Job 38:31–43
L The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it,
the world and those who dwell therein.
C For the Lord has founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the rivers.
L Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord,
and who may stand in God's holy place?C Those of innocent hands
and purity of heart,who do not swear on
God's being, nor do they pledge by what is false.
L They shall receive blessing from the Lord
and righteousness from the God of their salvation.C Such is the generation of those who seek you, O Lord,
of those who seek your face, O God of Jacob.
L Lift up your heads, O gates; and be lifted up, O
everlasting doors,that the King of glory may come in.
C Who is this King of glory?The Lord, strong and
mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle!
L Lift up your heads, O gates; and be lifted up, O everlasting doors,
that the King of glory may come in.C Who is this King of glory?
Truly, the Lord of hosts is the King of glory.
Phillipians 2:5-11
Alleluia! Lord and Savior: open now your saving word.Let it burn like fire within us; speak until our hearts are stirred.Alleluia! Lord, we sing for the good news that you bring.
P The holy gospel according to Matthew.

Brightest and best of the stars of the morning,
dawn on our darkness and lend us your aid.
Star of the east, the horizon adorning,guide where our infant redeemer is laid.
Cold on his cradle the dewdrops are shining;low lies his head with the beasts of the stall;angels adore him in slumber reclining,maker and monarch and savior
of all.
What shall we give him, in costly devotion?Shall we bring incense and off'rings divine,gems of the mountain and pearls of the ocean,myrrh from the forest or gold from the mine?
Vainly we offer each ample oblation,vainly with gifts would his favor secure;richer by far is the heart's adoration,dearer to God are the prayers of the poor.
Brightest and best of the stars of the morning,
dawn on our darkness and lend us your aid.
Star of the east, the horizon adorning,guide where our infant redeemer is laid.
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord,
Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten
of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary
and became truly human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
L Waiting for the fulfillment of our hope in Christ's promised coming, we pray for the church, those in need, and all of God's creation.
L Hear us, O God.
C Your mercy is great.
L Into your hands, O God, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy, through Jesus Christ our Savior. C Amen.
L The peace of Christ be with you always.
C And also with you.

Lord, whose love in humble servicebore the weight of human need,who upon the cross, forsaken,worked your mercy's perfect deed:
we, your servants, bring the worshipnot of voice alone, but heart;consecrating to your purposeev'ry gift which you impart.
L Let us pray.God of mercy and grace, the eyes of all wait upon you,and you open your hand in
blessing.
L Fill us with good things at your table, that we may come to the help of all in need, through Jesus Christ, our redeemer and Lord.C Amen.
P The Lord be with you.C And also with you.P Lift up your hearts.C We lift them to the
Lord.
P Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
C It is right to give our thanks and praise.
P It is indeed right…
…we praise your name and join their unending hymn:
C Holy, holy, holy Lord,
God of pow'r and might,
heaven and earth are full
of your glory.
C Hosanna in the highest.Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.Hosanna in the highest,hosanna in the highest.
P In the night…
… for the remembrance of me:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
forever and ever. Amen.
C O Lamb of God, you bear the sin of all the world away;
you suffered death our lives to save:
have mercy now, we pray.
C O Lamb of God, you bear the sin of all the world away;
you set us free from guilt and grave:
have mercy now, we pray.
C O Lamb of God, you bear the sin of all the world away;
eternal peace with God you made:
give us your peace, we pray.

to your truth may we be found.
