Recap of Recent Events

A fun group of Emerald Club members enjoyed the day in Le Mars on July 9. We began with an “Up Close & Personal” visit with the Brown Family in their private loft above their new theater. They talked about their early years and growing up on the family farm near Le Mars. The family now travels

across the world performing together; while still maintaining the family farm, plus their theater, restaurant, and soon to be Bed & Breakfast right there in Le Mars. Next we en-joyed a summer luncheon in their restaurant, followed by their Patriotic Show back in the theater. They are truly an amazing family to spend the day with! We were so impressed, that we have decided to go back in December for their all new Christmas show. You can find more information on this on the Upcoming Events page.

In Spirit Lake we had our First Annual Carnival & Ice Cream Sundae Bar!

As you can see from the pictures, we had an AMAZING time that included a Caricature Artist, Face Painting for the kids (and 3 of our awesome tell-ers!), games and a Soft-Serve Ice Cream Sundae Bar

A few of our members from Storm Lake and Sioux City joined our Spirit Lake members at the Okoboji Summer Theater for a

matinee performance of Thoroughly Modern Millie. After the show, we en-joyed dinner at Minerva’s. I am pretty sure we would all agree that it will be-come an annual event!

Featuring: The Family Table of Cherokee

The Family Table was opened in January of 1989 by Tim Bois-ten and Ed Otto. Ed became the sole proprietor two years lat-er. It wasn't his original plan, but he realized that Cherokee was the best place to stay after getting to know all the won-derful people!

At The Family Table, they offer great service and a full menu - with breakfast served all day. Over the years they have really concentrated on home cooking. The Family Table is open from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm, Sunday thru Thursday with hours extended to 8:30 on Friday and Saturday evenings. Come enjoy the new noon specials!

In 2006 Ed started Catering in Storm Lake and Spencer. Catering plays a huge part in their business. Ed was quoted as saying “anything to get the revenue in the doors”. So to get our Emerald Club members in the doors, Ed is offering you this EXCLUSIVE deal:

Bring your Emerald Club newsletter into The Family Table in Cherokee during September and you will receive 50% off any meal of $7.00 or more! By: Debbie Nelson
