PRINCIPAL’S NEWS FITNESS EQUIPMENT OPENING

This Friday, we will have the official opening of the oval fitness equipment at 1:30pm. Everyone is

welcome to attend the short ceremony.

VOLUNTEERS’ AFTERNOON TEA

Immediately following the opening, we will have our volunteers’ ‘thank you’ afternoon tea in the dining

room. All parents, carers and community members who have assisted the school in any way during the

year are invited to attend. If you have assisted in kitchen/garden, the canteen or fundraising

activities, please come along. You are most welcome!

MUSIC SHOWCASE

Our music showcase will feature acts from all classes. Please come along and see your children

perform. The performances will be held in the music room, commencing at 2:30pm.

LIONS CLUB OF MILDURA MAGIC SHOW

I have handed out all of the tickets to the magic show this Friday evening. Tickets are sponsored by

local businesses and are distributed to schools to pass on to families who may like a special treat

leading up to Christmas. Please write a ‘thank you’ note to the business that has sponsored the tickets

you have been given. If you do not want to use the tickets, please return them, as others are on the

waiting list.

PRESENTATION EVENING

Our annual presentation evening is on Thursday, 7th December, commencing at 6:45pm at the Sporting

Complex. All students are encouraged to attend, in full school uniform. Not all students will receive an

award, but it is important that all of our students acknowledge the achievements of their peers.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

MINDFULNESS

It is very easy to focus on the things that don’t work out right. It is a part of human nature to do

this. We are encouraging students to focus on the positive and, when angry or upset, to take a few

deep breaths, get a drink and find a quiet place to calm down, rather than reacting in a negative way

straight away. This is a great strategy to use at home too, and not just for the kids!

Hi Everyone,

I can’t believe that we are in week 8 already and that there are only 26 sleeps until Christmas.

K/1 posted their letters to Santa last week and we were very appreciative that John at the Post

Office was able to give us a tour and talk about the ‘journey of a letter’.

We have been finding messages on our alphabet board each morning. We are not sure who has been

leaving us messages but I am sure that all will be revealed shortly.

Our excursion in to Mildura is next Wednesday 6th December. Permission notes and payment of $10

is due this Friday.

K/1 is excited to show off their musical talents at the music showcase on Friday. Hope you can make

it.

Have a great week

Leanne Byrnes

1/2P It's busy, busy, busy in 1/2P as we approach the end of the term. Last week, we wrote and published

letters to Santa. We walked down to the post office to post them on Thursday. Don't be surprised if

you receive a reply in the mail shortly.

We require a variety of recyclable items to use for building challenges over the next two weeks. If

you or your child could please bring in cardboard boxes (no bigger than a cereal box), tubes and

plastic bottles it would be greatly appreciated.

This week we have had a new edition to the class, Poppy Snowflake. She will be keeping an eye on the

students over the next 3 weeks.

Next Wednesday 6th December, we will be going to Mildura for our infants excursion. Don't forget,

permission notes and payment of $10 is due this Friday.

This Friday 1/2P will be demonstrating their extraordinary musical talents at the showcase. We

would love to share this experience with friends and family.

Keep smiling,

Yvette Pomroy 2/3H The countdown is on!

We’ve been busy again in 2/3. We have been practicing persuasive writing and have been working on

our measurement skills.

If there are any more students with family photos for history, please bring them in.

Thanks

Erin Hammerton

3/4F For the next 2 weeks, the class will be engaging in a unit on “Celebrations”. This unit will focus on

Christmas and its history.

Last week during our STEM session, students challenged themselves constructing the biggest

possible tower using one deck of playing cards. Some students managed to stack three layers of the

tower.

Diaries will be checked every Friday. It would be much appreciated if students could donate any fruit

for our crunch and sip.

Have a wonderful week ahead,

Kathryn Fernandez

5M It’s almost the final countdown to the term/year, although there still seems to be many functions to

tick off the list.

Congratulation to all the Year 5’s who did a fantastic job with their leadership speeches at Monday’s

special assembly. News of the outcome will be announced at next week’s Thursday evenings

Presentation Night. This is just another reason why it is important to ensure all students attend this

function.

We wish Tyler, Kayden and Jayden all the best with their trip to Sydney next week. The will be

spending the last two weeks of term at Stewart House.

Reminders:

Fruit donations for daily Crunch & Sip. Diaries with updated Reading Data due this Friday
