General Questions

Why are you applying for the NST 2010.2?AIESEC as a national entity every day becomes stronger and wider coverage of quality experiences, so it is a great challenge for the people who run the whole strategy and experience of more than 1500 members and over 300 exchanges, so I think that this new stage and further supports my professional development process and as a leader, because I always look for new ways to impact the lives of others and also what better way to experience this impact through the use of tools I have for my studies and is a subject I enjoy working.

What are your 3 key expectations for the role

AIESECColombia What have been your 3 main achievements in AIESEC?

you are applying for?? Develop a structured national strategy that could show the importance of the adequate uses of social media, and how that could impact in any kind of organization, and also establish the connections between revenue and social media.? The marketing is one of my passions, as it is the design and the improvement of processes, and with this role I hope I can develop a lot of experience in this field and understand it even more.? The last expectation is based in the output I want to develop in this role, and is show how the marketing and the new tecnologies affect our environment, and mainly the the one where AIESEC develops (students/Corporate)

Strategic Plan for Education and Support: I've created an education plan based on a analysis of needs and knowledge of the LCs in the platform tools, which is based on intensive and continuous work by NIMT. Based in training sessions, challenges for the member in every area(In this kind of challenge they could start to feel the need to use the platform and the connection with them areas), and adapted to the "Approach to Exchange".

Developing a culture of intelligent relations: During the past year looking Pereira AIESEC involvement characterized by strong TN we only takers, but also with organizations that give added value to our experience, in which we have a strong involvement of partners in training , participation in guild events and organizations in the city, positioning virtual media partners and strong support from youth organizations to more coverage.

Restructuring and Innovation in Quality @ XPs: since the beginning of 2010, I implemented radical changes in the structure and processes @ Pereira, so focused on macro. Within which is restructuring of induction and selection process, the formulation of macro-projects with partners, based campaigns implamentacion safe moving experience.

Specific Questions

First we should use social media as the main way to contact with the students (not members) and as complementary way to contact with our partners, and also mainly help in the right positioning that we need to be more relevant and impactful in Colombia. But how we should do that:

it is related with the members that are the main participants in the social media in the AIESEC network. Been a participant is simple, and it don't take lot of time. The way we should do is By sharing Experiences, it mean the members are content developers, our experience is the best way to share AIESEC, and some examples of how to do it is: Taking a trip to the blogosphere, Going to Technorati or Google Blog Search and search for your brand to track the buzz surrounding it. we might want to post a comment in some of those blogs or correct any wrong information Building presence on sites like Flickr and YouTube. Again, add a comment if you feel there is a need to. This is also a good place to get an education about how people are using your images. Managigng corporate Twitter account, as LC and MC level. Getting the right audience to follow you is the tough one. We have to start off by searching for the right people and institutions to follow. Posting images and videos from company events or a normal day in the office. Flickr, Facebook and YouTube are all readily available for you to utilize. By this we share how is our organizations with other, but keeping always our brand. Maintain a Facebook page. This is a time consuming, but also very effective platform. It is where fans are most willing to listen to what we have to say about our brand.

That's is one the roles that we are taking account when we develop our social media strategy, because we don't develop an integrated and brand aligned strategy for all virtual spaces, it mean to have connection with all our virtual spaces, not only posting information, but connecting all, giving the right audience the right information. This role should be develop mainly by the MC and the EBs, because this is the develop of information, the beginning of communities based on AIESEC and the needs of us,

it's what I want to the people read about us, about our way to do the things. The easiest way to develop members as content providers is Start a blog. For me, there is nothing like having a blog where you can truly control your communication and allow readers to interact with you. The biggest challenge for blogging is the need to publish good content frequently, and it could be really usefull as a way to show the experiences of our members(mostly EPs or Trainees).

Is the biggest way to engage people and members in our channels in social media. The toughest part of community building is community moderation. You are now a relationship officer, as well as a judge. You have to know when to intervene and when not to. But we don't have to develop or design any other of social network, we can make it through the ones we have, by having interactive spaces between AIESEC and the external environment, we can develop ways to involve our user in the topics we want and even get more information about them, it could be in our facebook main page, creating forums, letting the user to be participants in our network. Another way to do it is Integrating [email protected] with the social media, that is simple, is just to have a strong connection between our internal and external communication, making links, posting our tools and wikis in the social media, etc.

How AIESEC in Colombia should use Social Media?

Been a participant

Been a content provider

Be a community builder

SWOT of Social Media at AIESEC in Colombia

Strengths Weaknesses

Opportunities Threats

?Adequate usage of the Official Channel of Facebook and with 1628 fans and 1572 members of the group(not enough) and big amount of members using this tool. ?1507 followers, is a good number, but not enough for an international organization.?Members have the capacity to post in every kind of social media, and connect it with his @XP.?Development of the product and improving of stakeholder XPs using social media.?Developing reputation in marketplace.

?Facebook is the biggest social media platform in Colombia and Colombia is the country with most growth in it.?Lot of tools that help to improve communication, because it has viral nature.?Well established position with a well defined market niche, and our main market (students) use social media.?It could help to get into new markets, mostly Tts Eps?Support to the CRM, because help to know even more the students and what they want.?Help to engage the members with online work and connect it with [email protected]

?In facebook, NOT using the tool of events and Lack of connection with local entities or links with them.?Not enough relation with corporate channels of our partners(by AIESEC channel and members profiles)?78 tweets, that is a low level of activity, and it could generate lack of interest by followers.?Wring positioning in the social media environment(just an exchange agency)?Low or not use of the Blogs as a way to communicate and support the eXPerience?Lots of videos in youtube, but with any coherency, and also are not connected with the national channel

?Have easy access from any kind of people, and any kind of messages and pictures. ?It’s hard to control th message and the way the people use it.?If the social tools is left behind for a long time, the followers or fans could get bored.?Wrong use of the brand, or not give the right message.(with a bad review, 30 users are gone)?Easy to be supplant by external people.
