NOW HEAR THIS! OFFICIAL NEWSLETTER OF THE ZANESVILLE YACHT CLUB SUMMER 2016 COMMODORES COMMENTS: Notes from Commodore Jeff Hardwick The last newsletter we had was just ap- proaching Spring. I was hoping to have an early summer newsletter but things came up so fast we didn't get one together in time so we are doing a late Summer with a re- cap and what’s new for the rest of the year. Still a lot left of the season as far as we are concerned. I probably say this every year but I can not believe how fast the summer has flown by. It seems to go faster & faster every year. I will say that alt- hough this summer went fast it was one of the best sea- sons the Yacht Club has had as far as I can remember. Our membership is up to almost 100 families & that is the highest it has ever been. Our financial health is also as good as it has ever been as well. Mainly because of new membership but also because of full dock slips and the tremendous success of our recent fundraisers. Our fund- raisers help benefit the club and its members in more ways than one. As long as they are successful they help keep the dues down, the maintenance cost of running the club in check, and most of all allow us to operate the day to day business of the Yacht Club without having to go in debt. We are so fortunate for great members and awe- some Trustees who make our club the best around. So thank you all for supporting the club and I hope that every- one enjoys all the fellowship & amenities the club has to offer. If you are not having a good time here then it you own fault. NAUTICAL JOKE: A woman was having a medical problem - her husband was snoring very loudly and every night ! So she called the doc-tor one morning, and asked him if there was anything he could do to relieve her "suffering." "Well, there is one operation I can perform that will cure your husband" said the doctor, "but it is really rather expen-sive. It will cost you $10,000 down, and payments of $1000 for 36 months, plus payments for extras of course. "My goodness!" the woman exclaimed, "that sounds like I'm buying a yacht!" "Humm," the doctor murmured, "too obvious, huh?"

MEMBERS WHO HAVE BOAT STORAGE ON PROPERTY

To all who have boats stored on the property make sure you clean up the blocks & all other equipment & tarp materials around your area when you put your boat in the water. Every year when it gets time to put the boats in everyone is excited & anxious to start boating but forget about the mess that is left behind where the boat was. We are not responsible for your clean up. We can not properly mow & weed eat unless the materials are cleaned up around the area where your boat was stored. So please help us out this year by cleaning up so we can keep the grounds looking good. THANKS!!!

Wine Tasting & Crab

Racing.

November 5th . Save the Date.

We will have a wine tasting party with betting on races just like you would with horses or greyhounds only we

will have Hermit Crabs as our racers. It’s a lot of fun & you might win some money. Details TBA.
