Dolce Live Kitchen :

Pupil Absence

Dolce have informed us that they are trying to minimise the amount of pre-ordered food not

eaten on a daily basis through pupil absences. This is due to pupils orders not being

cancelled.

May I remind parents that it is your responsibility to inform us if your child is going to be

absent and that you contact us before 9.00am Can you also let us know if you have pre-

ordered a meal for your child for that day.

Pre-ordering for your child

We have noticed some pupils have brought a packed lunch and pre-ordered a hot meal, then

the hot meal has not being taken. Can I ask parents to only pre-order a meal if your child

requires one.

We have also noticed that some parents are not pre-ordering meals for their child and are not

sending the child with a packed lunch. It is your responsibility to book the meal for your child.

If you are unable to access ‘Live Kitchen’ or are experiencing difficulty, please do not hesitate

to contact a member of the school administration team.

It is recommended that parents include their child in the process of ordering their meals as

this will help reduce a child not knowing what has been ordered for them and children also

telling us they don’t like what their parent has ordered on their behalf.

Lunch Service in Primary Schools in Sandwell

Sandwell council are keen to seek your views on the lunch service your child receives from

Old Park Primary in relation to your child’s health. Your feedback will help Sandwell Council

highlight strengths of the lunch provision while also highlighting areas where they can work

with Old Park and Dolce to support further development of lunch service.

Therefore please complete a short survey to provide your feedback at

https://www.snapsurveys.com/wh/s.asp?k=149562189368

Alternatively if you wish to complete a paper copy please ask for one at the School Office

The survey will go live on Monday 2nd October and close on Friday 3rd November 2017

Values Launch at Old Park

As part of our Values Based Education initiative, during the month of Septem-ber we shall be studying the value of Confidence.

Please take a few minutes to visit the school website (www.oldparkprimary.com) and look at the assembly with your child (there are short film clips included as an ‘added extra’, which were not shown in assem-bly).

A definition of confidence is ‘The feeling or belief that one can have faith in or rely on someone or something.’

As this will be our first Value focus in this academic term, we will also be look-ing at Equality, Courage and Hope throughout our autumn term and will be ex-ploring a further seven monthly values in the New Year. A value is a principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Old Parks quotes of the month about our Value Confidence: ‘If you are last in a race don’t get mad. It is the taken part that is important. You are confident and brave. It doesn’t matter if you came last all that mat-

ters is you tried your best.’

Winner in Year 4

‘When I use my confidence I achieve something. It makes me proud so I want to use it more. But if I don’t achieve I will try again in the future’

Savannah in Year 4

We will be running a child and parent project based on our Values in the month of October a letter has been sent out on the Gateway and an electronic reply slip is available. A date will be confirmed once we have had initial interest. Thank you so much for your continued support. Mr Seale.

Payment requirements from Parents

Breakfast Club Payments

May I remind you that payment for breakfast club is required at the beginning of each week

you require a service from us.

If payments are not received

Day One (Monday) - An email/text notification will be sent requesting payment

Day Three (Wednesday) - A letter will be sent requesting payment

Day Five (Friday) - A further letter withdrawing our services from the following Monday

will be sent.

The school’s breakfast club is proving to be very popular. Due to this high demand we currently

have a waiting list of parents who require this service.

In the event your child is withdrawn from our breakfast club and you still require the service, you

could then be added to our waiting list.

Toast/Juice/Milk Payments

May I remind you that payment for toast/Juice/milk is required by the end of the second week

of the half term

If payments are not received

Day One (Monday) - An email/text notification will be sent requesting payment

Day Seven (Monday) - A letter will be sent requesting payment

Day Nine (Thursday) - A further letter withdrawing our services from the following Monday

will be sent.

Unfortunately, each time a debt is accrued, the school has to pay the suppliers from the school

budget. This funding is for education purposes for the pupils of Old Park Primary School, paying

debts from parents is unacceptable.

We do not wish for parents to accrue a large debt which is unmanageable. Therefore, parents

will need to make alternative arrangements if we withdraw our service provision for breakfast

club or the supply of toast, juice and milk.

If you require assistance on how to pay through Schoolcomms, please do not hesitate to ask any

member of the school administrative team who will be happy to help you.

The school does not accept cash payments.

Thank you for your continued support.
