Sam & Mountain, from Wisconsin, were guests as well. TREASURER’S REPORT: Linard gave the treasurer's report. NEWSLETTER REPORT: Gnarly gave the newsletter report. He asked the vanners if he had gotten the mix of fewer, larger, photos right in the current newsletter. He did. Deadline for inputs to the next newsletter is January 31. Museum of Vanning April 11, 2021 – Third Annual Tax Relief Fundraiser - $15 per van – Discount on food – Details somewhat tentative, based on COVID -19 situation in April. National Truck-in® July 7 - 11, 2021 – Dates changed from July 8 – 12. Complete information is on the Nats website. www.van-nationals.com Trophy sponsorships are $50 for “Best Of” and $35 for 1st or 2nd Place. Golf Cart rentals are $345. Adventure Vans October 22 - 24, 2021 – Robinson Ranch near Dunnellon - Early arrivals OK – Prices to be announced, but will probably be in line with the 2020 prices. Turkey Van Run November 20, 2021 – Green Demon Vans – Bruce Rossmeyers Destination Daytona – Van Show Green Demon Vans Daytona's Van Night - Recurring eVant – Every 3rd Friday at the Shoebox Saloon -1903 South Ridgewood Avenue – South Daytona, FL - 7 PM to Close. VAN-IN PROPOSALS: No new vanning proposals. MEETING DATES for 2021: March 6 Sidewinder's in White Springs OLD BUSINESS: There was no old business NEW BUSINESS: River Forest Group Camping Area is in the Ocala National Forest, which is Federal property. As such, they gave us notice on Friday, January 8, 2021 that all Federal facilities, including River Forest, are closed. That gave us exactly one week to find another campground for our January meeting. And, we secured Robinson Ranch for this meeting. Typically, we try to get the Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLKJr) date, as it is a 3-day weekend. We could probably get either place for our January 2022 meeting.

Page 6: Next FVC meeting

6

One of the drawbacks is that the Federal Government can shut down River Forest with, essentially, no notice. The drawback for River Forest is that it has no electric. The bonus is that it has that very nice screened-in Gazebo, with adequate tables and the big table with lots of electrical outlets for crock pot dishes. Robinson Ranch has plenty of space to spread out, plus electric, water and bigger bathrooms. The drawback is that there is no building for the meeting, so, in case of rain, we have to come prepared with our own canopy to set up. By a hand vote of 14 to 10 the reps decided that we would have the January 2022 meeting at River Forest on the MLKJr weekend. Linard will set that up. OPEN DISCUSSION: Panda Mark noted that he wanted us to have patches made with the new artwork. Linard will check on prices and quantities, and we'll discuss this item at the March meeting. A motion by Rob that the FVC sponsor at full page ad in the Nats commemorative handbook and a trophy was carried by a hand vote. Judith noted that we already have that as a standing motion. Secretary's Note: Scribe researched the FVC By-Laws, Resolutions, and meeting minutes for the last 7 years. He found no specific instance in any of these documents declaring what we do as a standing motion for supporting the National Truck-in® (Nats) or the annual Council of Councils (CofC) meeting. Some reference may have been made to such motions, but they were, clearly, NOT recorded in the FVC Resolutions. The Secretary recommends that a specific standing motion be made for the Nats and the CofC meeting, and it be recorded in the FVC Resolutions. The specific motion should state that the ad (for both) be a full page (or, other, as in “half page”) and the trophy, likewise, be designated as “First place (or, other, as in “Second place”)b. End of Secretary's Note: Joe Van's birthday was today, and he was wished “Happy Birthday Joe” on many instances throughout the day, in a most boisterous manner.

