1. Entrepreneurship Seminar Series (ESS) Two seminars held in Oct were delivered by founders of GoGoVan and Entrepreneur Times. As a new initiative, it was the first time for EIC to invite secondary school students to participate in “GoGoVan” seminar.

(i) “GoGoVanture” – Hong Kong first unicorn (9 Oct)

Around 300 participants joined the seminar of GoGoVan - Hong Kong first unicorn, on 9 October 2018 (Tue). Mr. Reeve KWAN, Co-founder and Operations Director of GoGoVan, shared his inspiring “GoGoVanture”. His story demonstrated that anyone with passion and a “never give up” attitude can make their dream come true. Aimed at nurturing entrepreneurial spirit in young generation, 60 students from 18 secondary schools were exclusively invited to this seminar. <<Read More>>

(ii) Ms. Celia LEUNG shares her tips on pitching your entrepreneurial idea (30 Oct)

Ms. Celia LEUNG, co-founder and CEO of Entrepreneur Times, was invited to share her amazing journey and experience on how to pitch business ideas to industry experts. With strong entrepreneurial passion, Celia participated in different local and China competitions, and co-founded Entrepreneur Times in 2016 which is a one-stop solution business to business (B2B) multimedia platform.

2. Dean’s Cup Business Innovation Gymnasium (B.I.G. 3.0) 17 and 24 Nov 2018 (Sat)

Come learn in the First round (17 Nov) and Final round (24 Nov) of B.I.G.3.0! Supported by LimeHK (a local startup accelerator), the Final Round Competition will be held in WeWork (the hottest co-working space in the world) where will be an exciting and unique experience to HKBU students. Definitely, this is a valuable opportunity for teams to have real-life experience and connect with the startup community! What’s more?

Incubation services will be provided to the winning teams. B.I.G. is a platform aims at cultivating entrepreneurial spirit among students, nurturing their business ideas and enhancing their skill set for turning the idea into a reality.

1. Entrepreneurial Internship in Singapore Learn, explore and network in hottest startups

Why Singapore Internship? Singapore is ranked the fifth in the world and the first in Asia in Innovation and Entrepreneurship by Bloomberg. Working as intern in Singapore startup makes students’ resume more impressive. Such experience will enrich students’ mindset, life and skills and will offer them awesome experience they have never had. This is a rare opportunity for students to spend their next summer 2019 with more fun, more productive and more insight. Sponsoring startups include GoGoVan, Lynk, LiquidX and Singapore Management University. This internship programme is supported by Office of Student Affairs of HKBU.

2. HKBU Info Day (13 Oct)

More than 25,000 prospective secondary school students and visitors joined the Information Day for Undergraduate Admission at HKBU on 13 October. With the support from students of BBA (Hons) - Entrepreneurship Concentration, the promotion booth was lively, attracting large crowds,

generating buzz and full of energy. Four briefing sessions were also organized for secondary school students and their parents to help them know more about the programme and its uniqueness. As the “Top five most competitive HKBU programmes (based on Band A applications) in AY 2018/19, the Entrepreneurship Concentration had received numerous enquiries on the programme features and entry requirement.

3. Visit to Standard Chartered eXellerator Innovation Lab (6 Nov)

Learning happens everywhere, not just in the classroom. What a fruitful afternoon! A group of 24 BBA students visited Standard Chartered Innovation Lab, eXellerator, on 6 Nov. Apart from the tour, students learnt about the latest development in banking industry, e.g. fintech, artificial intelligence, cyber security. The eXellerator aims to promote innovation within the Bank and to tap emerging fintech and data science in the region, to bring better products and services to its customers in Hong Kong. <<About eXellerator>>
