A poorly reasoned, unconvincing argument relies on questionable assumptions and logic.
What is given?
• Evaluate the issue and either agree or disagree. • Support your views with reasons and examples.
• Analyze the evidence, and criticize the reasoning used. • State its flaws & describe each of its major problems.
What to do?
Analytical Writing
• A clear point of view.• Structuring i.e. paragraphs, introduction, conclusion.• Support for the given point of view.• Spelling, grammar.*

Verbal Reasoning“Sentence

• Passage composed of 1 to 5 sentences• 1 to 3 blanks
• A single sentence with 1 blank• 6 answer choices
What is given?
Fill each blank from 3 answer choices per blank (5 if single blank).
Requires you to select 2 of the answer choices.
What to do?
“Reading Comprehension”
• A short passage (1-4 paragraphs long).• 1-6 questions per passage.
Locate answers to the questions from the short passage.
“Text Completion”
• Vocabulary• Ability to read context clues in the sentence
• Vocabulary• Ability to complete a sentence based on partial information.
