COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN EXECUTIVE SUMMARY North Magoffin Elementary North Magoffin Elementary School is in its third year of operation. The school is a consolidation of Millard Hensley, Middle Fork, and Prater Borders Elementary Schools. Our school currently serves approximately 500 students ranging from Headstart through the 6th grade. We are located approximately 1 ½ miles West of Salyersville on Route 460. MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of North Magoffin Elementary School, in cooperation with students, teachers, administrators, parents, and the community, will work continuously to develop life long learners capable of achieving their maximum academic potential and become productive members of a global society. As a team, we developed the mission statement using a format from a KASC training during our team building PD in July 2008. Our mission statement is reviewed annually. PROCESS OF DEVELOPING THE COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL PLAN: Teachers, parents, and community members used the Data Analysis Results and both formal and informal survey results to develop the Comprehensive School Plan. Agendas were posted in advance and parents/community members were notified by notes that there was a set time for parents and the community to come and review the plan and give input. As the plan was developed, stakeholders studied the plan through e-mail with opportunities to respond. HOW PUBLIC COMMENT WAS SECURED AND WHAT RESPONSE WAS MADE: Notification of the Site Based Decision Making meeting was publicized through radio announcements (radio, school parent newsletters, and the local news (YNT). Parents and committee members present for the meeting were presented with a copy of the Comprehensive Improvement Plan for review and discussion. The NM SBDM Council will review CSIP I/I checks monthly. The Council reviewed drafts of the components at the April 8, 2009. The CSIP was approved at the April 14, 2009 meeting. HOW COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN WILL BE ENSURED IN THE FUTURE:
