The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit has had a busy 2 months hosting a variety of

successful events all of which demonstrate the versatility of the newly refur-

bished venue.

The month of October opened with the DSTV Delicious International Food and

Music Festival. The annual event which combines food and music attracted 20

000 visitors over 2 days. The event took place on the two platform areas

creating a spectacular mix of restaurant areas and an international stage on

which various top local and international artists performed. The Handling Track

was transformed into a gourmet food zone which showcased a variety of

delectable local produce for the many visitors.

Over 2 days the MTN CEO Global Awards took place in the Paddock and Viewing

Deck. The event drew delegates from around the world and featured award

winning international speakers.

Kyalami hosted its opening racing meeting October. The Motorsport Festival

powered by Cell C attracted a record entry of 430 competitors for the

spectacular 3 day event. Over 15 000 race fans attended the historic event. The

race meeting commenced with a Thursday evening Legends Dinner for 260

guests in the new Conference Area. The dinner raised over R 100 000 for the

Legends Foundation Benevolent Fund and also honoured the Kyalami Legends,

after which various areas of the International Convention Centre are named.

Over 650 participants completed the Baron Run4Good. This 5km marathon

around the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit attracted over 100 companies who

entered teams to run for a good cause.

The BMW Club held their annual Bridgestone BMW Kyalami Track and Race Day

event. Held since 1991, this popular event drew a record entry of 159 partici-

pants. The Club also used the event to raise funds for various charities.

The FNB Innovation Awards also made use of the Jody Scheckter Paddock area

and Viewing Deck with a spectacular awards ceremony and dinner held in

November.

The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit and International Convention Centre continues to

host day to day activities such as Driver Training, Conferences and Track Days.

DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival saw 20,000 visitors over the

weekend of 8th—9th October 2016. The crowds enjoyed 18 acts, 6 International and

11 local. Headlining performers were Macy Gray and the Jacksons.

and welcomed over 300 CEOs and international guest speakers

from around the world.

The Bridgestone BMW Club Racing Series hosted its annual track day on the

29th of October. With a total of 159 cars taking to the new circuit during the

day this proved to be the biggest ever organized by the club.
