Dear Friends and Well wishers of Saritsa Foundation, I wish you a Great year of Happiness and Prosperity.  On the outset of the New Year I share with you the most valuable award to Saritsa Foundation has been honored with.

emergencies in the past 12 years. I recommend supporting his work and to sensitize more people to join this mission to save lives and recognize the importance of RIGHT TO LIFE SECURITY and reducing risk and vulnerability related with natural hazards by building knowledge and imparting education. During my tenure as head of the UNISDR secretariat, we were pleased to collaborate with Colonel Nagar and helped disseminate his work through the UNISDR public information means.”

(Please Note – Mr. Salvano Briceno of UNITED NATIONS‐INTERNATIONAL STRATEGY FOR DISASTER REDUCTION DIRECTOR(Now retiree) has revolutionized and transformed strategies and plans to guide all the nations of the world to evolve National Disaster Management policies and plans for implemental locally to minimize losses in disasters and climate change in about past 12 years. His level of interaction was Prime Ministers, Presidents and Ministers of Disaster Management throughout the world. Yet he has recognized the work of Saritsa Foundation and endorsed it many times.) 

The New year has brought ripples of joy and rays of hope to Saritsa Foundation ( Saritsa Charity Trust ) to continue to commit ourselves to add to our unshakable faith and loyalty to our Mission to save innocent lives and means of livelihood of most vulnerable people in disasters by providing them access to information, knowledge, education and training to minimize risks from disasters and climate change. We shall reach to people, talk to people and prepare people by reaching to their DOOR STEPS in rural and urban India to build resilience and Safety Culture.  

Our innovative approach to advocate and practice “People Centered, People Led and People Owned” approach to the process of Disaster Risk Reduction is recognized as a valuable concept with its strength of replication internationally. I had the opportunity to  air my views with conviction, passion and our accomplishments where we  have empowered 2,05,000 people, especially, children, women and persons with disability who are most vulnerable in emergencies of disasters at a conference of members of Global Network of Civil Society Members at Thailand in February 2012 as well as at 5th Asian Ministers Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction with a theme to build local capacities from 22 October to 25 October 2012. It is shared here with a sense of pride that a large number of Members of Parliament from Asian countries and members of international delegations endorsed our concept enthusiastically and termed it a viable solution and acceptable approach internationally as way to future. It is Bottom Upward capacity building way to Disaster Risk Reduction which begins at the Door Steps of people not at the corridors of governments. 

Saritsa Foundation recognizes that “First Aid” in meeting the challenges of disasters are people themselves they have to develop skills and confidence to save many lives till arrival of outside help.  

I quote a visionary king “The common people are the foundation of any country. It is only when this foundation is strong that a country may be stable and prosperous. “The King Sezong the Great, Ruler of Chosen Korea (South Korea 1418) 

I find a resembling similarity and connectivity where we fully believe that if people are given opportunity they will strengthen the system to recognize the needed importance of Right to life Security in disasters and comprehend their role and responsibility at individual and societal level. 

My deepest thoughts in personal circumstances at the time of beginning of year 2013 are filled with your personal commitment to the mission of Saritsa Foundation. We had a year with good success where we could reach to about 11500 school children, women, persons with disability and community groups during the past year to raise their awareness and preparedness level to recognize the importance of  RIGHT TO LIFE SAFETY  with an understanding their own role and responsibility to save lives  in disasters and spread this awareness amongst their families, friends and societal members.   

There were no projects or funding from international organizations or national government. Our mission has been sustained with your support in kind, partnership of  local societal organizations like religious mandals, political party volunteers, administrations of educational institutions and universities ,members of corporate sector and local government authorities. It is one of the leading idea where Disaster Risk Reduction initiatives have to be with partnership of the people and not fully dependent on funding from international organizations and national governments only. I am happy to say that it is success of endeavor which we have advocated and practiced with. The measured response by people those who supported us has been heartening. It has strengthened us to remain targeted to our cause. This highlights that what we have evolved as a system is a dynamic system with our ethical accountability. The virtue of humility and passion of highest level to progress our mission has mirrored our image of an organization which is symbol of pride and inspires international community to consider it one of the examples of good practice where life saving in disasters is made people centric mission.    

I seek support of citizens, students, retired and senior citizens, religious organizations, social forums, NGOs, academic institutions, school and college administrations, staff and employees of hospitals and primary health centers, corporate leaders, local and state government authorities, elected representatives and the media to make saving innocent lives in disasters 

a sensitive issue and a priority. Choose 5 families to raise awareness and impart education to develop their skills and confidence and you will render a valuable service to people to empower them.   All friends who are linked with me at LinkedIn and on Face book, especially my friend’s who are Alumni’s of BITS Pilani have to take a serious note of my request and associate themselves with the mission of Saritsa Foundation. We plan to empower 15,000 school children, women, persons with disabilities and vulnerable citizens to cope with disasters and climate change up to 31 March 2014.  

 REQUEST

A Workshop was organized for Members of Indian Merchant Chamber of Commerce, New Mumbai, in January 2012. Shri R. K. Jain, Chairman IMC New Mumbai inaugurated it.

The Workshop was organized for visually impaired youth (boys and girls) of 109 batch of Industrial Training Institute of National Association for Blinds, Mumbai India on 16 and 17 May 2012. 

 

Workshop at Canteen Store Department, Ministry of Defense, Government of India was organized from 25 to 26 May 2012, Major General R Suresh, Chairman Canteen Store Department, Ministry Of Defense, Government of India inaugurates the workshops at Mumbai.
