Summary Responsibilities Requirements Senior Pastor The Senior Pastor is the spiritual leader of the church. They are responsible to oversee the direction of the congregation spiritually and its kingdom impact in the community. Reports to Board/Elders/Deacons (depends on church polity) Oversees staff members and ministry directors Weekly time investment: 50+ hours Creates the church’s vision and mission Leads the church leadership in the creation, implementation, and evaluation of strategic ends and key result areas Recruits and trains staff members and ministry directors Works with the board/elders/deacons/committees/staff members to perform their assigned responsibilities Preaches regularly and works with the Worship Director Personal relationship with Jesus Christ Meets the biblical qualifications of an elder (1 Timothy 3; Titus 1) Theological degree Proven track record of recruiting, equipping, and mobilizing volunteers Proven ability to mentor leaders Proven ability to preach and teach the gospel Experience in vision casting and evaluating ministry

The Senior Pastor is the spiritual leader of the church. They are responsible to oversee the direction of the congregation spiritually and its kingdom impact in the community.
