President’s Message
I would like to thank everyone that worked to make the Banquet and Flea Market such a huge success. Both events were sold out with folks already looking to next year’s. We appreciate your support at these events and enjoy seeing old friends and new faces enjoying themselves.
We have continued our hard work these last months. We worked with Cynthe Coritz, superinten-dent of the NJ fish and Wildlife Todd Pover & Bass River State Forest to put up string line fence to protect shore birds. This project also allows for the beaches to remain open to fishing.
At Island Beach State Park we put up 25 rolls of snow fence with Carole & Kathy providing a nice lunch for all our volunteers.
On April 16th we did Adopt a Beach and picked up 1-1/2 truck loads of trash from A-23 to the jetty.
We attended a meeting in Cape May Court House to support NJOA on their Reef Rescue effort.
On April 30th we participated in Clean Ocean Action cleaning the beach from OBA 2 to A7 of Island Beach State Park loading 2 pickup trucks full of trash and wood.
The ASAC fishing tournament season is getting underway. We wish our NJBBA team the best of luck. Go Get Them Team…….
We have attended every meeting held by the NJDEP regarding their proposed “beach access” changes. We have signed on with other like organizations to expand our reach to the public and lawmakers to let our voices be heard. I have provided more info on this matter in this newslet-ter.
As you can see this organization never sits back to rest on it’s laurels we have attended, Ocean Fun Day, Barnegat Bay Festival as well as other community events.
We continue to plan our yearly events and add some new ones. See the calendar of events in this paper and check our web-site: www.njbba.org for more info.
We are also pleased that our membership is constantly increasing and welcome all those who have joined us.

ADOPT A BEACH AWARD
On May 26th the New Jersey Beach Buggy Assn. received the “Clean Communities Award” for all the times at we participated in the Adopt A Beach Program doing the beach clean-ups.
I would like to thank everyone that came out to help on the beach clean ups, and support N.J.B.B.A in this program it is members and people like you that helped us get this Award.
Thank you, Paul Harris - President
Beach Access The New Jersey Beach Buggy has signed on with the American Littoral Society to protest the NJDEP proposal to eliminate the
Public Land Trust Doctrine that gives everyone the right to use all tidal waters of the State of New Jersey. The proposal would
give every municipality the right to control access to their beaches and tidal water land. This proposal covers all tidal water from
Cape May Point to the George Washington Bridge and up the Delaware River to Trenton. The New Jersey Beach Buggy Assn. along
with many other organizations has attended all the public access meetings to express and have our input on why this should not
happen. This will affect all of us that like to use the tidal waters and the beaches for recreation and fishing. The towns could deny
beach access and parking as they see fit.
The New Jersey DEP’s proposal not only effects New Jersey tax payers it also effects people coming to New Jersey to enjoy our
beaches and good fishing.
The Governor signed a free saltwater registration so people would be able to fish in our waters and then got the DEP to rescind
(Do away) with the Public Land Trust Doc. so towns can restrict access to the very beaches that we would fish from and bring our
families to enjoy
To understand what the Public Land Trust Doc. is go on the DEP web-site to read or copy to see what you will lose if the DEP has
their way. The DEP should be working to enforce the Public Land Trust Doc, not trying to do away with it.

Beach Access
In May I asked for everyone members, friends, anyone that was
interested in beach access to write letters. As I said in my request
I don’t ask for much, at this time I would like to thank everyone
that took the time to write a letter to DEP to let them know on how
you feel about beach access and the opposition for doing away
with the Public Land Trust Doc. Thanks to all who pass the infor-
mation to others. We need for everyone to stick together on
things like beach access. If you didn’t receive the information
from the N.J.B.B.A web-site or by E-Mail let Dave know, he is our
web-master and E-mailer and he does a good job getting this in-
formation out. Thanks to you Dave.

