Key features and benefits of EcoScape® SoftBond®
• Cost effective preparation ‐ In many cases very little base preparation is required due to the free draining nature of the product. (However, if the proposed location is very uneven, is recessed or has restricted drainage, some rendering work to the proposed sub‐base will be required).
• Enhanced aesthetics – The shredded rubber emulates the look of natural bark; the variety of coloured shreds mixed and then activated with the resin binder, creates a blend of colours, toning with use and the curing process; depicting many shades seen in a natural landscape.
• 100% recycled rubber shred – Satisfying many clients desire to be ecologically sensitive and reducing landfill and C02 emissions.
• Cost effective installation ‐ Single layer coverage in many circumstances, less site time needed; small batches can be mixed, effective on small hard to reach areas or repairs.
Key features and benefits of EcoScape® SoftBond®
• Flexible edge detail – In many cases no need for edge boarding or kerbing unless a raised area; simply taper the edge and secure under the surrounding natural turf.
• Mould to shapes and contours ‐ If the base on which it is to be laid is firm and stable, SoftBond® can be shaped for an enhanced play experience. (We advise not in high critical fall areas)
• Excellent drainage properties – More year round use.
• Improved heat dispersion due to air gaps in the material make up – More comfortable underfoot in hot conditions than some dense rubber surfaces.
Installation of EcoScape® Soft Bond® Using a paddle mixer, the rubber shred is mixed with the binder, until the product is fully coated.
10kg of rubber is mixed with no less than 1.8kg of binder or 2.0kg in higher wear areas. (SoftBond®+)
It is then transferred to a large bucket or barrow and placed on top of the appropriate geo‐textile.
The mix is then carefully spread with a trowel and tampered down, making sure a minimum thickness is achieved, as appropriate to the application.
