A Message From Your Conifer Chamber Board President, Melissa Baker
Happy Holidays! I am so thankful for our fan-tastic group of businesses, organizations and community volunteers that make up our Cham-ber. This past month I had the opportunity to chat with a prospective member about the benefits of joining. He mentioned he had joined a larger Chamber down the hill because their member base was larger and appeared to present more opportunities for his busi-ness. After attending last month's membership meeting and one of our mixers, he confessed that he had overlooked the benefits of our smaller Chamber and was amazed at the qual-ity of the relationships between our mem-bers. It's nice to know that with very little effort he too saw the strength of our member-ship. Thank you all for welcoming our new and prospective members with open arms!
Last weekend was our 13th Annual Wine Tasting & Silent Auction combined with our 2nd Annual Festival of Trees. Thank you to everyone who attended, donated items to the auction, decorated trees, served and do-nated food, wine and desserts and most of all to the fabulous group of volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event a huge success! It was an incredible undertaking to combine these events, however, well worth the time and work. THANK YOU ALL!
THIS SATURDAY, December 7th, is your 31st Annual Conifer Christmas Parade! Our theme is a Storytime Christmas and this year's Grand Marshal is our own Jesse McKean with Mountain Books. We'll kick off the fes-tivities at noon with Bradford Junction on the Christmas Village Stage (behind Aspen Park Wine & Spirits) fol-lowed by the parade at 1:30p. There will be vendors, festival food, warm spirits, our 2nd Annual Santa's Milk & Cookies Eating Competition and live entertainment all day long, including the Bucktones at 5p so make sure you dress warm and plan to stay all day! I wish you all the happiest of holidays, Melissa Baker P.S. This month's picture is from the Colorado Capitol. The team at Gerou & Associates got the opportunity to climb the scaffolding to see the restoration of the dome up close. It is absolutely phenomenal to see the detail and craftsmanship that was constructed by hand for our state capitol. I am truly blessed to work with such amazing people that they included me on this once in a lifetime opportunity. Thank you, Phil & Cheri Gerou!

Greetings Everyone! The holidays are here, and so are our biggest events! We had a smashing successful turnout with the Holiday Wine Tasting, Decadent Desserts, & Festival of Trees and are looking forward to promoting our Winter Wonderland Week-end in the mountains, with things to do, places to go, and people to see in Evergreen, Conifer, and Bailey the weekend of December 6-8th! If you have anything special planned this month that you'd like help promoting, please let us know about it! Our other effort this month focused on helping promote shopping locally during Small Business Saturday. We took out full-page ads in The Flume and the 285Hustler and filled them with coupons and information from participating Chamber members to let those who live here know where to find good deals and encourage them to stay up the hill to shop for the holidays. Tourism isn't just about marketing to those who live outside the area; it's about letting those who live here know too! Thank you to everyone who purchased an ad, and thank you to The Flume and Evergreen Newspapers for their generous assistance! Wishing you all a successful and joyous month. With gratitude, Sharon Trilk, Chair 285 Tourism Committee Reach Sharon at [email protected] (new email!) or by calling 720-608-0285
