25th January 2013 Spring Term 1 Worsbrough Common Primary School and Rising Stars Children’s Centre Newsletter Access to the School Drive There have been 2 incidents this week when children have been put at risk by the selfish actions of parents unnecessarily driving vehicles up the school drive. For several weeks I have asked politely that vehicles, other than those authorised to do so i.e. parents dropping babies and toddlers at the Children’s Centre do not use the school drive. The drive and carp arks were barely accessible this week but still some individuals choose to ignore the request. Given the incidents this week I have contact the Police to determine how we move to take action against those who consistently and persistently access the drive without authorisation. Could I also ask that ALL parents and carers ensure that they keep to pathway, I was horrified that on two separate occasions there have been children aged 4 and 5 walking down the driveway despite their parents and carers being present. If any unaccompanied children are seen walking down the driveway please could you report it to the school office. Many thanks as ever to the vast majority of parents and carers who work with us and support us in keeping our children safe. Access to the School Drive

There have been 2 incidents this week when children have been put at risk

by the selfish actions of parents unnecessarily driving vehicles up the

school drive. For several weeks I have asked politely that vehicles, other

than those authorised to do so i.e. parents dropping babies and toddlers at

the Children’s Centre do not use the school drive. The drive and carp arks

were barely accessible this week but still some individuals choose to ignore

the request.

Given the incidents this week I have contact the Police to determine how

we move to take action against those who consistently and persistently

access the drive without authorisation.

Could I also ask that ALL parents and carers ensure that they keep to

pathway, I was horrified that on two separate occasions there have been

children aged 4 and 5 walking down the driveway despite their parents and

carers being present. If any unaccompanied children are seen walking down

the driveway please could you report it to the school office.

Many thanks as ever to the vast majority of parents and carers who work

with us and support us in keeping our children safe.

PE Kit

Children need to bring

PE kit on their

allocated PE days , in-

cluding suitable out-

door footwear and a

top and jogging bot-

toms if the weather is

cold.

Most children do now

wear their house col-

our t shirts and look

fantastic!

Football shirts and

strappy tops are not

allowed as PE kit.

Earrings must also be

removed.

If you are unsure

what days your child

has PE please ask

their teacher.

Deputy Mitchell keeps us blogging!

Year 3 and year 4 have again enjoyed our visits from ‘Deputy Mitchell’

who is well known across the UK for his work developing school blogging!

Year 3 had a great session this week

hosting a live blogging session with

Henry VIII. Year 4 also had another

great afternoon blogging with

another school. Have a look at what

they’ve been up too!

Have a lovely weekend!

Chicken Pox!

We have had a number of cases of chicken pox reported this week

in both the Children's Centre and EYFS.

DOGS

Please can I remind

parents/carers that

dogs should not be

brought on to the

school premises.

MR Singh and Mr Little Singh!!

Thank you to Miss Haigh for arranging a visit from Mr Singh for Year 1 and 2 last week!

They had a fabulous afternoon learning more about Sikhism, this terms RE topic. :)

Coats, Scarves, Hats and Wellies!

Please can all parents and carers ensure that

children come to school with the appropriate

clothing. We try to ensure we have outdoor play

whatever the weather and a number of children

have been without coats and appropriate footwear

this week. If children also want to bring track

suit bottoms and tops for outdoor PE

that would be

welcomed too!