NJBBA Website: by Dave Paulick, Director, #3648
The New Jersey Beach Buggy’s website has been growing in leaps and bounds. The number of visitors and hits in the months of March, April and May has been really impressive. With an average of 135,000 hits monthly, I am sure we will top a million this year. Our web site is a great place to find up-coming events as well as happenings outside NJBBA. Like the recent up to the minute “Pots off the Reef” and the new “NJ Fishing Registry” information, supplied to us by NJOA.
One area of concern is that some members are not renewing their membership. Dues and Renewed Memberships are the main financial engine that keeps NJBBA running. There are so many project we run to benefit others, like our outings for Veterans, Spe-cial Needs Kids, and the Snow Fence project. Paying your dues online is as easy as a click of a finger. Go to www.njbba.org and click on membership at the top of the page. And if you know of someone that would like to join they can do the same.
Another way for us to let you know about events or projects coming up is our mass email. This information is sent to you the week before the events. There are many outdoor events being put on by other organizations during the summer that are filled with edu-cational information. If you are looking for something to do on a weekend for you or your family, come and visit us and the event. If you are not getting this information in your email, you need to send your address to our Membership Secretary Ken Hollins at [email protected] .
33rd Annual Great Fall Classic is Moving
Yes! That’s right the Great Fall Classic will be returning to North Wildwood, NJ. With the consensus of the fishermen and women we will be heading back north where the fishing conditions are definitely better. The teams are very competitive and we anticipate some fierce battles for the top honors of winning the Classic.
This year’s Classic will be held the weekend of October 8th & 9th, 2011. With headquarters being the N. Wildwood Lifeguard Build-ing located at 15th street and the beach. Registration for the ASAC sanctioned team event will start at 5:00am and there will be a 50 team limit. Team registration is $50 and individual will be $10. Individuals will make up a team as they register. The tourna-ment will start at 7am, with the first position ending at 10am. The second position will commence at 10:30 and run till the end of the tournament 1:30pm at which prizes and awards will be handed out. Free Beach buggy passes will be handed out to partici-pants at headquarters.
The Individual Tournament, which is a separate tournament, not ASAC sanctioned is a two day event, the 8th & 9th. Registration is $10 per person and will start after the awards to the team event. The tournament will start at 5pm and run through the night end-ing at 12 noon, Oct. 9. You can register up until 9am on the 9th. A separate beach buggy pass will be handed out if you have a buggy and if you do not there is plenty of parking close to the water.
For more information you can contact Tournament Director Dave Paulick at 609-290-6480 or email me at [email protected]. Also visit www.njbba.org and click “Club Functions”.
National Hunting and Fishing Day
On Saturday September 24, 2011 we will be holding our annual National Hunting and Fishing Day celebration on Island Beach State Park at area A21, beginning at 8am. We will have coffee and donuts in the morning and lunch will be the famous Beach Buggy hot dogs.
If you want to really feel like you have done a great deed and made some special kids have a brighter day then come on out and help in the festivities. These kids have a great time and really appreciate getting out on the beach.
We can use all the help we can get for this event. I hope to see everyone there.

Public Land Trust Doc. and the
N.J. DEP.
On April 4th 2011 the DEP. proposed changes in
access regulations of the Public Land Trust Doc.
The new proposals will turn over responsibility
for beach access and times of access to tidal
waters to municipalities. The N.J.B.B.A has
signed on with the Surfrider foundation, JCAA,
NJOA, New Jersey State Federation of Sports-
man, and the American Littoral Society and 40
other organizations to oppose these changes.
We have attended all the public meetings to
voice our opposition we have requested to be
on any rule changes that pertains to beach ac-
cess. I had asked that members, families, and
friends write letters to the DEP. opposing the
new rule changes I don’t know how many letters
the DEP. received. I would like to thank all that
wrote. I am hoping that all the opposition from
the public meetings and letters helped in mak-
ing the DEP. change some of the proposed
regulations and ask for input from all the user

The summer is here and the people are coming down to
the beach, hope you all have a great summer. Please
keep a watch out for any infractions that might cause a
problem on all beaches that you patrol. Please keep send-
ing me your reports remember this is important for our
volunteer hours. Looking for Courtesy patrol people for
LBI. Now that beach access is an issue on the coast we
need input from all the beaches.
