Japan, submitted the first patent application, it was incomplete. So 3D Printing is attributed to Charles Hull, whose patent was issued in 1986, for stereolithography apparatus (SLA). He, then, co-founded 3D Systems Corporation — one of the largest and most prolific organizations operating in the 3D printing sector today.

NASA to Earth! Do you Copy? Creativity Thrusters… Engage! For the first time ever, Egypt takes part in NASA’s International SpaceApps Challenge! The "Hackathon" is a global challenge held for a duration of 48 hours across 138 cities simultaneously. It is a collaborative problem-solving event that encourages participants to capitalize on open-source solutions to solve challenging space exploration missions as well as improve the quality of life on Earth.

According to Menna Hamza, SpaceApps Cairo Local Lead Organizer, "NASA is doing a great job in engaging the whole world in solving the common space and earth problems. The benefits of the challenge held in Cairo were so many. We had a pool of engineers, scientists, coders and designers who were enjoying helping each other and sharing their knowledge and experience."

Nile University hosted the event last April, in which technologists, scientists, designers, artists, educators, entrepreneurs, developers and students came together to work on solutions for the global challenges submitted by NASA. This year, NASA provided 25 challenges that fell under four main themes: Outer Space, Earth, Humans and Robotics.

The event was heavily marketed to recruit candidates to participate in the SpaceApps Challenge. The results were astounding with registration reaching 750 participants. To accommodate space constraints at Nile University, an orientation session was held for the participants to familiarize them with the event and help place them into teams based on their area of interest.

Encouraging innovation in the telecom sector in Egypt and promoting emerging technologies, the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) took the lead in fostering creativity amongst youth by supporting the event as the Platinum Sponsor.

Likewise, in its efforts to advance innovation and empower youth, Giza Systems backed the initiative by becoming the Gold Sponsor for the SpaceApps Challenge. "The NASA SpaceApps Challenge was an amazing opportunity for Giza Systems to support. The event empowers today’s generation and engages them fully in the emerging technologies. By immersing them in collaborative environments, they are instrumental in solving high-impact global issues that will shape their futures and the future of others around the globe," commented Mohamed Sedeek, Chief Operations Officer at Giza Systems.

During the 2 day hackathon, thirty five mentors volunteered to help and guide the participants. They came from diverse backgrounds including Academia represented by Teaching and Research Assistants in various fields as well as young industry professionals. The same diversification was mapped in the judging committee to include university professors and industry professionals.

It is an interactive mobile application dedicated to farmers. It allows farmers to track the health of their crops. If the crops are infected, the application, through image processing technology,

helps the farmer identify the kind of infection to determine whether it is caused from insects or another type of disease. It also alerts nearby farmers who

grow the same crops to any threats. Each farmer can have a profile on BubulShot in which he can customize his

settings and crops to receive relevant notifications.

The team working on FoodEx addressed the shortage problem of agricultural food supply on Earth. Their idea hinges on using data acquisition, image processing, predictions and NASA’s imagery satellites. FoodEx project provides dynamic data streams (on a map) for all green spots on earth, highlighting areas used for agriculture, desert areas and water areas.

The dynamic day-by-day monitoring for lands will show the increase/decrease of green areas on earth, and the utilization of each area. Relying on updates from FAO and NASA, solid and accurate live data about food security and dynamic changes will be generated and updated.

FoodEx is designed to offer two modes. The horizon mode grants access to tremendous amount of data by hovering on a map of the country and location of interest. The Greenify mode is an interactive and more advanced mode in which the user can select arable plots of land and simulate the economics of crop cultivation and the impact on country food self-sufficiency.

