MARY DELOYHT-ARENDT WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP
Saturday, November 27th 2004
Mary DeLoyht-Arendt is a signature member of the National Watercolor
Society and the Plein-Air Painters of America. She is also a royal member of
the Arizona Watercolor Association, is in Who’s Who in Western Art, and has
received both the gold and silver Grumbacher Medallion awards. Mary was featured in The
Artist’s Magazine (May 2002), American Artist (November 2001), Watercolor (winter 1999),
and Watercolor Magic (summer 1997 and 1998), and she is also featured in the North
Light books Splash 3, 5 and 7, Making your Watercolors Look Professional, Painting with
the White of Your Paper, The Best of Flower Painting, and The Language of Landscape published by International Artist magazine.
Mary has taught watercolor workshops in many states, as well as in England, France and Mexico. Mary is a gifted artist and teacher,
especially in painting beautiful light and shadow patterns. She will demon-
strate how painting expressive negative shapes can make the positive
shapes spring into life.
The day will begin with discussion on what makes a good composition,
and demos on compositional problems and how to solve them.
Sketchbooks are important. We will be doing a still life with flowers and
other objects, experimenting with different approaches. Techniques and
color mixing will be part of the demo talk. Questions and answers and a
critique will end the day. I always work with each student, and hopefully you will find it a rewarding and fun day, and at the same
time you will be giving to the building fund.
This workshop will be Saturday, November 27th 2004 from 9:00A.M. to 4:P.M at the
Arizona Artists Guild building, 8912 North 4th Street, Phoenix- (2 blocks south of
Dunlap). Karsh’s Bakery has generously donated pastries for breakfast: bring a bag
lunch. The cost is a $100.00 donation to the AAG building fund for AAG members,
$140.00 for non-members, which includes a membership.
To register for this workshop, email [email protected], or telephone Rita Goldner at 480-948-6547.
