CATHOLIC CEMETERIES ANNUAL MASS

Catholic Cemeteries & Funeral Services – Archdiocese of Toronto wishes to invite all families within the Archdiocese of Toronto to participate in the Annual Mass for the Faithful Departed on Wednesday August 13th, 2014 at 7 pm. Masses throughout the Greater Toronto Area will take place for the souls of the deceased buried at our Catholic Cemeteries. Please refer to the posters on our Bulletin Board for the Cemetery locations and Celebrants for this year’s Annual Mass or go to: http://bit.ly/FaithfulDeparted In the event of rain, Mass will be held in the mausoleum at Assumption, Holy Cross, Resurrection and Queen of Heaven Cemeteries. Christ the King Cemetery will celebrate Mass on site in the Reception Centre. Mount Hope Cemetery to St Monica’s Parish, 44 Broadway Ave, Toronto. Vi ricordiamo che come ogni anno, nei cimiteri cattolici si celebrerà una Santa Messa a meta agosto. Quest’anno la data è fissata per mercoledì 13 agosto alle 7 di sera. Solo nel caso che sarà un giorno di pioggia, la Messa va trasferita a un locale coperto. Cerchiamo di ricordare i nostri santi morti e di pregare per loro.

MISSION CO-OP SEPTEMBER 6/7

Ernakulam-Angamaly is an archdiocese in central Kerala, south-west province of India. His Beatitude Mar George Cardinal Alencherry is the major archbishop. At present there are 439 diocesan priests in the archdiocese and not less than 300 religious priests and almost 1500 religious sisters working in the archdiocese. There are also 170 seminarians at different levels of their formation in the archdiocese. The total catholic population in the diocese is almost 500,000.

The archdiocese has 337 parishes and 100 quasi parishes/missions. The archdiocese also venture a number of social development programs like boarding houses for boys and girls, hostels, hospitals, schools, colleges etc. rendering service to the people of different faiths. Mission co-operation program 2014 is meant to support education of missionaries and food & medical aid for the poor.

Fr. Tom George will be visiting the parish in September for mission appeal. Now he serves in the archdiocese as Director of Little Flower Mission League, Pontifical Mission Societies and a pastor in a parish.

Attualmente nell’arcidiocesi operano 439 sacerdoti diocesani e non meno di 300 sacerdoti religiosi e 1500 suore religiose. In oltre, vi risiedono circa 170 seminaristi nelle varie fasi di formazione sacerdotale. L’intera popolazione cattolica dell’arcidiocesi conta quasi 500.000 fedeli. L’Arcidiocesi ha anche elaborato vari programmi di sviluppo sociale come ad esempio: case per bambini, ostelli, ospedali, scuole, collegi ecc. prestando servizio a favore di persone di diverse fedi religiose. Il “Programma di Cooperazione Missionaria” 2014 è diretto a realizzare iniziative di formazione dei missionari e a fornire cibo e assistenza medica ai bisognosi.

Padre Tom George visiterà la nostra Parrocchia a settembre per rivolgere a noi un appello missionario. Attualmente svolge l’incarico di Direttore della Little Flower Mission League (una Congregazione Missionaria detta ‘Piccolo Fiore’), delle Pontificie Opere Missionarie ed è Parroco in una delle Parrocchie dell’arcidiocesi.