SkyMeter Team: Mahmoud Semary, Ahmed Fawzi Gad, Abdullah Shaker, Noura Abd El-MoezSemaryChallenge Name: My Sky Color – Theme: Earth SkyMeter is an android mobile application that is developed to assess qualitatively the amount of aerosol in the atmosphere. It is relevant to students and scientists concerned about environmental issues. The app captures images of the sky to analyze 3 parameters: sky color, status and Aeronet information without any internet connection requirements. The app enables users to save the images including key information to the mobile SSD memory. With the availability of an internet connection, the user could then upload the images and information to the SkyMeter site. SkyMeter is capable of detecting Aerosol levels in photos taken in dark and light conditions including nearly all sky colors. It is also capable of detecting the location where the image was taken.

SALVUS-WEB Team: Fatima Fouda, Mohamed Ghazy Abd El-Moniem, ZeinabFoudaChallenge Name: Sensor Yourself – Theme: Robotics

Salvus-Web is a sensor network that helps in the detection of space debris and environmental fluctuations, as well as aids in damage inspection. In case of space debris, the sensor network would also alert the crew and guide them through the maneuver. It involves a number of ultrasonic and space sensors installed on space stations to detect space debris. The shuttle crew needs to know the size,

speed, time of impact and direction of maneuver to avoid any possible collision. The sensor network is comprised of a number of nodes; each node carries a group of sensors, namely; 1. This team wanted everyone on Earth to be able to simulate the survival inside a lava tube and familiarize them with the natural formations on Mars. They developed a 3D game based on an emergency scenario, during which the crew needs to evacuate the spaceship and select the relevant resources. There are three planned stages to the game meant to tackle simulation in the lava tubes, the set-up of colonies and resource strategies, and future expansions dealing with reward system and the interface with social media for sharing achievements.

QingLong (INTERACT)Team: Abdelrahman Hassan Mohamed, Andrew EmelNessem, Eslam Ahmed Hashem, Karim Magdy, Ahmad Muhammad Al-MahdiChallenge Name: Space GLove – Space Craft Gesture and Voice Commanding – Theme: Humans

Interact developed a system depending on wireless communication that consisted in two main parts (mobile and PC). The mobile side: an android application that detects hand and voice gestures. For gesture recognition, they designed rules to detect linear gestures (right, left, up, down, up-right, up-left, down-right, down-left). For voice, they used Google ASR. The PC side: they applied their model to internet browsing and 3D model viewing by enabling the application to search

in google and google maps through voice and gesture recognition.

Interstellar Team: Mohammed SelimAbdelaal, Mohamed Abdallah ElSayed, Hagar Hesham ElMahdy, Ibrahim Mohammed Ibrahim, Omar OsamaChallenge Name: Zero Bee Gee – Your Friendly Neighborhood Drone – Theme: Robotics

The project consisted in a new spherical drone able to reliably move in confined spaces and capable of lifting light objects weighing 2kg and securing them from any damage during transfer. It also uses piezoelectric materials to harvest energy from the vibration of the motors to generate electricity for power sensors.

CuBeeTeam: Ahmed Hashem, Ahmed Samir Ewida, Ahmed NashaatNassar, Mohamed Maher, RohandaHamedChallenge Name: Zero Bee Gee – Your Friendly Neighborhood Drone – Theme: Robotics

CuBee is also another drone project that aimed to assist astronauts within a Spacecraft environment. The drone’s main task is to assist in transporting loads of 2Kg objects from one place to another. The drone was creatively designed to fit into confined spaces by equipping it with only one propeller, a reaction wheel and a gripper.

Space InvadersTeam: Mohamed Ahmed Abada, Mariam Abd Ennaser Asfour, Sameh Mohamed Aransa, Rana Hamdie ElHadedy, Ezzeldin Shaker Abdul Meguid GomaaChallenge Name: Asteroids 2025-2100 – Future History – Theme: Outer Space

This team responded to the challenge by creating and implementing a platform for a game that is entertaining and inspires youth and students to study Aerospace Engineering. The emphasis was on transferring knowledge about outer space as well as communicating the importance of asteroids as a resource for water, iron and oxygen.

