Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society Fall Virtual Workshop with Sarah Yeoman

Location: Your home via ZOOM Dates: Saturday October 10 – Monday October 12 Time: 9:30 am – 4:00 pm Lunch: 12:15 pm – 1 pm Fee: Members $150; Non-Members $185

Registration Procedures:

• The workshop is limited to 23 participants.

• Reservations accepted by postmarked reply only (mail) and in order of postmark date, with preference given to current NFWS members. Mail completed application and check to: Phyllis Vasbinder 262 Selkirk Drive North Tonawanda NY 14120

• A check for the full amount payable to the Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society must accompany your completed reservation form. You may also join NFWS (see option on the application below). This includes a $25 non-refundable deposit.

• If you do not wish to have confirmation and supply list sent by email, include self-addressed envelope with registration.

• No refunds 45 days prior to the workshop, unless the workshop is cancelled by NFWS.

Requirements to participate in virtual workshop:

1. Computer (desktop or laptop) or tablet with embedded or external camera and microphone 2. Internet service 3. ZOOM app downloaded 4. Experience with ZOOM and/or participation in our ZOOM introduction and test run prior to

workshop

NOTE: Technical support will be available prior to and during the workshop

Organization of the workshop:

1. The instructor will do demonstrations and provide reference materials 2. Participants will have time to paint and may use their own references 3. Participants will be able to ask questions during the workshop via a chat application in ZOOM 4. The instructor will end each day with about an hour to look at and comment on participants’ work.

To do this, participants would hold up paintings in view of their camera.

About the Artist: Sarah Yeoman is an award-winning American watercolor artist and a signature member of the Philadelphia Water Color Society, the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and the Delaware Watercolor Society. Her mastery of reflections, unique surface layers, and unusual perspective clearly sets her apart from the crowd.

Living in Delaware in the northeastern United States, she is recognized for her command of light, narrative and strength of story. In the summer, Sarah follows in Winslow Homer’s footsteps in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State, hiking and paddling in remote locations where she paints and collects references. She is equally at home in urban and lush garden settings. Sarah describes her artistic process as “sculpting and pulling the form out of the paper,” much as a sculpture releases the form from the marble. Her imaginative and unusual perspective frames her work with the deepest ability to project how she sees the world, formed by shadow and light.
