Principal Report Hi everyone, What an eventful term we had. On Friday the 10 th May 2019 our school buildings were subjected to serious flooding. 10 classrooms, the library, the kitchen, the ICT room, the PE hall and part of our office area were all heavily affected by water damage. I am pleased to advise you that majority of restorative works have now been completed, including new carpets in most areas, resurfacing of the PE hall and drain clearance. Further works will be undertaken over the upcoming holiday period in time for the start of Term 3. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our college community for their fantastic support over these difficult weeks. Students, staff and parents have done a tremendous job overcoming the many obstacles in the last few weeks. I would like to announce some staffing changes for the start of Term 3. Sarah Farrugia has been appointed to the position of Head of Secondary Department at PSC and will commence Term 3 as the teacher in room 16. We also welcome Renee Harris, Allie Sutton, Lydia Woodward and Bianca Barber to our team of Education Support Staff from the start of Term 3. Looking forward to seeing you all in Term 3. Principal Report

Hi everyone,

What an eventful term we had. On Friday the 10th May 2019 our school buildings were subjected to

serious flooding. 10 classrooms, the library, the kitchen, the ICT room, the PE hall and part of our office

area were all heavily affected by water damage.

I am pleased to advise you that majority of restorative works have now been completed, including new

carpets in most areas, resurfacing of the PE hall and drain clearance. Further works will be undertaken

over the upcoming holiday period in time for the start of Term 3.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our college community for their fantastic support over these

difficult weeks. Students, staff and parents have done a tremendous job overcoming the many obstacles

in the last few weeks.

I would like to announce some staffing changes for the start of Term 3. Sarah Farrugia has been

appointed to the position of Head of Secondary Department at PSC and will commence Term 3 as the

teacher in room 16. We also welcome Renee Harris, Allie Sutton, Lydia Woodward and Bianca Barber

to our team of Education Support Staff from the start of Term 3.

Looking forward to seeing you all in Term 3.

All the best Peter. Peter

In Music classes, all students earn Class Dojo reward points for working hard as Music learners and

displaying positive behaviours. Points are accumulative throughout the term, students can see their

growth throughout the term and celebrate with rewards each session and a whole class reward at the

end of the term.

At the end of Term 1, the Music Room transformed into a disco with coloured lights, songs and Just

Dance videos to dance along. All classes worked hard building music skills and rewarded for earning

their positive behaviour points with a Class Dojo DISCO session. It was lots of fun dancing along, the

lights were colourful and it was great to celebrate all we had learned throughout the term.

Womindjeka!

We were very lucky this term to have Wurundjeri Elder, Murrundindi

visit our school community and share his cultural knowledge through

stories, didgeridoo and song.

Our Horticulture VCAL students have been learning the names and

uses of the indigenous plants in the Bush Tucker Garden and their

uses for the ‘Garden to Table’ program. Students look forward to

using the fire pit and grinding stone for their program too.

The Didgeridoo group are enjoying the new fire pit area for playing

and having a yarn too.

Thank you to Charli, Eli’s sister for her amazing singing of ‘I am, you

are, we are Australian’ at our school Assembly.

We all enjoy sharing and celebrating the Traditional Owners of this

land’s culture across the curriculum and with our community.

Class 13

This semester, Class 13 has been doing Strengthening Pathways. It includes

going out of the school as a class and doing things which will help when we

leave school. We have been practicing going to café’s, ordering food and drinks

by ourselves and handing over the correct money, also checking we got the

correct change (with assistance from staff.) Other times, we have been

learning to cross the street at the appropriate spots. We have also spent time

at the Dandenong Plaza, learning multi-cultural foods and stuff. By Zac