عقد جلسة توجيهية للمشرتكني لتعريفهم بالحدث ومساعدتهم عيل اإلشرتاك يف فرق بناءا عيل

قامت إنرتآكت بتطوير نظام يعتمد عيل اإلتصاالت الالسلكية التي تتكون من جزأين رئيسيني إلتقاط عىل قادر "أندرويد" تطبيق الخلوي: الهاتف ناحية من اآلىل(. والحاسب )الهاتف إمياءات اليد واألمر الصويت. بالنسبة إلدراك اإلمياءات، وضعوا قواعد إللتقاط اإلمياءات الخطية )اليمني، اليسار، أعيل، أسفل، أعيل اليمني، أعيل اليسار، أسفل اليمني، أسفل اليسار.( بالنسبة للصوت، إستخدموا جوجل إي. إس. آر. )Google ASR(. ومن ناحية الحاسب اآلىل: طبقوا منوذجهم عيل تصفح اإلنرتنت وتصور النموذج الثاليث األبعاد من خالل جعل التطبيق يبحث يف

جوجل وخرائط جوجل بالصوت وإدراك اإلمياءات.

يتكون املرشوع من روبوت كروي قادر عيل التحرك يف مساحات محدودة وقادر عيل رفع األوزان الخفيفة التي تزن ۲ كجم ويؤمنها من أي رضر أثناء النقل. كام يستخدم مواد بيزوكهربائية لحصاد الطاقة من إهتزاز

املواتري لتوليد الكهرباء ألجهزة إستشعار الطاقة.

إسم التحدي: زيرو يب جي – املوضوع: الروبوتات

كيويب هو مرشوع روبوت آخر يهدف إيل مساعدة رواد الفضاء يف بيئة السفينة الفضائية. ومهمة الروبوت الرئيسية هي املساعدة يف نقل حموالت تزن ۲ كجم من مكان إيل آخر. وكان الروبوت مصمم بإبتكار ملالمئة املساحات املحدودة مع تزويده مبروحة واحدة وعجلة تفاعلية وقابض.

يستجيب الفريق للتحديات من خالل إعداد وتنفيذ برنامج خاص بلعبة للتسلية وإللهام الشباب والطالب لدراسة هندسة الفضاء الخارجي. وكان التأكيد عيل نرش املعرفة الخاصة بالفضاء الخارجي وأهمية الكويكبات كمصدر للمياه والحديد واألوكسجني.

بابلشوت تطبيق تفاعىل عيل الهواتف الخلوية مخصص للمزارعني. إنه يسمح للمزارعني بتتبع صحة محاصيلهم. إذا ما أصابت املحاصيل آفة، يساعد

التطبيق املزارع عيل التعرف عيل نوع اآلفة لتحديد ما إذا كان سببها حرشة أو أي نوع آخر من األمراض من خالل تقنية معالجة الصور. كام أنه

يف الغالف الجوي. وهو هام بالنسبة للطالب والعلامء املهتمني بقضايا البيئة. والتطبيق يلتقط الصور من السامء

التوصيل باإلنرتنت وميكن لتحليل ثالث معايري: لون السامء وحالتها واملعلوماتا لجوية بدون أي حاجة ملتطلبات

سالفاس - ويب هي شبكة إستشعار تساعد عيل إلتقاط الحطام يف الفضاء والتذبذبات البيئية وفحص األرضار. يف حالة حطام فضايئ، تنبه شبكة اإلستشعار الطاقم وترشده أثناء املناورة.

