End-of-Instruction Testing
The End of Year Instruction Testing (EOI) for the winter semester will begin December 1, 2014 and run
through January 9, 2015. Students are encouraged to prepare during online tutorials, practice tests in the
Testing Coordinator’s Office and get plenty of rest the night before. Please note the following dates. A
schedule is in the works and will available as soon as possible. Due to semester finals being held the week of
December 15 – 19, 2014, we will NOT schedule EOI testing during that time.
December 1 – 5, 2014 – Optional Retest Window
This will include only students have attempted the test previously and were not successful.
Results will be know immediately (with the exception of the English II & III due to scoring of the
writing portion).
December 8, 2014 – January 9, 2015 – Winter Test Window
This will allow all students needing to take the test whether they have actually taken the test or
not. The actual results for these tests will not be known until sometime in the late Winter timeframe.
If at all possible every student testing needs to be in attendance on the test date scheduled. Makeup testing
space will be limited. Just a reminder for students who are enrolled in 9th
, 10th
& 11th
grades, state law
requires passing 4 out of the 7 (EOI) test for graduation requirements. Algebra I and English II are
mandatory subjects requiring passing scores.
If you are concerned about your placement in the EOI status, don’t hesitate to contact Ms. Cochran in the
Counselor’s Office.
PTSA President’s Corner If you haven’t joined the PCN PTSA yet, there is still time. Membership is open to EVERY PCN

FRANCIS TUTTLE CAREER FAIR
On November 18th, sophomores will have the opportunity to talk to Francis
Tuttle representatives about different career training opportunities. Qualified
students can attend Francis Tuttle for half a school day and receive training in
many career areas, including Health Sciences, Culinary, Automotive,
Cosmetology, and more! Representatives from each program will have tables
set up in Panther Hall and students will visit during their sophomore history
class. For more information, contact Mrs. Malahy in the Career Office.
SUN PRESIDENT’S CORNER…. October was a great month for Putnam City North! We started out the month by hosting the Oklahoma
of Association of Student Council’s District 10 conference. Student councils from across the region came for a
day long workshop to help develop their leadership skills. It was a huge success, and we got a lot of positive
feedback! We also had our annual homecoming week this month, starting with Hall-Dec. The theme this year
was “Panthers through the Decades”. Each grade was responsible for creating its own posters to hang around
the Upper Commons. This year the sophomores got 1st place with the 70’s, the freshmen got 2
nd with the
2000’s, followed by the seniors with the 90’s, and the juniors with the 80’s. The following Friday we had our
Homecoming Assembly. Just like the Battle of the Expressway assembly, we got a lot of positive feedback.
Following the assembly, the Panthers took on the Edmond North Huskies for the homecoming game. Annie
Walker was crowned Queen at half-time of the game, which didn’t go quite as planned. Due to a rain delay,
the Homecoming festivities were moved inside, underneath the stadium bleachers. With everyone piled in, and
a path cleared of about 5 feet, the homecoming presentation went on.
We are now looking ahead to November. We are currently working on Harvest Food Drive, so please
donate cans! We can use all the help we can get. The Putnam City Cancer Classic is November 2nd
. You can
register up to the day of the race which is held at Wheeler Park. You can register at
www.pccancerclassic.com; it costs $15 for the Mile Fun Run and $30 for the 5k. Make sure to sign up because
all money will go to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
Finally, we have the annual Leadership Development Institute retreat on Nov. 15-16. This is always a
great way to help unify the student body and build new friendships to bring back to North.
That is the recap of October and what to know for November. Keep an eye out for word of Putnam
City North’s first ever Mudfest, which we hope will happen in November!

CONGRATULATIONS PCN VISUAL ART STUDENTS!
The following students entered and won The Mayor's Committee on Disability Concerns Poster/Billboard contest.
1st place winner was Senior, Kimberly Ma. Her design with her name and school will be placed on billboards ALL around OKC. She was awarded $500. 3rd place winner was Senior, Hunter Thephachanh. He received $200.
Both students and their Visual Arts Teacher Mr. Bryan Powers were recognized at The Mayor’s Luncheon on October 28.
Harvest Drive
Harvest Food Drive started on Monday,
Oct. 28 and will run through Nov. 7.
There will be a competition among each
participating third period. The
competition will also be based on grade
levels. Important things to remember:
1. We will be rewarding 1st, 2
nd, and 3
rd place
winners.
2. The winners will be determined by the number of
cans brought in relationship to the number of
students in the classroom.
For example, a class of 20 who brings 100 cans
would win over a class of 35 who bring 100 cans.
3. All of the canned goods we receive witll to the
Food Bank to feed needy Oklahomans.
Thank you in advance for your GENEROUSITY,
Kayla Reed, SUN Chaplain
Care Share

”PCN Fall Ball”
Saturday, November 8, 2014 – 8pm to Midnight Walnut Creek Chapel – 122nd & Council
This annual event, sponsored by PCN PTSA, is a fundraising event for the PTSA and will be hosted on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 8pm to midnight at Walnut Creek Chapel – located at 7840 NW 122nd. We are looking forward to this lovely evening and venue. Proceeds from the PCN Fall Ball are used to fund scholarships to graduating PCN students. The dress for the evening is semi-formal. No hats or canes of any kind will be allowed.
The bids, or tickets, for the dance are $25 a person. These bids will be on sale at lunch on Monday, November 3rd through Friday, November 7th. Payments can be made in the form of cash, check or credit card (there is a small fee if using a credit card). Please make checks payable to “PCN PTSA”. NO BIDS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. Students must be in good standing to attend the PCN Fall Ball. There will only be 500 tickets sold to this dance. Tickets will be sold on a first come first serve basis.
This is that special dance of the year where “traditionally” the girls ask the guys, but that is OPTIONAL. Guys are welcome to invite girls as well! Bids WILL be sold individually so students can attend as a single or with a group.
The following are the traditional (but optional) responsibilities: Girls – purchase the bids, boutonniere for their date and purchase or make a garter for keepsake. Guys – pay for dinner, purchase corsage for their date and purchase bow tie for keepsake.
All high school grade levels are encouraged to attend and all dates for the dance MUST be at least a high school student. Guests/dates that are NOT PC North students are permitted with prior approval of the PC North Administration office. Forms for outside guests are available in the Main office. These forms need to be submitted by Monday, October 27, 2014.
Once the students enter the dance, they are not permitted to leave the building and reenter. Security is provided. Chaperones are the Fall Ball Committee parents and the PCN staff.
If you are interested in volunteering on the Fall Ball Committee, please contact Tammy Seibert at 226-8573 or Kellie McFarland at 834-0576. #pcnfallball
