Faculty Development has been working on a number of initiatives in preparation for the transition on July 1st, and beyond. Registration for all sessions will be available on the Faculty Development website.

Essentials of Classroom Teaching May 23, 2017

This full-day event covers topics essential to teaching in a variety of classroom settings, including objective-setting, small and large group learning strategies and teaching with technology.

Maudsley Symposium on CBME at Queen’s May 30, 2017

This full-day event, held in the School of Medicine Building, is open to all faculty, residents, staff, and students. It will include a morning plenary presentation by Dean Reznick, multiple small group and workshop sessions, research presentations and posters, and will celebrate the launch of CBME at Queen’s.

Workshop for Academic Advisors & Competency Committee Members June 7, 2017

This half-day workshop will provide practical support and will include topics such as: MEdTech for Academic Advisors and members of Competency Committees; identifying and supporting residents in difficulty with a focus on resident wellness; programmatic Assessment; and a panel talk with

practical tips and lessons learned.

Introduction to Simulation June 20, 2017

This event, held in the Simulation Centre, will introduce faculty to the essential skills needed to use simulation as a teaching tool, with a focus on CBME.

Operationalizing CBME Assessment in MEdTech: What you need to know for July 1st:

May, June, July 2017

A number of drop-in and small group sessions will be made available throughout May, June and July for faculty and residents to learn about assessment changes in CBME, and to familiarize yourself with the principles of CBME assessment and MEdTech. No registration required; first come, first served. All encouraged to attend including front-line faculty, residents and program administrators.