وهي تشمل عدد من أجهزة اإلستشعار الفوق صوتية والفضائية مثبتة يف املحطات الفضائية إللتقاط الحطام الفضايئ. ويحتاج طاقم املكوك الفضايئ إيل معرفة حجم ورسعة ووقت التأثري وإتجاه

Giza Systems Sponsors Injaz Start-Up Competition 2015Transforming ideas into business realities

Injaz held the Start-Up Competition, the largest entrepreneurial event in Egypt where young entrepreneurs compete for a chance to win seed funding and incubation for their ideas. The trade fair was held on 8th April, 2015 at the American University in Cairo, New Campus, in association with the School of Business and the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program (EIP). Participating this year were 20 final teams with other 120 participants. In hopes of qualifying for the final stage of the pipeline, which provides the winning teams with seed funding, incubation, and the necessary guidance to start a business, each team showcased their product/service to an esteemed panel of judges.The judges selected the winning teams based on four main criteria: Profitability, Sustainability, Scalability and Innovation.

Nine teams won the final qualifying stage, for which Boeing and Mobinilprovided the seed funding for the winning teams. The amounts of funding varied from 30,000 EGP up to 120,000 EGP in the form of a grant for the winning teams to launch their business or to expand operations.

The teams exhibited ingenuity and diversity in their business project ideas. Concepts for their businesses touched on various walks of life including e-commerce, green technology, smart houses, agriculture, crowd funding and others. They also tackled vital societal concerns

such as developing organic mineral fertilizers aiming to correct the damage of soil salinity levels and a power generation company addressing the current energy deficit in Egypt. Other ideas took on a more technological aspect with the conceptualization of a membership-based mobile application supermarket that provides a hassle-free shopping experience, as well as the utilization of augmented reality glasses that doctors can use to display all the patient’s details and medical history.

"The ideas presented this year are a true representation of how much potential our future generation holds, and their ability to learn and grow is outstanding once they are provided with an arena to do so. INJAZ is always trying to open new doors for students to prosper and give back to our country," said Dina El Mofty, Executive Director for Injaz Egypt.

The competition is the culmination of the INJAZ Egypt pipeline that is tailored to passionate, hard-working, creative university students and young graduates. The INJAZ pipeline is a holistic, long-term approach that can take an enthusiastic student from any field of study in any public university with no prior business experience or knowledge, and transform him or her into a successful entrepreneur with an innovative new business that contributes to our national economy and generates jobs.

مكونني من 1۲٠ مشرتك.

مادي متويل الفائزة للفرق تقدم التي املبادرة من النهائية املرحلة إيل الوصول أمل وعيل

واإلحتضان واإلرشاد الالزم لبدء املرشوع. يعرض كل فريق منتجاته/خدماته أمام نخبة موقرة من

الحكام، ويختار الحكام الفرق الفائزة بناًء عيل أربع معايري رئيسية هي:- الربحية، واإلستدامة،

وقابلية التوسع، واإلبتكار.

ولقد فازت تسع فرق يف مرحلة التصفيات النهائية وقامت رشكتي "بوينج" و"موبينيل" بتقديم

ألف جنيه ألف و 1۲٠ ما بني ۳٠ ترتاوح التمويل مبالغ الفائزة، وكانت للفرق متويل مادي

مرصي يف شكل منحة للفرق الفائزة حتي تؤسس أعاملها أو تتوسع يف أعاملها الحالية.

ولقد إستعرضت الفرق الرباعة والتنوع يف أفكار مرشوع أعاملها . ولقد تناولت مفاهيم أعاملهم

والبيوت الخرضاء والتكنولوجيا اإلنرتنت طريق عن التجارة منها الحياة نواحي من العديد

الذكية والزراعة والتمويل الجامعي وغريها. كام تناولت إهتاممات إجتامعية حيوية مثل تطوير

بالرتبة وأدي إيل رفع الذي لحق التي تهدف إيل تصحيح الرضر األسمدة املعدنية والعضوية

مستويات ملوحتها، كام أعربوا عن الحاجة ايل رشكة توليد طاقة تعالج نقص الطاقة الحايل يف

مرص. وأتخذت أفكار أخري مظهراً تكنولوجياً أكرث مع تطبيق مفهوم اإلشرتاك من خالل الهواتف

الذكية التي تقدم خربة تسوق بال متاعب، وكذلك عرض إستخدام النظارات املبتكرة التي ميكن

لألطباء إستخدامها لعرض كافة تفاصيل تاريخ املريض الطبي.

