Cindi Kindi will be open as usual. Before and after school care will relocate to another building during this time. Information will be provided to parents closer to the date with details for drop off and pick up. Parent Interviews This year we will be holding formal parent interviews at the end of Term 1. Teachers now have a good knowledge of the children in their class and we feel that it is important to discuss individual progress now so that all students are working towards the outcomes expected over the next three terms. At the end of Term 2, a half yearly report will go home but there will be no formal interview unless requested by a parent or teacher. Interviews will take place in your child’s classrooms from 1.30pm – 6.30pm. The interviews will follow the following formats: ES1 and Stage 1interviews will involve parents and teachers only. Stage 2 and 3 interviews will be a three way interview involving teacher, students and parents. Please save the dates in your diary. A note will go home next week with further information. KD and KJ: Monday 8 April 2019 1/2PK, 1/2L and 1/2M: Tuesday 9 April 2019 3/4T and 3/4R: Wednesday 10 April 2019 4/5M, 5/6D and 5/6B: Tuesday 2 April 2019 Annette Wein Principal Good luck to Amy and Patrick at the Sydney East Regional Swimming carnival next Tuesday. We hope you swim PBs. Due to the downpour overnight we were unable to commence the winter PSSA trials in Soccer and Netball. We do have an adequate amount of time before the commencement of the PSSA season, so our trials will begin in the afternoon sport session for students in Years 3 – 6 next Friday. Remember to continue your cross country training. Perhaps it’s time to up the ante. You could possibly increase your training time, increase the distance or even change from strolling to brisk walking or from relaxed jogging to running. Remember always with adult permission and supervision. The annual Alfords Point Public School Cross Country Carnival in three weeks from today. Families are welcome to attend and support our students as they run the course. Debbie Burke The SRC would like to thank all classes for sharing some great SRC suggestions for this term. As a result from last week’s meeting , our SRC would like the school community to contribute to creating Care Packages for our Australian Soldiers in East Timor. We will be putting together one Care Package per class. There will be a note sent home next week with more details. The SRC have also suggested a few fun things to do in the lead up to our Easter Hat Parade. We will be running our annual Easter Eggshibition on the day of the hat parade and also have an Easter Egg guessing competition which will start in Week 10. Students will also be able to come to school wearing ‘Easter Mufti’ on Thursday 11 April. The SRC will provide more details about these upcoming events to all classes in the next few weeks. YEAR 6 FUNDRAISER ELECTION DAY BBQ

ROCK AWARDS

ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

The upcoming State Election on Saturday 23 March provides us with a great opportunity to raise funds for our school. Many people will pass through the polling booths at Alfords Point Public School, hopefully looking for a BBQ sausage! Similar to previous years, our specific goal is to raise funds to contribute to the Year 6 Farewell Event held in December. For this fundraiser to be a success, we need as many parents as possible to lend a hand for just a few hours on the day. It would be great if every Year 6 parent could assist at some point during the day. Please lend a hand for this fundraiser. Many hands make light work and this fundraising opportunity will benefit all our Year 6 students. If you are able to assist with the BBQ, please click on the link below and fill in your name and contact details next to the time you are available to help http://bbq.pjs.net.au Year 6 Parent Coordinators Once again the Stewart House Donation Drive is on. The envelopes were sent home with the eldest child this week. If you wish to donate, please complete the details on the back of the envelope and place a $2 coin or equivalent in the envelope.
