This season, they are 0-1-2 with the blueliner.  Games Played Leaderboard: Brian Rolston has played 1,195 career games (T-92nd all time). Jack Capuano was named the interim head coach of the New York Islanders on November 15, 2010. The Islanders removed the “interim” labelfrom Capuano’s title on April 12, 2011. Capuano first joined the Islanders in 2005-06 as an assistant coach. The native of Cranston, RI, was named head coach of the BridgeportSound Tigers on April 30, 2007, where he went 133-100-8-14 in four seasons. From 1997-2005, he served as the General Manager of the PeeDee Pride of the ECHL. Capuano also served as the head coach of the 2005 U.S. Under-18 Select Team at the Five Nations Cup in Slovakia. Capuano began his coaching career in 1995 as an assistant with the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks of the ECHL, after ending a playing career thatincluded stints with Boston, Vancouver and Toronto of the NHL and Springfield and Maine of the AHL.  Stay fresh - Washington is one of just three teams that does not have multiple forwards averaging less than 10 minutes per game thisseason. Only DJ King (6:58, one game played) has averaged less than 10 minutes per game (as of Friday).  Dynamic duo –Tomas Vokoun and Michal Neuvirth have both had success in their careers against the Islanders. Washington hasalso scored the most overtime goals in the league (3). Getting offensive –The Capitals lead the NHL in goals per game, scoring an average of 4.00 goals per game through their first 11games of the 2011-12 season. Their power play ranks third in the league at 24.4%. Washington is tied for second in the league in totalgoals scored this season (44).  Eager Eakin –Forward Cody Eakin was recalled from Hershey on Nov. 1 and made his NHL debut that night against Anaheim,becoming the first rookie to appear in a game for Washington this season. He skated 13:19 with three shots, one hit and one blockedshot. Eakin joins ex-Caps Eric Fehr and Joe Motzko as just the third Capital ever to wear No. 50. Seventh heaven –Washington won its first seven games of the 2011-12 season from 10/8 –10/22 to start the year 7-0-0 for the firsttime in franchise history. The previous record of 4-0-0 was set in 1991-92 and matched in 1997-98.  Hit parade –Troy Brouwer leads WSH and is third in the NHL in hits this season (43). He has led or been tied for the team lead in hitsin seven of his 11 games this season. Off the draw –Newcomers Joel Ward and Jeff Halpern are first and third, respectively, in faceoff percentage for the Capitals thisseason. Ward has won 68.4% of his faceoffs so far this season while Halpern has won 64.5% of his draws. Jason Chimera rankssecond (66.7%). A dose of depth –20 of the 23 skaters that have suited up for the Capitals this season have recorded a point. 17 of those 23 playershave scored a goal while 13 players have recorded at least five points so far this season.  Starting off right –Dennis Wideman recorded a point in each of his first seven games of the season (2g-5a) to tie a career-high pointstreak (seven games). It marked the third time in his career that Wideman has recorded a point streak of seven games. Widemanadded a goal and an assist on Tuesday against Anaheim and now has points in nine of the team’s 11 games this season. Czech the charts –Tomas Vokoun passed former Capital Don Beaupre for 37th place on the NHL’s all-time wins list amonggoaltenders (269). Vokoun ranks 31st in games played (641) and trails Bill Ranford (647) for 30th. Vokoun’s 45 career shutouts rank27th in NHL history, just one shy of Ken Dryden (46).
