As the winter cold & flu season is soon to be upon us, and with Ebola now in the United States, we are suspending shaking hands at the sign of peace and following Mass. Please acknowledge those around you with a wave or nod of the head. We will have Holy Communion under one species. The Precious Blood will not be offered until further notice.

All our Parishioners are asked to turn out in support of this important fund raiser. Posters are available in the vestibules of the Churches, please take some and place them in businesses that you frequent.

BAKE SALE St. Brigid Altar & Rosary Society will sponsor a BAKE SALE at the Turkey Party, THIS Thursday, November 20th, at Neumann Hall. All bakers are asked to bake their favorite “goodies” for the occasion. Please price your items. Thank you for your help and cooperation!

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS ~ A JOURNEY IN FAITH Classes for RCIA have begun. Classes are held on Thursday evenings in the Rectory. This is for anyone who would like to become a Catholic OR learn more about our faith. If you are interested, please attend class or speak with Deacon Ken. .

CONFESSIONS FOR CCD STUDENTS (Note: Confessions for students are held at the regularly scheduled Confession times; Saturday - 4:00 to 4:20PM; Sunday - following 8:00AM Mass; and following 10:30AM Mass.) Following are the Confessions still scheduled: THIS WEEKEND—November 15/16—Confessions for grades 8-12. Parents and teachers are asked to help prepare students for Confession and remind them when it is their turn for Confession.

THANK YOU BRUNCH FOR VOLUNTEERS—SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23RD Sunday, November 23rd, we will be honoring all volunteers in our Parish that have committed to an activity on a regular basis. A brunch for volunteers and their families will be held in Neumann Center beginning at 12 Noon. If you are a member of the following: Parish Council, Finance Council, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Choir, Officers of Altar and Rosary, Altar Servers, CCD Teachers, Food Pantry Coordinator, Adoration Coordinator, this years Fund Raiser Co-chairmen/Committee Persons, CYO Moderator, Softball Team Manager, RCIA leaders, Money Counters, or lawn maintenance personnel, or Ad Book Committee, you are invited to attend. COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING SERVICE ~ CORRECTION On Tuesday, November 25th, beginning at 7:00PM, we will hold our Annual Community Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service with Silver Lake Presbyterian Church. The Service will be held at the Silver Lake Presbyterian Church this year, because the Service was called off because of bad weather last year. St. Brigid Parish will provide the guest homilist. All St. Brigid Parishioners are welcome to attend. Please come and thank God for all He has done for us in the past year and pray for our Country. Light refreshments will follow the service.

ALTAR & ROSARY MEETING/CHRISTMAS PARTY The Altar &Rosary Society will meet on Wednesday, December 10th at 6:00PM at Neumann Hall. There will be a brief meeting as well as packing of Sunshine Baskets for Shut-Ins’ and a Covered Dish Dinner Christmas Party. Please bring your special baked goods for 22 baskets that will be packed. Also, a Dish to pass at the Covered Dish Dinner. All ladies of the Parish are invited and welcome to attend.

CHRISTMAS CANTATA A joint Christmas Cantata will be held with the Little Meadows Methodist Church on Friday, December 12th, at 6:30PM. Practice will be held on Monday evenings at 6:30PM at the Little Meadows Methodist Church. All are welcome to attend. Anyone who would like to join the Choir for this occasion would be very welcome.

THANK YOU BRUNCH FOR VOLUNTEERS—SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23RD Sunday, November 23rd, we will be honoring all volunteers in our Parish that have committed to an activity on a regular basis. A brunch for volunteers and their families will be held in Neumann Center beginning at 12 Noon. If you are a member of the following: Parish Council, Finance Council, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Choir, Officers of Altar and Rosary, Altar Servers, CCD Teachers, Food Pantry Coordinator, Adoration Coordinator, this years Fund Raiser Co-chairmen/Committee Persons, CYO Moderator, Softball Team Manager, RCIA leaders, Money Counters, or lawn maintenance personnel, or Ad Book Committee, you are invited to attend. COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING SERVICE ~ CORRECTION On Tuesday, November 25th, beginning at 7:00PM, we will hold our Annual Community Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service with Silver Lake Presbyterian Church. The Service will be held at the Silver Lake Presbyterian Church this year, because the Service was called off because of bad weather last year. St. Brigid Parish will provide the guest homilist. All St. Brigid Parishioners are welcome to attend. Please come and thank God for all He has done for us in the past year and pray for our Country. Light refreshments will follow the service.

