  • JOYS: Pastor Tolli thanked the Choir and Pianist for all the beautiful music they pro-vide for our worship services. Mary Schutz was joyful that there was lots of volunteer support from our Congregation for the fundraiser for completing the lobby of the Food Bank. $32,000 was raised, surpassing the goal of $25,000. Susan Waldrip is excited that her son-in-law Nicholas Fauquier has an inter-view with Kistler at 2pm on Monday; also Billy Youngblood is doing better and may go home this week.

Jen Burroughs is doing so much better after having a heart valve replaced. She is at currently at rehab, but will be home on Tues. Thank you, Lord. Joanna Fritz joyfully told us that her son John Paul and his girlfriend Kate have both passed the bar exam. She thanks us for our prayers for them. Vic Rice will be coming home on the 27th. Praise the Lord! The Carpenters for Christ will be building a ramp for them. Phil Draper thanked everyone for all the care, concern, and good food they provided while Carolyn was recovering! Hank and Sue Ander visited Dudley Bumpass and said he is very happy with all he is doing at the nursing home. He likes their food, too! Waymon and Jean Hughen are doing well in their new home. Kay and Terry Kamp are doing much better. CONCERNS: Susan Waldrip asks for prayers for her cousin, Mary Stout, who has lung cancer. She feels better since the tube has been taken out of her lungs, but we still need to pray for her. Also she requests we keep Suzanne Smith, a friend from the Cayman Islands, who has colon can-cer, in our prayers. Janet Martin's friend George Hopper who is in ICU, has had a setback and has been put back on the ventilator. Roy Burrel is doing better, but needs prayer as he undergoes rehab. Linda Timmerman's 90-year old mother, fell Saturday night and broke her hip. She was care-flighted to Baylor in Dallas. Linda is a former member of Lakeside UMC who lives in The Wil-derness. We need to pray for Linda's mother and David and Linda as this situation unfolds. Edna Markum had surgery recently and we pray for a speedy recovery. The doctors have determined that Brian Andrews' brain tumor has grown and is inopera-ble. Brian is now in Dallas. Please pray for Brian and his wife. This is a difficult time for both of them. Carolyn Draper asks us to pray for her uncle Les Fisler who is 88 years old and has brain cancer. Please pray for Amanda Wright's son Jared. Our friend and brother Brian Andrews can't drive anymore. He is in Dallas with his wife now and is working with doctors about his prognosis. Brian has an inoperable brain tumor. Cassie Yarbrough’s dad, Richard Soltis, has passed away on 9/16. Cassie and family will remain in Salt Lake City, UT for the viewing this Friday and service on Saturday. Please keep Cassie, Billy, Bethany, Kaylee and their family in your prayers! May the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26 Lord, hear our prayers!

    More news to come!

    Sunday, September 29th

Featuring Local Talent Mary Schutz is looking for those that love to sing and want

to lift their voices in joyful noise to the Lord! Is that you? Well, come on down & give Mary a buzz.

The Fifth Sunday Sing is a wonderful way to get together and spread the Word. If you don’t sing, at least come

down and hear the joyful noise yourself.

ALL WELCOME! Bring a canned good for the Community Food Bank

    Flying Solo Outing

to Corsicana Emmett Marshal has been working with the City of Corsicana on the restoration project of that beautiful synagogue across the street from the HEB. He has been able to not only get the building open for us to

peek inside but also, one of the volun-teers will greet us and give us a tour. The tour will commence at 10:30 am. After the tour, we will enjoy a “bit of Italy” at the new Italian restaurant, El-linya’s, on 7th street. We invite anyone interested to please join us.

If you would like to carpool, please meet at the church parking lot at 9:30. If you are going to drive yourself, there is parking behind the synagogue.

Please let Susan Pokorski know if you are planning on attending so we can get

the reservation number correct for the restaurant and for sure, not leave anyone from our parking lot. Hope to see you there!