Page 7: Next FVC meeting

7

Council of Council meeting. Mook suggested that the FVC needs to start thinking about fundraisers for the proposed CofC meeting in 2023, if the FVC intends to host the event. Joe Madonia suggested that we make some sort of patch, which he estimates would cost between $2 and $3 and sell them for profit. Judith noted, that, in the current circumstances, she would not try to get in touch with the proposed CofC 2023 hotel until October to discuss final details. Preliminary discussions were started over a year ago, but most hotels will not give a final price, etc. in excess of a year in advance.. A motion that the FVC sponsor a full page ad (for $35) in the 2020 New England Vanning Guide was carried by a hand vote. Gnarly made a motion to adjourn and the 53 minute long meeting was concluded. Respectfully submitted, Scribe John, Secretary

FVC President

Hi everyone! Seems Robinson ranch turned out well for the meeting on such short notice, meeting went well and we are trying to secure River Forest for next year's January meeting, stay tuned, updates to follow. The following weekend we went to freeze 4 all, great turnout (about 58 vans, not including the host club), lots of fun games! mini bike races were a blast! Can't wait to go again next year! 16 FVC members, had some bad news on Saturday, Jose and Delores son, boo's brother passed away. Squirrel and Glenda made up some food and delivered it to boo's house. went by green demons and saw a few of the guys from Tennessee before they left to go home, see u guys in June! The following weekend we went to Taz and Sandy's for the annual party in their back yard, this year was a little different, they got married! Congratulations! Good turn out and a great fire Friday nite, Saturday during the day was nice, after the wedding, around 6 the sky's open up and rained hard, did not put too much of a damper on the festivities due to plenty of can o pees. Band was very good and everyone had a good time. Next up is sidewinders for the meeting/laid back weekend. Hope to see everyone there! Konehead (when your with the kone, your never alone) Thanks to everyone who attended Taz and Sandie's 5th Backyard Bash. Friday night's main event was the lighting of our yearly bonfire. Gnarly was there to give his seal of approval. Saturday afternoon Sandie and I got married. Saturday night amidst the monsoon rains "Innocent Bystanders" set up in our carport and provided us with great music. Thanks to all the generous support, the proceeds of the 50/50 and raffle exceeded our goal and is being donated to our Moose Lodge to help support Moose Heart which is their children's home. We would like to thank everyone who participated and everyone who helped us make this a fun weekend and sharing in our wedding. Please keep safe and hope to see you at as many events as you can make Keep on Vannin' - Taz

FVC Treasurer

Hi Vanners, I want to thank everybody that paid their dues at the last meeting. There is still a few of you that hasn’t yet, so get them in. The last meeting at Robinsons Ranch was a success for a last-minute change. We might not have made anything however, we had a good time. Thanks for everyone who came to make it a success.

Next eVant is Broward’s at Sidewinders. Please get your pre-reg. in so we can make sure we have enough food for everybody. If you just can’t seem to pre reg please give me or Sidewinder a call and let us know. Maybe just pre reg and save yourself 10.00. Pre-reg is 20.00 and at the gate 30.00. Friday night bring some soup for everyone to enjoy if you like. I’m sure Sidewinder will do his famous venison chili. We do breakfast on Saturday morning and supply the meat for Saturday night, you bring a covered dish. We will have firewood so don’t bring any. We have limited power, so generators are welcome!!! Bring your 4-wheeler if you like. Hope to see you there. So, until I see you again. Stay safe and get your shots. Pam and I have gotten both of ours and no side effects. Linard

Hi All, Just want to thank all of you who were able to relocate River Forrest to Robinson Ranch so quickly. Looks like we will be going back to River Forrest next year. The event at Robinson Ranch went well. The food was great and there

was always a fire going on. The band was good. And we were able to play a lot of Yolf thanks to Tom for setting the Yolf game up. It was good to see all of you. Freeze For All was a lot of fun. Everyone got into the mini bike races and the bicycle challenge (the bike had two sprockets on the front axle and no one met the challenge to ride it six feet) was quite a lot of fun. Tom brought Yolf and we had a tournament. I was glad to see so many from the FVC support this event. They did a good job. See you all at Toms Judith

Check it OUT!

Dear Wife, A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during a particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier. Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So, the husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife flying down the following day. The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an email to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her email address, and without realizing his error, sent the e-mail. Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston , a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He was a Baptist minister who was called home to glory following a heart attack. The widow decided to check her e-mail expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted. The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read: To: My Loving Wife Subject: I've Arrived Date: March 21, 2012 I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones. I've just arrived and have been checked in. I've seen that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then! Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was. P. S. Sure is freaking hot down here!!!
