• Layout and Design – The layout of the DPS is in a classic style. On the first page the text is on top of an image, however the DPS is mainly text led rather than being picture led. There are seven columns of text in the DPS which is set out between the images to give an mix of images and text.

• Images Used – The images used are a mix of Dizzee Rascal’s personality. The first, is one of Dizzee Rascal on his first NME photo shoot in February 2003 when he was seen as a underground artist. He is on top of a building with other buildings in the background, which gives it a underground feel. The second is one of Dizzee Rascal winning the mercury music prize, in 2007, which symbolises the rise of his commercial success. The next photo is Dizzee Rascal on stage with Calvin Harris performing at a festival in July 2009, this shows his rapid rise to stardom. The final picture is one of him recording his video for his track Bonkers, which received commercial success.

• Pull Quote – The pull quote says “I can walk down the street and someone’s gonna recognise me, I’m a celebrity, aren’t I?” this makes him appear down to earth and being just a “normal guy”. It also shows his rise to stardom and commercial success.

• Copy – The article is a mix of direct quotes from Dizzee Rascal and descriptive language. We find out about his rise to stardom and it makes him come across as a really friendly, bubbly and down to earth guy who is living the dream, so I would think that Dizzee Rascal would be happy with the article as it gives off a good impression of himself.

• VALS - The VALS of the readership is to have a look into the life of their favourite pop stars and to be up to date with the popular music scene. They would probably be interested in going to gigs and listening to music. Readers may also have an interest in fashion as all of the pop/rock stars are setting trends for the readers, there are also quite a few adverts throughout the magazine for clothing.

• Photoshop CS3 Techniques - There are quite a few stencils used on the first page of the DPS layered behind the text to give a sort of graffiti effect. The image of Dizzee Rascal and Calvin Harris on the second page is slightly tilted to give a scrap book feel to the article, which makes it seem more personal to the readers.
