ANALYSIS OF ARTICLES- DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD 1 NME Mise en scene created by graffiti wall background – making Dizzee look like he is outdoors and causing trouble. The corner of the page contains the date, NME title and page number, these things are included to remind the reader of NME constantly, which is to do with branding and promoting their magazine. Analysis of written article

It is written in 4 short columns.

The style and content of the article is easy to read and laid back.

The article is based on how Dizzee Rascal has turned his life around and about how he has gone from a graffiti

tagging youth to a famous rap artist.

The main headline is dramatic, big and bold and links to the content of the article.

The main heading looks like magazine cuttings portraying that Lily is an everyday girl and no different because she is famous. Byline (credit for author and photographer) tells

the audience who produced the article.

Text begins with a large letter ‘l’ using drop caps showing it is the start of the article.

Sub heading gives the reader an insight to what the article is about.

The background is plain white which makes Lily stand out more and so it does not distract the reader from the picture and article.

Page number shows the audience the page they are on. NME title is a constant reminder to the reader what magazine it is. The date confirms when the article was released.

Main image shows Lily made up with her make up but wearing casual clothes which supports the main heading in the picture as it is showing she is just an everyday girl and not overly glamorous.

Analysis of written article

The article itself is basically about how Lily is an honest person and tells people how it is and expresses her

opinions.

The person interviewing Lily also mentions about how she is portrayed in the press.

The style of writing is laid back, which seems to be the style of writing NME go for which attracts the readers

more as it is easy to read and enjoyable.

The article is written in four short columns.

The main headline is quite dramatic and stands out on the page to catch the readers eye.
