Dear Parents/Carers,

We send our best wishes to Gill Davey for a speedy

recovery after unfortunately breaking her ankle at the

weekend. Gill is expecting to be absent from school

for four weeks and is being replaced by Mrs Jill

Hobbs for this time. (Please note: Mrs Hobbs will be

absent Monday due to a prearranged appointment).

Proposed Timetable Change

The staff and School Council having been discussing

trialling a change to the daily school timetable during

Term 4. The aim of the proposed change is to make

the teaching and learning time more productive by

being in hourly blocks and to alleviate some traffic at

the end of the day. The model is currently followed by

many schools and is as follows:

Session 1: 9.00-11.00am

Recess: 11.00– 11.30am

Session 2: 11.30—1.30pm (Children would eat lunch

inside at 1.20pm)

Lunch break: 1.30-2.15pm

Session 3. 2.15-3.15pm

School Council would like to consider any parent

feedback so please feel free to put suggestions in writ-

ing and drop them in at the office prior to the next

meeting. Thank you

Next Monday after assembly there will be morning tea

for all parents who are able to come. I look forward to

seeing you all there.

Enjoy your week

Parking As you are aware School Council in conjunction with

the City of Greater Bendigo will be trialling some

alterations to the car parking.

We have been notified by the City of Greater Bendigo

that this week the markings for the new arrangements

will be made and then bollards will be installed next

week. A colour copy of the parking plan can be found

on the Noticeboard. If you have any queries please

contact the school. Thank you

Sports News Loddon Campaspe Netball Tuesday 20th July, nine Epsom students went to the

Schweppes centre to play a netball competition for grade

5/6 students. We competed against Huntly, Maiden

Gully, Eaglehawk and many other schools

The team was Mikaela, Dallas, Avalon, Emily, Michael,

and Sam, Bailey, Morgan and I and our wonderful coach

Mrs. Davey.

We played around nine or ten games of 8 minute halves.

We had a break between our games. We won six of our

games and lost three. If we had beaten Echuca we would

have been in the grand final but Echuca won by one

goal.

I was disappointed that we lost and that made me try

harder but it is not always about winning. We managed

third which made me a little happy.

Football

Sixteen boys from our school did a most creditable job at

last week's Regional Lightning Premiership at

Bendigo. Against opposition teams that were often older

and bigger, our boys managed to win 3 games and lose 3

games. Despite not making the finals in our division, the

boys' efforts are worthy of the highest praise because of

the way they played and the good sportsmanship they

showed at all times and the fact that with only 16 players

we had no 'interchange' bench to give tired and sore

players a breather.

Players' conduct both on and off the field was exemplary

and special note should be made of our two co-captains,

Bailey Evans and Morgan Tresize, who showed strong

and positive leadership. Too many good players to list

here but my congratulations to you all.

Many thanks to all those parents who came along to sup-

port our boys and a big 'Thank you' to Jeremy Evans and

'Jimmy' for the coaching and mentoring for the boys: -

very much appreciated.

FOOTY JUMPERS!!!!!! There are still a few to be

returned - if you haven't already done so, please return

them to school asap - washed please!

PRIVACY FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: 1 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION FOR PARENTS www.education.vic.gov.au/ultranet

WHO CAN USE THE ULTRANET? The Ultranet is a limited-access online community space. This means that access to information in the Ultranet is

not open to general internet users. All users of the Ultranet must be part of the education community. To access

the Ultranet a user must:

be a Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) staff member; or

have been offered Ultranet access by the school/DEECD (as a student or parent) and then register to con-

firm their identity for access.

HOW HAS PRIVACY BEEN ADDRESSED IN THE ULTRANET? The privacy of all users has been a key consideration in the design of the Ultranet. An independent Privacy Im-

pact Assessment and a Threat/Risk Assessment have been undertaken for the Ultranet. All recommendations

have been considered and appropriate precautions have been put in place to reasonably protect the privacy and

security of all Ultranet users. Whilst no system is ever completely ‘safe’, all reasonable protections have been put

in place.

WHAT STUDENT INFORMATION IS BROUGHT INTO THE ULTRANET? The student information that will be displayed by default in the Ultranet will be limited to their name and (if a par-

ent consents) their photograph. There will not be any system-generated health, welfare or contact details about a

student in the Ultranet. Students may provide information themselves, but should be guided by teachers and par-

ents about what they should or should not share.

Over time student work and learning progress information will be held in the Ultranet, viewable only to the student,

their parents and the teachers at their school.

More Information Next Week.