ALTAR & ROSARY MEETING/CHRISTMAS PARTY The Altar &Rosary Society will meet on Wednesday, December 10th at 6:00PM at Neumann Hall. There will be a brief meeting as well as packing of Sunshine Baskets for Shut-Ins’ and a Covered Dish Dinner Christmas Party. Please bring your special baked goods for 22 baskets that will be packed. Also, a Dish to pass at the Covered Dish Dinner. All ladies of the Parish are invited and welcome to attend.

CHRISTMAS CANTATA A joint Christmas Cantata will be held with the Little Meadows Methodist Church on Friday, December 12th, at 6:30PM. Practice will be held on Monday evenings at 6:30PM at the Little Meadows Methodist Church. All are welcome to attend. Anyone who would like to join the Choir for this occasion would be very welcome.

HAM & TURKEY PARTY The Rush Volunteer Fire Co. will host their Ham & Turkey Party THIS Saturday, November 15th, at 7:00PM at the Rush Social Hall, Lawton, Pa. Benefits the Rush Volunteer Fire Company. All are welcome to attend.

FREE FOOD DISTRIBUTION VIA THE WEINBERG FOOD BANK

This free food distribution for those in need is for RESIDENTS OF SUSQUEHANNA COUNT ONLY. Any resident of Susquehanna County who needs food is welcome. Distribution will be held THIS TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 18TH, from 12Noon to 2:00PM, and 5-7PM at the Little Meadows United Methodist Church.

ALL YOU CAN EAT BREAKFAST The Little Meadows Fire Company will hold an all you can eat breakfast on Sunday, November 30th, from 7AM to 11AM, at Whitetails Bar, Little Meadows. Price is $8.00 adult $4.00 children. Benefits the Little Meadows Fire Company. Breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, French toast, bacon, sausage gravy with biscuits, home fries, baked goods, and beverages. All are invited to attend and enjoy a delicious breakfast!

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA

The Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Company will host a “Breakfast with Santa” on Saturday, December 6th, from 9 to 11AM. Bring the kids b to get their picture taken with Santa, have some breakfast treats and get a gift from Santa. All are wel-come—free to all. We will also be accepting donations for the Food Pantry that day. Breakfast will be at the SLVFC Sta-tion 1 on Quaker Lake Road, Brackney. THANKSGIVING GIFT CARDS AND/OR FOOD PANTRY If you know anyone who needs a THANKSGIVING FOOD BASKET, please call Rosalynd Perlick-Spencer (570-663-2212), as soon as possible. Donations of turkeys or money to purchase turkeys would be appreciated. We also have (14) area families ranging in size from 1 person to 5 people, on our list to receive FOOD CARDS. If you know of anyone that needs help, please let us know by November 17th. If you have put someone on the list in the past and they no longer need help, please let us know. Donations are needed by November 17th. All donations for FOOD CARDS or TURKEYS for the FOOD BASKETS should be put in an envelope in the collection and marked “Attention Kay”. All donations are greatly appreciated.

SPECIAL COLLECTIONS FOR THE CHRISTMAS SEASON Our Parish is participating special collections for the upcoming Christmas Season. We ask for your help in reaching our goals for these collections.

The first is collecting 250 boxes of Hot Chocolate Mix for the Susquehanna County Christmas Bureau. This group provides the ingredients for Christmas Dinner for low income families in Susquehanna County. A box is in the back of the Church for these donations. The deadline for donations is Monday, December 8th. (Hot Chocolate Mix is available at the Dollar stores at better prices than the grocery stores.)

Second is to collect men’s and women’s disposable razors to go to the St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen in Scranton. These are added to shoe boxes full of other toiletry articles given to guests at the Kitchen. These donations are needed by Monday, December 1st. (300 razors are needed.)