إن املسابقة هي ذروة جهد إنجاز مرص املبذول خصيصاً من أجل طالب الجامعات املجدين،

املبدعني وشباب الخريجني. ومرشوع إنجاز هو نهج كيل طويل املدي، ميكنه أن يأخذ الطالب

املتحمس يف أي مجال من مجاالت الدراسة يف أي جامعة عامة، والذي ليس لديه أي خربة عملية

أو معرفة وتحوله/تحولها إيل صاحب مرشوع ناجح يف عمل إبتكاري جديد يساهم يف تنمية

إقتصادنا الوطني وىف خلق فرص عمل جديدة.

The winning teams

"The Start-Up Competition is a truly phenomenal event empowering youth to think, dream and innovate. The competition is about belief and hope in the power of ideas and the journey to reify them to become a vivid reality. Seeing the raw potential of these young entrepreneurs is an impetus to the entire society to create, excel, and make a difference," stated Shehab ElNawawi, Chairman and CEO, Giza Systems.

How it WorksThe pipeline provides students with the necessary guidance and support to ensure that their ideas are translated successfully into the business world. The pipeline is divided into three main phases to ensure each member is exposed to all the necessary information.

The first phase, ideation, is when INJAZ opens its doors for applications. Students are expected to form teams with a maximum of five students in each team and provide a write-up about their business idea. This phase exposes 120 teams to necessary trainings and camps that touch on various business-planning essentials. Towards the end of this phase, presentations to a panel of judges determine which teams will be moving on to the second phase of the pipeline.

The second phase, acceleration, is when 30 teams develop their product/service further whilst receiving guidance and assistance along the way. Teams enter the INJAZ Start-Up School, which exposes them to finance, branding, product development, business modeling, and soft skills boot camps over a period of several weeks. Teams are assigned mentors to guide them through this phase particularly in the development of a prototype of their product and a drafting of a comprehensive business plan. There are two filtration points in this phase. The first phase revolves around teams giving a presentation of their final business to a panel of judges who will decide which teams are to continue to the second filtration process. Approximately 20 teams will enter this final filtration phase, which is INJAZ’s Start Up Egypt Competition. Teams will showcase their products and services in a trade fair and pitch their businesses to the judges who will choose around 7 winning teams to subsequently enter the third and final phase of the pipeline.

The third phase, incubation, is chiefly concerned with ensuring that teams receive all the necessary support to launch their business idea into the real world. Winning teams are provided with physical incubation, interns to help them, and seed funding. Once again expert mentors are assigned to each team to coach them every step of the way. This phase ends with a demo day, where all products and services will be displayed for potential angel investors to examine, presenting the teams with a second opportunity to receive generous funding and exposure.

‘Wataneya Society for the Development of Orphanages’ Celebrates Second Graduating Class‘Wataneya Society for the Development of Orphanages’ celebrates its second graduating class of caregivers to have completed the Edexcel Accredited Vocational Qualification Program in Child Care. Wataneya is the first Association in the Middle East to have earned this prestigious certificate. The certificate was awarded in recognition of the Association’s training program "Amaan".

The graduation ceremony was held on May 20th, 2015 at the National Training Institute in Nasr City, Egypt. The Association marked the graduation of 18 child caregivers receiving the certificate, approved by Edexcel Middle East – a subsidiary of Pearson. The organization operates in 85 countries and provides academic and vocational certificates of qualification, in addition to several testing services for thousands of schools, colleges and companies around the world.

The ceremony also hosted a panel discussion about the importance of the program, during which Dr. Heba Wagih Kotb, Professor of Psychology at The American University in Cairo, expounded on the benefits of the professional certificate in providing caregivers with actual applied knowledge, as opposed to merely theoretical understanding.

