S What we doI&T News is a twice weekly electronic direct mail (EDM) and website from Conexus Financial, the publishers of Investment magazine, top1000funds.com and Professional Planner. It is the news site tailored for institutional investment professionals.
I&T News prides itself on breaking news and providing industry-leading coverage of key developments in the institutional investment space. With a blend of hard news, analysis and events, I&T News is required reading for all senior executives and service providers to the $1 trillion-plus Australian superannuation market.
I&T News prides itself on talking to the most influential people and writing pithy, analytical articles. The EDM goes to more than 6,500 industry executives (per send) and has an open rate of more than 2,500 (per send). More than 1,500 people also regularly click through to the I&T News website.
Who we areI&T News is staffed by an experienced team of investment journalists. It is edited by Brett Cole, supported by a team of six investment journalists working for other Conexus Financial publications.
All content is original, generated by the I&T News team, each of whom has well-established contacts with executives across the investment and super fund sectors.
Meet the editor

Brett Cole has been working for I&T News since June 2011. Prior to moving to Sydney, he was the Korean correspondent for The Economist. Before The Economist he worked for Bloomberg in New York, Tokyo, Taipei and Sydney. In the 1980s and 1990s he was a freelance reporter in China and Vietnam and worked as a staff reporter for a Bangkok newspaper.
A proud graduate of North Bundaberg State High School, he lived on Thursday Island where his father was the harbour master and pilot for much of Cape York during the benevolent rule of Johannes Bjelke-Petersen. Born in Christchurch, New Zealand, he is a proud Kiwi and a fanatical All Blacks supporter.

T Engaged readershipOur readership spans most sectors of the institutional investment industry, including super fund executives, fund managers, asset consultants, dealer groups, insurers and other service providers. Almost 85 per cent of our audited list of email subscribers have opened I&T News this semester.
Starting in 2012, the opt-out EDM will cater more specifically for its audience. Modern EDM sending techniques will be used to increase engagement and website visits. These include A/B split testing (which sends variations of the email to optimise open rates), and dynamically-tailored content.