"Wataneya’s graduation ceremonies bespeak a true sense of accomplishment, as they reflect the great strides taken by Wataneya in its quest to set standards and raise the quality of orphanages in Egypt. Wataneya has adopted a holistic approach to promote the necessity for qualified staff with a deep understanding of child development using scientific methods of observation, physical and psychological assessments, and communication methods", commented Ghada Farouk, Learning Foundation Manager at Giza Systems Education Foundation.

Giza Systems congratulates Wataneya on the graduation of the second class of child caregivers and continues to support its remarkable efforts in working to improve the standards of orphanages in Egypt and its diversified programs including "Sanad," "Forsa," and "Amaan."

Having been recognized as one of the best six practices worldwide to improve the living environment by Dubai International Award in 2014, Wataneya is making great strides in the development of orphanages

and the institution of international best practices with its three main units focused on Institutional Support, "Amaan" Vocational Training Center, and Awareness and Advocacy. It plans to achieve the adoption of the Quality Standards in 30 institutional homes by 2018, lobby for the necessity of licenses for the practice of caregivers in Egypt, and create a community monitoring platform of orphanages.

About Wataneya Wataneya Society for the Development of Orphanages, a non-profit organization registered under the Ministry of Social Solidarity since November 2008, was established to address the challenges facing the institutional homes for children without parental care in Egypt. Wataneya Society aims to implement a unified and integrated mechanism for Egyptian orphanages by applying the "Quality Standards for Care" (QS) driven from the international best practices.

جمعية وطنية لتنمية وتطوير دور األيتام تحتفل بتخريج الدفعة الثانية

الرعاية الثانية من مقدمي الدفعة بتخرج األيتام لتنمية وتطوير دور تحتفل جمعية وطنية

الذين أكملوا برنامج مقدمي رعاية وتأهيل الطفل املهني املعتمدة من إيديكسل. وطنية هي

أول جمعية يف الرشق األوسط تحصل عيل تلك الشهادة املرموقة. ولقد تم منح الجمعية هذه

الشهادة تقديرا لربنامج تدريب الجمعية "أمان".

ولقد تم إقامة إحتفال التخرج يف يوم ٢٠ مايو ٢٠15 يف املعهد القومي للتدريب يف القاهرة بحي

مدينة نرص. ولقد إحتفلت الجمعية بتخرج 1۸ مقدم رعاية لألطفال، الذين حصلوا

التابع ملنظمة بريسون التي تعمل يف 85 دولة وتقوم مبنح شهادات أكادميية ومهنية،

ولقد إستضاف اإلحتفال حلقة نقاش حول أهمية الربنامج وأثناء الربنامج تحدثت

د.هبة قطب وجيه، أستاذ علم النفس يف الجامعة األمريكية يف القاهرة عن فوائد

الشهادة املهنية التي تزود مقدمي الرعاية باملعرفة التطبيقية الفعلية وليس مجرد

اإلستيعاب النظري.

ضمن وطنية جمعية تصنيف تم أن وبعد و"أمان". و"فرصة" "سند" مرشوعات

أفضل ست تجارب عيل مستوي العامل تعمل عيل تحسني بيئة املعيشة، وحصلت

الجمعية عيل جائزة ديب الدولية لعام ٢٠1٤، تتقدم جمعية وطنية بخطوات واسعة

بفروعه العلمية التطبيقات ألفضل الدويل املعهد ويركز األيتام، دور تطوير نحو

الرئيسية الثالث عيل الدعم املؤسيس، "أمان" مركز التدريب املهني والتوعية والدعم.

أيتام بحلول عام ٢٠18، دار رعاية الجودة يف ٣۰ إعتامد معايري وتتنتوي وطنية

وخلق مجموعات لتأييد رضورة الحصول عىل تراخيص ملزاولة مهنة مقدمي رعاية

الطفل يف مرص، وخلق منصة مراقبة إجتامعية لدور األيتام.
